Honest question.. It is fairly obvious that many women have high standards for the men they want and refuse to settle. He has to be tall, rich, fit, charming and on and on. We've all seen the different requirements.

So the question is.. how is this mathematically possible? Almost all women, no matter where they are on the so-called scale feel entitled to a top tier man. There are simply not enough top tier men for all of the women who feel entitled to them... and that's even being generous with what constitutes a top tier man!

Every single bit of criteria that women want makes the pool of available men smaller.

Is he single and available? That's a smaller group of men.

Is he tall? That's a smaller group of men.

Is he wealthy enough? That's a smaller group of men.

Is he emotionally intelligent? That's a smaller group of men.

Is he good in bed? That's a smaller group of men.

...and on and on...

This is sort of a question and concern for society because where does this lead?

Do women lower their standards or do we just leave the majority of men out in the cold? ..and I guess the majority of women would be out in the cold in that case too because they refuse to settle.

Wouldn't this also create a condition where many of these high value men have no incentive at all to settle down with one women because they are in high demand? At the very LEAST they would settle down with only very high level women.

*Edit* This isn't really about whether settling is right or wrong or good or bad... just how is it supposed to work? Are women with high standards or very high standards aware that the odds of finding an available guy like that while nearly every other woman is looking for a guy like that also is vanishingly small?
