I personally prefer hair, but not everyone cares. My brother went bald in his 20s and his wife has a thing for bald guys.

I have a friend who went bald but he grew his remaining hair out, dreaded it and shaved the sides, so basically he has a dread hawk mullet thing going on and it looks pretty awesome.

Shaving your head completely also works

I like hair, when I was dating, I wouldn't have dated someone that didn't have hair or balding. But I wouldn't say it's a death sentence, it's a preference. I only had that requirement because there were plenty of good quality guys with hair, so I didn't really have to give up anything for it. If my husband started balding right now, I'll be kinda sad but I'll get over it.

Definitely not a deal breaker. I suffer from trichotillomania, so there have been times in my life I have been bald as well. I dated a guy on and off between the ages of 18-22 who was a few years older than me and he started balding young, so I saw him go from full hair to shaving it down.

My husband was 30 when we got together and had just accepted his baldness and shaved his head (which looked much better than the thinning top he had before), so he’s been bald our entire relationship.

None of the men I've dated have been bald, but I haven't been single since my early 20s. I can think of only two men I knew who were bald at that time, and they were both dating someone.

Given how few guys seem to even do the basics for their hair (wash, condition if needed, etc), worrying about whether he's bald seems irrelevant.

It is not important. I am attracted to baldies as well as those with a mane long enough to braid Legolas style, or a thin wavy mop like Aragorn (I'm not even a big LoTR fan I don't know why I'm making this comparison).

When I was a kid my crushes were on Mr. Clean, Captain Picard, and Captain Sisko. It definitely influenced my finding baldies hot.

I don't find them hotter (or less hot) than people with a lot of hair, but it's one of the types I like.

It's a bit of a turn off if they have a combover but I have dated a couple guys with combovers and it was still good, they had other physical qualities that got me going in addition to being cool people.

I am not into long term relationships. I have had them in the past and about half were either bald or had thinning hair.

No thank you. Height doesn’t really matter to me that much, and it’s easier to find a tall man than it is to find a man with good hair, at least where I live. Thinning hair is understandable for men over 40, but even then I wish they would just shave it. All men I’ve dated have had a gorgeous hair, so does my husband. My top three preferences are thick hair, broad shoulders, and a good genuine smile. Those are surprisingly difficult to find.

I prefer hair. I tried bald guys. One was a fwb, another was somewhere between a fwb/boyfriend because I didn't want to be serious with him. It's not a death sentence.

I do greatly prefer hair though. When I seriously sat down to look for a ltr I did have "hair" on my must-have list because I also have good hair, as does my whole family. I'm pretty sure my dad would be a bit confused if I brought home a bald guy because even in his 50s my dad has amazing hair, and always stressed the importance of grooming and hair, as it's culturally emphasized in native and hispanic culture. It's part of why I have my hair very long.

My current partner has great hair and my dad was still like "meh" when I pointed it out lol.

I'm short and have also banged very short guys with great hair. I don't think I'd do the same with a bald short guy. The bald guys I was with were about 5'7" and 6'1". Neither is necessarily better or worse, some aesthetics just work better with baldness than others.

100% more "forgivable" with aging. Everyone decays. Holding balding, wrinkles, saggy skin, etc. against someone because of aging is just stupid. I wouldn't leave my current partner if he went bald suddenly. It helps that I think he looks cute even with a shaved head, I suppose. Aging is not a crime and if that's why you leave someone then the "problem" is you or something else, not them aging or going bald.

I know plenty of guys with bald fades who have no trouble attracting women, but I think short or nonexistent hair is just pretty standard for Black men in general. Idk if other men have that same perk.

Hair is probably the single most important physical feature for me. I love a thick head of hair on a guy and I've never found bald men attractive. I really don't know how I'd handle it if I married a someone who lost his hair, but thankfully my husband has excellent hair genetics so I don't have to worry much about that.

Second, the following list is based on attractiveness and personality, not money or celebrity status.

Men I would rather date over Jason Mamoa:

Captain Picard (ST:TNG) - confident men don't need hair
Jason Statham - I'll choose a sense of humor over a head of hair any day
Stanley Tucci - he always looks so polished & put together, love his style
Bob Odenkirk (technically not bald, but def receding hair line) - he's hilarious, dresses well, plays great characters...I just adore this man
Billy Zane - "he's a cool dude!" -Hansel

Why would I choose these men over stud-muffin Jason? Eh, Jason's not really my type. I don't prefer bald guys or anything, it's just that these men have certain qualities that light my fire.

