Saw a post that mentioned a woman rehoming her cats because her boyfriend is anti-cat, and had to find out if that's as HUGE of a red flag to you guys as it is to me.

Without consciously discovering why, I've always had the association that men who hate cats also kinda hate women. Particularly, they hate knowing that women are people with their own thoughts and feelings. They also tend to live in fear of our judgement.

They never really like to explain why they hate cats, but it usually comes down to "attitude". Cats have physical boundaries that they will enforce with violence if need be. Cats are not obsessed with you. Cats are independent and play/have fun on their own. Cats are pretty and soft. You want to touch them, but you have to wait for them to want it too. Cats often enjoy your company just being being in the same room and not interacting.

In conclusion, men who hate cats are just indignant about having to respect the bodily autonomy of a beautiful creature because they think they are entitled adoration and see boundaries as an attack on them (cuz everything is about them, of course). Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
