Firstly, some definition of terms. By mate-value hierarchy I mean the process of men and women sorting each other into hierarchies of desirability. Some men are more attractive and appealing than others, some women are more attractive and appealing than others. I will not here be entertaining the absurd claim that ''everyone is attracted to different things''. By conspiracy I mean that there are powerful and influential ideological forces in the societal mainstream that push this incessantly.

Essentially my claim is that there is a project underway to render it unacceptable for men to judge the attractiveness of women, or to have mate preferences at all.

So what am I talking about? Well to begin with you get articles like this, which are a dime a dozen:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/6954040/mum-confess-reasons-wont-date-single-mums-outrageous/

Men list completely rational reasons to not want to date single mums, but of course men having preferences is 'outrageous'.

Or this: https://thoughtcatalog.com/becca-ohandley/2016/03/9-reasons-it-takes-a-strong-man-to-date-a-single-mom/

Similar sort of thing, it's just assumed that men having preferences is scandalous. Every preference a man might have is assumed to be a reflection of some deep character flaw.

There's also things like this: https://www.bolde.com/plus-size-woman-refuses-settle-men/ and really the whole 'body positivity/fat acceptance' thing, which is really just fat woman acceptance. The idea being pushed is that being fat doesn't make a woman low value, because men don't get to determine that. Women should get to judge male value and also dictate to men what female value should be based off.

This actually has effects in the real world like so: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/jun/13/sadiq-khan-moves-to-ban-body-shaming-ads-from-london-transport

Basically, an advert that so brazenly puts forward the idea that there is an ideal, attractive female body shape has to be taken down because the female mate-value hierarchy is taboo. What exactly does 'demean women' mean? My contention is that it demeans women by tacitly admitting the unwelcome reality that men get to sort women by attractiveness just like women sort men by attractiveness. Can anybody imagine male insecurity being coddled in this way? When was the last time you heard male insecurity of any kind discussed in any context but mockery and dismissal?

There is this documentary I remember seeing some years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWEtfSDl018&t=2040s

Basically the thrust is it's mean that men have preferences about what a vagina should look like. Women are getting surgery to conform to male standards and this is some dreadful, evil thing that men are doing to them. There's a part where one man just flatly states his preferences and she tells him he's being horribly sexist. Obviously women get to have any preferences they like with regards dick size, or even circumcised/uncircumcised. If you don't measure up as a man it's your fault for being a bad person.

I don't personally think any of this has much of an effect, not so long as men are free to choose to whom they give their attention and commitment. Men perceive the female mate value hierarchy and act upon it regardless of what women and the mainstream narratives that coddle and pander to them say. Still, in the absense of the ability to actually destroy the hierarchy, the next best thing is to constantly deconstruct and delegitimize it, to make verbal or visual references to it taboo, and to push the concept out of the overton window. This is what is being done. The idea is men have no right to be judgeing women, this is some kind of dreadful affront or overstep by men to be daring to do this. A woman dictates her own value, and it's an act of brazen contumely by you to be thinking you as a man get a say in what is attractive to men. There is a huge effort in the societal mainstream to push the idea that men shouldn't have preferences, any preferences a man does have reflect only his own poor character.
