He may discreetly admit it to you in person or secretly tell his friend that you're not very attractive but he loves your personality and the things you do for him.

He may have had a history of dating conventionally attractive girls and baddies but with you, he felt more of a mental attraction than a physical one.

He may have made more of an effort with past girls but with you, he more or less does the bare minimum and only ever goes above and beyond during a special occasion. He may not fulfil all your needs but he provides just about enough for you to stick around.

He doesn't compliment you much on your looks but will compliment you mostly on your personality, your intelligence, your wit, your loyalty, how much you do for him, how much of a nice girl you are and appreciate you more for these qualities (technically the opposite of objectification).

Would that be something you'd appreciate or would that bother you deep down?
