I chose a provocative title, but of course it's more nuanced than that!

In my recent OP about male loneliness, many of the comments were fatalistic, and understandably so.

There seems to be a feeling that nothing can be done to "fix male loneliness," which according to many male PPDers, mostly means "male romantic loneliness."

I'm more optimistic. I think there is something that can be done to address one of the roots of it.

What you ask? Start raising "normie" sons.

Or rather start raising sons who can at least mask as "normie" decently enough and who feel comfortable and accepted around "normies."

This does not mean that we should stomp out individuality, eccentricity, or uniqueness. Absolutely not! It means that's it's okay to have the competency and presence of mind to know how to blend tf in sometimes. "Code-switch" as many of us Black Americans say!

Of course, you might counter this sentiment by saying many daughters are weird asf nowadays too. I don't disagree! We should start raising more "normie" daughters too! But let's be real. When it comes to sexual attraction, "not being normie" is more of a detriment to men than it is for women.

So with that being said, this OP is geared towards raising "normie" sons, since not being deemed sexually attractive is the chief complaint of men on this sub.

In my opinion, the most effective answer to the "male loneliness crisis" is for young boys' parents and his larger community to pitch in raising a well-socialized "normie" son.

It should not be understated that this takes ample effort from the parents, family, family friends, greater community, etc.

Parents CANNOT "latchkey" "laissez faire" raise an intrinsically introverted diffident perhaps socially awkward kid and then be "utterly shocked" that he chose to spend the first 20 years of his life indulging his more antisocial proclivities by existing solely on Discord or exclusively in online spaces as opposed to in the real world building IRL in-person confidence, rapport, competency, and social connections.

That young boy needed help learning how to integrate and socialize and his parents and his community FAILED HIM. Probably because his parents lack "normie" socialization, friends, and community as well. It's usually generational "lack of" tbh.

If we want the next generations of men and women to not suffer romantically as much as many of those of this current generation express that they are suffering, then sure it's on "society,' but it's also on parents. Parents have to be intentional about making sure their children are equipped to THRIVE, not just survive in a world that has become increasingly digitized, atomized, and isolated. In a world like this you HAVE to be intentional about fostering community for yourself and your loved ones. It won't just "magically" happen for you. You need to start surrounding yourself with community-oriented ilk and being the change you want to see for you and yours.

Admittedly, that takes more effort than some parents have the capacity or wherewithal to expend. This is why on a micro level, certain communities do better than others in this regard. It's a values and mindset difference. It starts in the home... in the community... in the respective culture. For example, as much as some people hate on "church" or "fraternities" or youth team sports... those things do effectively incentivize people to socialize and build IN REAL LIFE IN-PERSON connections on a weekly basis. Trade offs! People who do those things and have mindful parents will probably end up coming off less divergent than divergent. The less divergent you come across, the more attractive/appealing you will be to the masses.

TLDR: Largescale societal shifts don't just "happen" because "society." They happened because individuals built community and an infrastructure that sparked a flame that impacted the traction of "society."
