Taken more seriously because men tend to naturally be more assertive
Less likely to get sexually harassed/raped

That's all I can think of, seriously.

I'm an obese women and I still get catcalled all the time. It's annoying. Can't go outside and walk out the street without someone wanting to talk to you.

I went a vaca with one of my guy friends. We were talking about how I wish he could be female just for one day to experience what it's like. I told him to just keep an eye on if he caught anyone looking our way at the beach. I am obese woman wearing a one piece, not very revealing.

The whole day consisted of this.

Him: "The guy looked at us." Me: "yep."

Him: "The guy on the bike turned his whole head around to look at us." Me: "uh-huh"

Him: "The old guy in the speedo keeps looking at your tits." Me: "Sure."

I'm going to talk about Russia.

Privileges:

Better chances to find a job
Better chances to get higher salary (he needs to feed his family)
Better chances to get promoted
You don't get asked about your plans on kids as often as women get
There's no list of prohibited jobs for men (there's for women, these jobs usually involve heavy-lifting or dangerous working conditions)
Preferential treatment from some professors (to be fair, there are some who prefer girls, but I think there are rare). If you study in a "feminine" field, you're taken care of, as "we have so few men here". But if a woman studies a "masculine" field, she's quite often told that it isn't her place to do so and she should just get married and pop out some kids.
Less chances to get harassed by your professors, boss or colleagues.
Somewhat lower standards for dating and family life. You don't hit your partner, don't drink extensible and have a job? Congrats, you're a great boyfriend/husband!
Much lower standards for being a good father. You remember your child's age and what class they go in? Congrats, you're a great dad!

There are major downsides as well:

Compulsory conscription for a year
Higher financial expectations
Harder to get custody on kids
More chances to get assaulted (although lots of people find troubles themselves)
The age of pension is higher

Being taken seriously in the exact situation you described.

I cannot tell you the amount of times I had to call my dad when at an auto shop and he has to get on the phone with the mechanics and tell them to stop trying to rip me off

why did i call my dad? because i was 16 and wanted to confirm prices with my dad before i paid. it was my first car and i simply just did not know

They get respect when they talk and when they state something, whether it's an opinion or a fact about themselves, it is taken seriously.

Much more automatic respect, less having to fight to be taken seriously by doctors, employers, coworkers, etc.

Not being treated like a ticking fertility time bomb, and generally having people leave you alone about your personal life more. Women are constantly inappropriately questioned and concern trolled by everyone from their family to total strangers about marriage, birth, parenting, sex, really everything.

Physical strength. Men get into more violent encounters, but if they were as cautious as women, they really wouldn’t have to worry about being overpowered as much as women do. I put this one last because anyone can still be overpowered.

Outside of work and retail and service interactions, my contact with women is pretty much nil so I can't say if any of these kinds of stories are true. Where I work, I'd be considerably more respected if I were a woman.

you do not have the pressure of the ticking clock as much as women do, your value doesnt tank as hard and fast as a womens, you dont have to worry about giving up your career to have mentally healthy children, you dont have to be constantly “on” (helping with chores etc.), less parenting stress, higher self esteem, not having to compete with 18 year olds appearance wise, more respect that you dont hvw to earn

I'm not talking about the global reality or denying anyone's experiences but luckily for me and everywhere I've been, I never felt there is any advantage I'd have if I was a guy that I dont have as a girl. Maybe I'm really lucky but there's really nothing I can think of

Maybe in those 2 years around the beginning of puberty I just think girls have a more dramatic time and worse (more intense) social groups but that does change soon enough

Seriously though, I don't think there are a ton of benefits. I think those who see massive benefit are formulating a belief system around a simple human flaw, which is to see the grass as always greener on the other side. I tell people frequently how awesome it seems to me to be a woman in the modern day. How awesome that would be, the options I would have that I don't now, etc. Or to be LGBT, and to be 'in' in society right now, and only have to deal with dating members of my own sex where there isn't the massive understanding and priority gap I experience with women.

But I know those whims don't encompass the whole experience in the real world, because the grass is always greener. And when people think about how amazing it must be to be a white heterosexual male, they're having the same whims, but apparently some don't realize it.

Way less pressure when it comes to looks. Men aren't expected to waste thousands on make up, plastic surgeries and expensive clothes. Guy can look like a goblin and still be able to create a career even in a field where face value is important, there are a lot of not so attractive or down right ugly actors, musicians, influencers. If women isn't IG tier model there is no place for her.
Fathers are being praised for their mere presence. However, if man one day will decide to leave his family no one would blame him, futhermore, society never judges guys who are "spreading their seed" everywhere. Single fathers are super heroes.
Easy promotion via nepotism/bro-code
No harassment when it comes to hobbies. Men can play online games with voice chat without fear that they will be called fifty different gendered insults
Media culture is still male oriented for the most part

People listen to you in the workplace. If you’re a woman and you’re the boss, obviously they’ll be listened to, but if you have male and female employees not working at a high level in the company, the men will be listened to more.

I’m a woman. I worked under a female boss who was basically a female Gordon Ramsey, she was listened to. Because I worked there longer than most people, I was then responsible for helping the other employees and was told that they should listen to me, but there was also another guy who had stuck around for a slightly shorter time than me who also was put in that position too.

I generally got along with him, but he often tried to talk over me. The male employees would also often argue with me when I tried to arrange things to go smoothly in the workplace, as I was literally told by the manager to do so. Women listened to me, men put up more of an argument. It was tiring.

I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, but specifically being taken more seriously with regards to healthcare issues. Like women are less believed about their pain, whereas if a man says it hurts, he’s believed more.

I’ve seen a ton of stories where women aren’t looked at or given pain meds because doctors don’t take their pain as seriously, or think they’re exaggerating.

Always being talked over/looked over. At 5'2'' the 6' men don't even see me at meetings/events. Getting a word in is a struggle. This extends to advancements at work. Being physically smaller and having a quiet voice has a huge effect on how you're perceived. You're always assumed to be shy/sweet/weak, while the 6' guy is assumed to be strong and assertive. There was a world of difference in how I was treated working in a male dominated vs female dominated office, doing essentially the same work/same quality of work.

Also in the dating world you don't have to fear being overpowered. When going home with someone you don't have to think about what happens if you get pinned down/overpowered.

Social benefits are like being able to go fill your car with gas at night and not really think if someone is going to attack you. Or being able to walk to your car at night without fear. Being in an empty space and not having to look over your shoulder

There’s also not societal pressure in things like bridesmaids and baby showers. Or mom groups.
