When we were in our 20s, my brother was at home, sick, and he got this girl who lived TWO TOWNS OVER to come out, in a rainstorm, to pick up food he'd ordered from a restaurant in OUR town and bring it to him, along with some Nyquil. lol - when I was around 19, a friend set me up with an older guy (late 20s) who worked as a stockbroker. The guy liked to give an outward impression of success. One time we went shopping and he made a big scene about buying an expensive suit. Anyway, as we dated I started to see the real cheapskate him. We went for dinner with a large group of his friends and he left early, leaving his portion of the bill for someone else to pick up. Then one time we were at the pet store getting food for his fish and he "mistakingly" forgot his wallet. That was the first time I ended up paying; after subsequent bullshit of this nature, I dumped his ass.

I will blame this on being young and naive. I didn't date in high school so had little experience. The older I got, the more I started seeing through this (sadly, the older I got, the more I realized that A LOT of men are like this; lowering your standards and expectations is almost expected). FDS can be a godsend for those younger and looking for insightful, honest information on what dating in the modern age is like. It truly is better to be alone and thriving than with someone who uses and abuses you in any way, shape or form.