I'm not personally into bald men, but that's because I'm super horny for long hair on guys. That said, I don't find them ugly. Just not really my type. I've dated a couple of guys who had shaved heads due to losing their hair and was just as attracted to them as any other guy I've been with. But if I'm like out and about, am I going to immediately notice and swoon over a bald guy? probably not. A guy with long hair and tattoos though? yes please.

My position hasn't really changed since I hit puberty. I did change my stance on beards from hating them to tolerating them if the rest of the package is worth it though.

My husband is silver-haired, straightened perfectly and worn one length about 6 inches down his back. Perfection. But curly hair is also amazing, as a crazy-haired person myself that look is the only reason why I'd give a double take to any guy.

It depends on how much it ruins or doesn't ruin your appearance. Physical appearance is less important in men of status. Short is worse than bald. Age is not a factor. I think if it hurts your appearance shaving the whole head is the answer. Stay away from finasteride.

I shave my hair and its not been a 'death sentence'.

I say this with zero bravado - but I get 5 or so matches per day with or without hair (I sometimes shave it and sometimes grow it back).

I do think it polarises some people. Some people I know ask, 'why did you shave your head?' which I think is a roundabout way of hinting they dont like it. Whereas other people straight up compliment and sometimes even touch it.

I love a full head of hair. It's just sexy. I don't generally feel attracted to bald guys. That said, if there's one that's otherwise very attractive, I'm alright with it. It's just not my top choice. A receding hairline is fine so long as it's not past the point of no return. If there's more baldness than hair--shave. I say this as someone whose family has strong hair genes (grandfather had a full head of hair into his 80s) so I'm sure that goes into it.

I find bald or balding men very, VERY unappealing. I've always avoided bald or balding men in my dating life and have turned down many men because of it (but never told them that was the reason). A full head of hair was always a must for me when I was dating and my husband has a full head of hair. Most women concentrate on a man's height but hair was MY deal-breaker.

Look, we all know guys shave their heads because they're going bald, not because they're making a fashion statement of some kind. To me, there is nothing less appealing than a guy sporting a greasy-looking shaved, shiny white dome. When I see that, I honestly think the guy is doing chemotherapy or is unhealthy. Only extremely good-looking men can get away with that look and let's be HONEST kiddies - most men aren't even close to that. Most are average if they're lucky.

I don't know what's gotten into our gene pool nowadays, but if you look at pictures of guys from the 50s and 60s you didn't see many bald men at all. What a difference from today.

He also works out and has big muscles and a salt &pepper beard so that is a plus. I grew up with him and knew him when he had hair…he’s just as attractive now as he was then, to me.

I'm in my twenties and would not date a bald man. Maybe I'd feel differently when I am older. I dated a man when i was 19-20 who was a few years older and starting to go bald. It wasn't attractive but I liked him inspite of it. I left him before it got really bad however, that wasn't the reason, the reason was he was an asshole but that's an added bonus is I got out before he became Homer Simpson. Now in my late twenties and engaged to a man almost thirty with a gorgeous head of hair.

In my personal opinion however, I think bald men all look exactly the same and it feels weird to touch. I am probably an outlier but I'd find it more endearing and attractive if a baldy owned a few wigs. I'm a creative sort and I find it a positive trait if a man tries to look attractive for his mate, it also shows he isn't afraid of not fitting a cookie cooker model of masculinity and is perhaps more respectful of women.

I prefer a full head of hair, generally. I always associated baldness with oldness which I think is common in Western societies. But then I started consuming media from East and Southeast Asian countries. And a lot of handsome Buddhist monks, haha. I like a clean shaven face and a bald head esp. on an East or SE Asian face, but I think bald men will try to grow facial hair to bring attention away from the baldness. Too bad for me.

For most women in their 20's its a deal breaker 100%. I like bald men and men with beards but I'm in the minority.

My only aggravation is men with beards that shave. A guy can go from super attractive to not attractive without one. Commit to the lifestyle.
