The same people who complain endlessly about men's preferences for shaved body hair on women are the first ones to resort to insults like "neckbeard", make fun of "pedostaches", etc. All insults based on men's natural facial hair.

Why do these groups generally treat women's grooming preferences in male partners as acceptable but not vice versa?

And more broadly, why is it acceptable to subject men to social/professional consequences for not grooming their visible facial hair but not as acceptable to subject women to social/professional consequences for not grooming their visible body hair(especially armpit hair)?
