From what it seems, the french dating scene has taken the same liberal shift as in usa but at a faster pace. The main differences would be :

-Men and women being equals is the norm

-Splitting the bill is the norm

-Café / beer / having a walk is the default for a first date, going on a dinner is considered a terrible idea

-Abortion has been added to our constitution as human right, it cannot change

  • Conversational skills are king , we love talking for hours

-Simping doesnt work and is shamed. To exhibit wealth and pay for women's stuff or the bill is seen as lame and a way to compensate for other flaws.

-Monogamy is the norm. We do not have that weird phase where americans fuck and date multiple people at the same time to evaluate who to pick. That's gross af from our perspective

-no prenup is the standard, everyone keeps what was made before and splits what was made during the mariage.

-our women put on much less make up (usually only eyes and lips). The powder and face painting is seen as vulgaire/trashy

IMO our dating culture is far superior but id be curious about your perspective. Many of you find the american dating culture already too "liberal" so i wonder if you'd hate it even more in here
