I recently found out about this and I dont see how people can be against paper abortions while simultaneously being ok with abortions.

Definition: Paper abortion, also known as a financial abortion or a statutory abort,[1] is the proposed ability of the biological father, before the birth of the child, to opt out of any rights, privileges, and responsibilities toward the child, including financial support.[2][3][4] By this means, before a child is born, a man would be able to absolve himself of both the privileges and demands of fatherhood - this is from wikipedia.

  1. Counterargument: the fetus is not a child, while the child is already born therefore they are not analogous.

Reply: this is an arbitrary election that has been made, science doesnt have the ability to tell what life is and isnt. This is a philosophical question that doesnt even have a properly answered. Being fully form and not fully form doesnt change that life is forming, so their really is no difference between a fetus and a child, just one is more formed than the other. Understand I'm pro-abortion and dont care whether the fetus is a child or not, this isnt the topic of the debate.

  1. Counterargument: men should be responsible for the child as he knew the consequences of sex.

Reply: this is nonsensical if you agree with abortion, women also have should face consequences, but we dont make them because ultimately women shouldn't be punished for this. In the same way men shouldn't be punished for their sexual choices that both weren't planned for. I dont understand how you can simultaneously agree that women shouldn't be punished but men should. This is an inconsistency.

I want to here more arguments against this from people who actually believe in abortions but dont agree with paper abortions because I dont see how you can hold one but not the other.

Edit: sperm doesnt obligate financial responsibility, if so sperm donors would have to pay for the kids that carry their DNA. People seem to forget this as well.
