Be careful: depending on if you have kids and the state your divorce was settled in this might be considered supplemental income privy to additional child support or modification up in spousal support. It really depends on the state and how your settlement decree was drafted. Hope you protected yourself (ex: non modifiable up if your income increases and still on the hook for spousal support).

I wouldn’t tell your ex or your attorney. Your inheritance is just hearsay at this point. I guarantee if you tell your attorney it’s going to cost you a whole lot more. I would push to expedite the divorce to the earliest possible and let the attorneys know unnecessary continuances will be met with complaints to the courts and the bar. Delaying will cost you.

I'm working on just the info in OP and my take is she isn't about money.

Speaking as someone who's alright fending for themself, if I'm divorcing a woman, she already has the high ground financially, and then she inherits 2M, it definitely doesn't change anything. I chose to walk away from what they could offer financially, guess what, I'm walking away.

Personal experience, ex wife made 3x what I did during the marriage, I walked away and left all equity in the house, she's still making CS as hostile as possible just to give me hell. Point being: OP reads that you're definitely a person for whom money can be leveraged, and stating she is not, based on prior actions. Speaking as someone you cannot understand: it's not going to work. I can't make you see why, but if it's true she is willing to walk away, throwing that inheritance into the equation still won't tip the scales.

Whatever motivates her, my best guess is still only a guess. But you're saying it's not $. Adding zeroes matters to you, to her it's zeroes, it weighs zero.

It depends on the laws where you are but inheritance isn’t a marital asset until it’s commingled with other marital assets. You probably do have a legal obligation to disclose (through your attorney) but she’s probably got not claim on that money.

If the divorce is not yet finalized, don't tell her, but tell your attorney. You need to keep that safe. If she comes crawling back, that's just a huge threat to your financial security because she can ensnare you in a legal battle to get access to it. Even if she is not successful, she can prolong the divorce by months, or years, and have the court put a financial restraining order on that money until the outcome is decided. You need to get your attorney pushing to have the divorce finalized and done before your dad's estate is resolved.

If the ex wasn't communicating with honesty during the relationship and especially in the run-up to its end, you'll just never fuckin know. I'm tempted to talk about my circumstances and why that's the conclusion I've come to, but if you can figure out how to let all that shit go whenever it comes across your radar, you'll be better off for it. For some of us it's really hard to stop ruminating about "yeah but what would she do (or have done) if X was different" but maybe a better question is:

If for whatever reason she would crawl back, what are the odds on you letting her through the door?

EDIT: I missed at least one comment thread where you addressed that, but for real it's not worth the energy you'll spend thinking about an ex that way. Redirect all that to something that builds you up.

Things can vary by state. In mine (Florida) any inheritance of any kind and of any value at all is not a marital asset--unless you make it one. Meaning, if you get a windfall of money and deposit it in a shared account? It's now a marital asset. If you run out and buy a house with it? Congratulations, you just bought a marital asset. Even if you keep it in a separate account but use it to pay rent or mortgage, or food, gas, electricity & utilities, etc. support the family in general, it can be argued in court (successfully) that it is a marital asset. I imagine many states may handle this similarly, but you want to consult with your attorney because you have to be sure.

As someone else suggested, an attorney may want to declare this asset in order to keep it over the table and see to it that a final divorce holds it out of bounds, but it's also possible that in your state this isn't necessary--l'd imagine if your attorney doesn't want to do this then it's due to the above, that you are not intermingling the finances you share with your wife along with your inheritance, so make sure in the minimum that you don't do that!

If I were in your shoes I'd not say one word about this to your wife and consult your attorney yesterday. I'd do what he advises, but I'd preface it that I would prefer not to bring it in to the legal proceeding at all if it can be helped.

As everyone here has said, even if it isn't anything she has a valid claim to, she will seek it out if she knows about it. Best to avoid disclosure if you can.

If it's an inheritance it's not communal so it's 100% yours. You want to lord it over her, do so after the divorce is finalized. Confirm with your attorney but you are not required to inform her.
