I understand what you're saying, but in fairness, I think pro choice women have kind of painted themselves into this corner with their rhetoric about "parasites" and "blobs of tissue". For years the pro choice rhetoric made it sound like the procedure and decision to have an abortion was NBD, so it's no wonder men bought into that.

I had an abortion so I can share some of what I experienced.

It was an easy decision for me. I was 18 and I didn’t want a baby.

It didn’t cost any money because I live in the UK.

However, emotionally it really took its toll. I don’t really want to go into something that personal here, but yeah, it really fucked me up and it took a lot of time to get over.

Also, it was the single most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. It was fucking agony. I was literally screaming in pain until they got me morphine.

Also, the nurse told me not to look at what was pouring out of my vagina. At one point, something huge fell out and, yep, it was a tiny 11-week-old fetus/baby (it looked like a baby). That hit me hard and I can still remember what it looked like clearly.

I want to say that I made a moral error, but honestly, I don’t regret it. If I got pregnant accidentally now at 24, I definitely wouldn’t abort though.

For all your complaining about restrictive abortion laws, most nations in continental Europe have abortion laws that are more strict than those within the United States, and we don't hear European women complaining about that. They are aware they may need to take a day trip to get their abortion.

Yes, some states have stupid little requirements for abortion like "you have to crochet a pair of baby booties, for women's health, before you can have an abortion." This is demented, but like I said, you can go to another state if necessary, and most of these stupid little requirements are unconstitutional anyway (and before you scream "but Rethuglican judges!" remember that SCOTUS was conservative-dominated when deciding Planned Parenthood v. Casey).

Then comes the actual procedure! That's not a walk in the park either, it's not easy.

Anyway, the point of all this is that women do not indeed get away scot free. We do have consequences. Men aren't the only ones who suffer when unplanned pregnancies happen.

Yes, of course women don't live a costless existence. That's part of the human fucking condition. Milk and honey don't fall from the sky when we will it. Nor does abortion magically just happen when a woman wants to get rid of the fetus. She has to actually do something or get some help to get rid of it.

So the issue is not that women face "no costs" but to compare costs. Woman gets knocked up when she doesn't want the kid? She can't be forced to give birth, so its a mild inconvenience for her as she can abort it.

Man on the other hand? Can be forced into parenthood and thus has to deal with eighteen years of side effects.

I also love how women call other women emotional wrecks and slaves to their feelings then in the next breathe berate men for doing the same. Additionally, I think you left out a huge consequence in the psychological toll of an abortion. Many women, if not most, feel as though they have just murdered their future child. It takes a very certain type of woman to believe a fetus is analogous to an unwanted parasite.

When people are discussing "men's rights" the ease or difficulty of abortion is not a component of their argument. Only the legality of abortion is relevant.

Look, there used to be a time when women couldn't go to college, right? Women complained about that (as well they should). Compared to going to the horror's of both pregnancy and birth at a young age. Having to somehow take care of that child, and to raise it. To make ends meet...

It's one of those things that I assume is horrific and painful to go though, but a year or a few years later you'll think back and say "I'm so glad I don't have to pay for a child at this point in my life".

If you have a clinic near you, and a few hundred bucks (in some cases less, but up to 1000), and time for the procedure... its outpatient, like getting wisdom teeth pulled and being down on pain meds for a few days while you heal. If you are used to gyno exams or ever had tissue taken to test for HPV / Cervical Cancer then you've been through very similar things (not exactly, and I'm not saying having your uterus scraped is easy).

Overall, its a "simple" procedure in most cases, and cost effective even without insurance.

I am not discounting the emotional turmoil involved at all, but there are a lot of women who have had multiple abortions (or claimed to) and a lot of outspoken feminists that have advocated so far as to say they wish they would get pregnant so they can abort it.

The picture that is painted by the abortion business, the facts about costs and procedure involved, and the vocal minority of women who advocate for on demand abortion...really REALLY make it seem like its super easy, barely an inconvenience.

It may be hypocritical of men not to immediately believe women about sexual assault...and then immediately believe A woman about how easy it is and paint all women with the same brush.

I honestly disagree on the 'wanting to protect that nugget thing'. The people that truly care about that usually care because of religious beliefs or personal convictions, and not because they are being driven by hormones. I know of girls that are entirely guiltless about abortoin and some have done it more than once.

It's not about how difficult the abortion is. Even without abortion, women can abstain from responsibility for a baby fairly easily. Whereas a man can only shed responsibility with agreement from the mother.

Also, even long after birth, couples can agree to just walk away from their child. It's not super common, but it happens.

Not that it's easy, because it's relatively common and a de facto option for a newly pregnant woman alongside being a completely triggering debate in the political sphere. Everyone knows what an abortion is, everyone know's it's legal, and everyone knows it's commonplace.

Then being forced to retire (if retirement is even an option) on a fraction of the money you could have had because all that money was spent on some strange person's kid whom the law gave parental rights to and gave you the "privileged" of seeing that kid 4 days a month (if you are lucky).

Honestly, the reality is that pro-lifers are concerned with the life of the baby.....which is why they always are talking about when a life begins.

Pro-choice advocates knew that they could not win that argument so they decided on "protecting women" and "my body, my choice" but in doing so they had to coach the procedure involved in aborting of the new life as a easy, safe, simple, healthy procedure which is humane and pain free both for the woman and the aborted fetus. Exactly the same as getting a wart removed at your primary care doctor or like having a root canal. Everybody was aware of how painful an experience birth was.

So it doesn't register with pro-lifers or most people after using the above for decades to "win" support for abortion to now change to it is a painful, dangerous and traumatic procedure...

Recently in the US, the comments by some of the more extreme abortion supporters in NY and Virginia about letting a born baby die if the mother and doctor decide that is their wish has caused a major shift in polling related to pro-life vs. pro-choice toward more people being pro-life.

I am not sure where the sudden lurch by pro-choice supporters to pushing for letting born alive babies die if the mother doesn't want them is coming from but those people really need to check themselves.

I don't know where you got this idea that men on PPD somehow think abortion is easy, but heck, I don't spend a lot of time here, so I'll take your word for it.

I personally think that abortion is one of the most dfficult things to justify ethically, and, medically speaking, I' ve never heard of any specialists refer to it as a non- evasive procedure. I fail to see how "easy" it could be, and it's perceived difficulty doesn't justify it's practice as the overwhelming majority of abortions are not necessary procedures.

If a man doesnt want a baby what does he do? Well according this this thread, when the man is the one who does not want to make a baby, right now there are few options for men. Condoms, Mr Right Hand, abstinence, a vasectomy. Someo f the options will have a chance for a baby. So the man knowing he has those options l, some of which arent 100% guaranteed, the man still chooses to play Russian roulette and put his penis inside a womans fertile vagina(who may or may not want a baby) and then says "well lady, its your job to prevent what I dont want from happening".. its the womans responsibility to cater to what he wants, while he gets to do the ONE thing that makes a babby. Could he have jerked off? Nah. Just be abstinent? Nope. Instead, he does the one thing that makes a baby and says "well lady, although i did not want a baby its now your job to get rid of it".

Men want their cake and to eat it too. Its the responsibility of whoever does not want children to prevent that from happening.

I never though that abortion was an easy procedure and i have the utmost sympathy for women who go through it. Surgery isnt fun, and choosing to end a human life is emotionally devastating.

I just wish i had that opportunity, too. If i could, i would go through the surgery and deal with all the bullshit so that my partner wouldn't have to. I would take it on in a heartbeat if it was possible for men.
