Love is supposed to apply a whole person, down to their soul. Cherishing them and accepting that they will age, and their body will change, especially if it has made children.

Does this kind of love not exist anymore? Has it been decimated by our “better, prettier, next” culture? I’m so sad for humanity.

Growing and changing together and accepting that this happens to both of you is part of the point of marriage. If someone who lives with you looks devoid of life and spirit, please look in the mirror and think how to help. Seriously tho, what problems do older men have? For months now, I (23 y/o) have gotten friend request by this old dude that is at least over 55. I never accept him. I dont know him, never talked to him. Does it stop him? No no no, he just continiues to spam my account with his stupid friend request and hoping he will get the chance to talk to me. Whats even sadder, is that he is supposedly married with this young thai woman that has a child (dont know if its theirs or only hers), and he still goes on with his hunting for young women in their 20s. Its disgusting.

I am gonna block him. Problem is, he makes new accounts and does the same again. I feel he is harassing me at this point. The only thing we have in common, is that we live in the same city - nothing else.

Man the more I talk to men I realize I'm okay with never getting married. No matter what, you're never enough. The poor aunt took care of him, gave him probably more than what he deserved and even then he was still ungrateful. My husband's grandparents had friends/neighbors who were in their late 70's when the wife was diagnosed with MS and it hit her really hard. In the matter of a few years she went from functioning like a normal elderly lady to someone who needed extra help and care. The husband filed for divorce. She was in the darkest end of her life and he straight up abandoned her. Then proceeded to date other women and show up at holiday gatherings without her. It was super duper awkward and I was so angry every time I saw him come around. It's just God awful to think you can spend your entire life caring for someone and the moment you stop they just straight up abandon ship.

I used to work as a moderator on a dating site, and I kid you not, about 50% of the men there were old (literally 60+), married and trying to date women in their 20s. There were men in their 80s complaining to 30 year old women that they didn't feel she was doing enough of the chasing. Absolutely insane. And yes, a load of them were married and wanted a bit on the side because their wife was ailing.
