Im a woman and i consider a high n-count anything over 8 for both men and women.

However, I have an n-count of 0 so a guy having more than 3 is too high for me.

I think its rather low, but I've also been married forever. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like to properly date, but then I remember most men are unremarkable and I probably would have had more regrets than memorable experiences.

Largely, I don't care.

My husband has an N count of 50 something; when we met I lied up (n count 6) as I wanted to establish 'cool cred' as he was a part of the libertine "free love" arts scene. Also, I had over heard him mocking a virgin he slept with cause she 'didn't know what to do', and I wanted to impress upon him that I knew how to fuck.

Anyway, most of the people in our UMC Chicago suburb bubble married in their mid 20's to their long time bf/gf they met at college, and while I don't know the particulars I'd estimate the average N of that cohort to be 7ish.

Given all the above, I'd say a triple digit N count is high and purview of dysfunctional people.

I’ve said this before but — I don’t care about the number, so I don’t wish it was higher or lower.

I regret the reasons I didn’t explore more sex with more people when I was younger, so I guess in that sense I wish my N-count was higher. But it’s not the number I actually care about, just the negative life circumstances that stopped me from dating and connecting with people.

I think it’s highly dependent on age, for example, a 19 year old with a body count of 7 id say is quite high. But if we’re talking about a 28 year old it’s not really that high. Generally if it’s more than 1 per year over 18 I think it’s high, so like 4 for 21, 5, for 22, etc.

Mines 0, so obviously isn’t high, and I don’t wish it was higher im waiting for the right women.

Personally, I think a high n-count is any number that suggests you've slept with more than 1 different person every 2 years. So a high n-count is anything greater than your age, minus 18 (the lowest appropriate age of losing one's virginity, imo), divided by 2. And a low n-count is anything lower than that number.

That said, I'd only date another virgin, personally. Just being low n-count isn't enough. I want my partner's to be the same as mine.

I used to dearly wish it was lower and actually joined therapy because subs like this and societal views convinced me that something was wrong with me. I began throwing up after sex when I first started (maybe around 6-8 n count) because I was so disgusted with myself. But I just liked having sex and didn’t emotionally attach through it unless I wanted to. (Later learned this is actually a skill because it doesn’t blind me the way it does most people and then emotionally hurts them). But for a year or so, I was constantly upset/paranoid that I was a sex addict.

After a year of therapy, I learned that hyper sexuality can be a form of SH and I had major depression for years and was bullied for being ugly and black. My therapist did not diagnose me with a sex addiction but rather specified anxiety and we talked about my depressive tendencies from when I used to have major depression. My freshman year I was also raped and the trauma led to extreme hyper sexuality to the point I had slept with two different people in one night multiple times. I also was consistently intoxicated, drinking, smoking, partying because I got flashbacks often. I cried a lot and don’t remember a lot of that year.

I guess if I would change anything it would be that rape is part of my count technically.

But with consensual encounters, I don’t regret it or wish it was changed anymore at all. I’m the happiest I’ve been with myself just in general too. I don’t base my worth off of that or my dating value. Every man I’ve been with exclusively, I’ve had no trouble staying loyal at all. I’ve learned what I like sexually. I’ve learned a lot about different types of people and situations. I have funny stories to tell, I can identify red flags faster. I’m knowledgeable (truly knowledgeable) about stds, stigma, pregnancy prevention, birth control, etc.

I’m always honest about my sexual history. I want any partner I have to love me for me and any guy who places any woman’s value on her n count wouldn’t be for me anyways. I found thst even when I was a virgin at 17, guys didn’t treat me better they just Fetishized taking advantage of my inexperience and naivety and taking my virginity. It was actually kind of gross. Now those guys stay away and the guys I meet are ones who truly care about who I am.

Instead of asking about my count, they ask me what flowers I like and who’s my role model in life and my biggest aspirations.

I think I like those guys better anyways.

I am fine with it, but considering i was at n=3 until a few years ago, i still have the feeling that i need to make up more experience i didn't get as a younger man. I think i'd feel more adequate with ~50 sexpartners for my age and my peer group. But there is also not a strong desire to "make it happen". I am content if i keep adding a handful of partners per year, going forward. I consider >60 to be high for men in their thirties. I consider >30 to be high for women in their thirties. I am 32 male. Straight. Very sexually open minded. I try to look at body count from a “ how did this affect the person or does their personality lend itself to sexual promiscuity” versus N is bad! But with that said, it depends on age to be honest. I count in a Age to Body count. Personally I think that a woman having sex with anything more then 5 guys a year is pushing it. That roughly equates to 1 guy every 2 and half months. This gives fair leway to meet date have sex and realize it didnt work out. So assuming she starts at 18, by the time shes 22 on the low end 12 - 20 different partners! Thats already insane! Now if this continues to shes now 30, any where from 36-60 partners. This my own assumptions too. Ideally I prefer a partner with under 20 sexual partners regardless of age, anything beyond that is just not my taste.

I really think this sub in general has a bias for attracting less social and sexually active people; almost all average men and women I know are above 10 for sure. My n-count here but many in this subreddit would be considered very low/ideal/close-to-ideal with some parameters and low by your definition here still if we consider all sexual acts with all genders. (So many people here think women don't count as a sexual partner or disabled people who aren't able to have intercourse but can still make you come, which I find ludicrous personally).

There is no n-count I mind in a possible date/sexual partner (or myself). I'm more interested in how they treated their sexual partners. 30 f bi, and my n count is... I don't know. Definitely high. Not over 50 but I stopped counting when I was young.
