There's an odd thing I've noticed about some single men who try to meet women on OLD without success.

You'll give them advice like meeting women irl, through social groups and hobbies etc, so they have something to actually bond with a woman over. Having something in common other than loneliness is important to make a relationship work and last. But they'll dismiss this advice totally - I don't want to do this, I don't want to do that, I don't want hobbies or going out..

They do fuck all and aren't willing to bother to make their lives more interesting.

But they really think women sit at home taking pictures of their ass all day long for IG likes. They think women do nothing, no hobbies, nothing interesting going on.

Wtf is going on? It's like these chronically online, chronically single men project their own boring lives onto women and get mad about it.

So it's pretty much a fact that pickmes are more likely to have children. Considering they pretty much need to get pregnant to feel like they're valid.

But I don't think there's really any generic component to being a pickme and the socialization component is actually probably negative, as in the children of a pickme are less likely to be a pickme cause they'll see how their mom lives and be like "miss me with that shit."

I've observed this too. My conclusion is that most men don't see women as real people as they see other men. And most of these men don't even like women, they just put up with relationships with women because they want the steady sex. And this group of men falls into two subgroups: the ones that have gained control over a woman. Those become mostly abusers. And those who have not managed to gain control over a woman mostly become incels.

My hot take from scrolling this sub is honestly most my guys here seem to be overly rigid thinkers. Wanting to put everything into discrete categories and then filtering their experience through that. Rather than simply experiencing.

And secondly, there's very low empathy. And I don't think guys are unique in this by the way, I think girls are also low empathy right now. But having low empathy is a great way to have poor outcomes in dating.

Instead of thinking say that a girl not fucking you on the first date is some giant conspiracy for her to get beta bucks or something. Maybe just talk to her? Like if on the second date, be honest. Say "you know, I really want to be intimate with you cuz I really like you, and that's one of the ways I feel close with a partner. I'm not gonna jump ship the moment we have sex".

And see what she has to say, I would bet good money she'd been burned on that front before, probably many times. Cuz while girls tend to take advantage of guys later in the relationship, guys tend to take advantage earlier in the relationship. So it may not be surprising she has some trauma around early relationship sex. If you're thinking something like "well isn't it unlikely most girls have that trauma", I would simply bring up things like how men seem to be really sensitive about height or penis size cuz those are things men are in fact shamed for both directly and in general society. You can develop an entire trauma complex without ever being traumatized. Like it really isn't that unlikely. Another way you can think of it is, if you meet a girl through a dating app, chances are she is part of a cohort that is frequently dating. So she is more likely to have encountered early relationship traumas than one who dates more rarely or only through friend referrals. In other words she is almost exclusively dating men who are pre-selected by friends for looks and morals.

Like and if she still doesn't want to have sex with you after expressing how closely you feel physical and emotional intimacy are connected for you. Well maybe you guys aren't a match, or you may decide she's worth waiting on more. Or maybe you want to delve deeper, you can ask her why she is so opposed to it besides "i'm not in the mood". I'm not in the mood is an explanation for why you may not want to have sex on a single date, but after several dates that's no longer a sufficient explanation. And you can think her explanation is bullshit and not date her anymore. You have the right to feel angry about it, never reject your emotions. But analyze them, like why are you getting angry? Is it because you aren't feeling wanted? Communicate that, I guarantee if you communicate some vulnerability if you feel it is necessary, like most girls will response well. And if she doesn't, well fuck her good thing you caught that attitude early.

Like honestly once you are past initial attraction(which is actually very influenced by external factors a lot in addition to basic physical attraction), which she probably has for you if you're on a date let alone a 2nd or 3rd or further date together. Then you need to move into communication. And if you're not communicating and instead wanting the world to make everything work. Then nothing is gonna work out for you in dating. She isn't a mind reader, and neither are you. Talk and build trust. That's how it works.

I’m glad I graduated in the era of WFH for engineering. My first job out of college was a standard 9-5 with a hour long commute and it was hell on earth. A 9-5 really is like how they show it on TV where you wake up, go to work, sit through traffic, run a few errands/work out, eat dinner, and you look at the time and it’s time to go to bed, repeat.

With WFH, you cut out the commute, and the 4-6 hours you’re at work where you’re twiddling your thumbs. You can also use lunch to run errands you would have done after work. I do miss shooting the shit with co workers but I have to come into office once every week or two anyways.
