Whenever a woman invokes 'A Real Man' she's casting herself in the role of being the arbiter over what makes someone a man vs something else (a boy maybe, a rock, a ferret)? It's a shaming tactic. If a man were to start telling women what constitutes 'A Real Woman' do you think any woman would listen, enthralled, hoping that they meet that man's arbitrary standards? (e.g "a Real Woman would drop to her knees and perform oral every time I walk in the room").

Second, the main reason single mom's are terrible partners is because their number one priority is their child (and it's not your child). Married men learn real quick that they are second to their kids, but this sacrifice is for his own legacy and comes after years of being her priority. To be viewed as a second class citizen for someone else's kid is not the same thing.

But wait, it gets worse. Often times keeping the father in the picture for the sake of her kid is a higher priority than you her partner. As an extreme example I saw a tictoc where a single mom said that she sleeps with her ex to make sure he spends time with the kids and her boyfriend just needs to understand that she will do anything for her kids. Now obviously that's an extreme example, but it highlights the status of not being a number one.

I think that opinion is a huge cope. Statistics show that the more educated you are and the more career oriented you are, the less children you have. This is why highly developed societies all over the world are having a declining birth rate. Why these statistics correlate, I don't know. But if that's the marker for a HVM then they're the most likely to avoid a single mother.

I want children, but I don't want another mans kid in my life. I want my own kid, with my wife. Multiple kids at at that, but me and my wife.
No, I'm not looking at single moms like that. What I'm looking at is at someone who has a kid with another person, and I don't want that. I have nothing against them, I just don't want to date someone with a kid from someone else in my life, that's all. I'd love to have kids with my eventual wife, though.
I do have the means. I'm still young, 23, but my father has some stuff that I'll inherit, and I bet that I'll have enough money for a kid when I do decide to have with my wife.

Is it really that hard to understand? I don't get the bashing that single moms sometimes get for nothing, but I don't want to date one, it's that simple. HMVs want their own children. Single mothers are bringing another man's baggage to the table.
Some predatory men date single mothers they put in the "fuck but not get serious" category. They see single mothers as desperate and with baggage that means they won't/can't get too clingy.
Most men want to spend their resources on their own genetic lineage. Some men will happily raise a child that isn't theirs, but they are the exception, not the rule and are usually lacking options. There is absolutely nothing low value in a man wanting his own children.

For a youngish, fertile man, there are no upsides to dating a singe mother, only downsides. I have sympathy for women in that situation, often it is not their fault, but the simple fact is, presence of a child reduces the mother's (serious) dating pool to near zero.

I have a tenant, he dated this single mother for a bit, she became comfortable with him where she would introduce him to her kid and why not? The man is a really nice guy who would give the shirt off his back.

Eventually I started to notice that I saw more of him and the kid than I saw of him and the womanand the kid or him and the woman. And it would be for weeks, he didn't notice until in somewhat jokingly said he should open up a daycare business.

1) a lot of them have impulsive decision making. If you take a step back… they had kids out of wedlock ignoring red flags of their partner. They chose Ray Ray and Pookie over you, now they need help and want to settle down… usually they don’t realize this past their prime at 35+ yrs old.

2) If things don’t go right. You invested money and time to build a relationship with her kids for it too go away in a blink of an eye when things don’t work out. let's break it down.

While essentially correct, men want their OWN children. When men date single mothers, they inherit all the responsibility and none of the control or decision making in raising that child. Compound that with losing any built relationship if a break up or divorce happens and it is exceedingly risky to make such an investment.

Men neither need nor want the type of stress, issues and existing trauma the majority of single mothers bring to a new relationship. We are not responsible to play fix it because they chose badly in having those children fathered by someone who wasn't deserving

Again no. We aren't viewing pieces of meat. The single mothers are doing that themselves. We do calculate reward vs investment risk and options.

If we see no value or reward then it isn't a smart decision to invest our emotions, time and financial resources into a bad decision.

Terminally online men constantly shit on single mothers, and blame them and make all kinds of assumptions about them and unfairly generalize them all as a bunch of sluts. It is also true that, even if a man doesn’t believe any of those things, dating a single mother is still far more risky and complicated than dating someone who doesn’t have kids.

Scheduling conflicts, different lifestyles, the possibility of having to deal with the kid’s father, and the possibility of growing close to a child, imagining becoming their step parent and getting to watch them grow up, and then the relationship ends and you never see the child again.

You don’t need to be a misogynist to agree that dating a single mother can come with a lot of cons. A man who wants to be a father but patently refuses to date single mothers might have some issues, and I think for a lot of men if the right woman comes along and happens to have a child, they would make it work, but all things being held equal, if someone doesn’t have kids, dating someone who does is a really big commitment that a lot of people understandably prefer to avoid.

But to say that a “real man” does X is, like I said, obnoxious and inflammatory. Taking a look at your post history, it seems like that’s the whole point of your entire account. This post could easily be rephrased to say “terminally online men constantly attack single mothers and that’s wrong,” but instead you went out of your way to phrase it in a way that’s overtly hostile.

I agree though I'm not sure I'd be as harsh on those who don't meet the standard. Poverty doesn't = a broke-ass bum anymore than being a single mom = a lesser person. I do think that someone who can't support kids but attacks single motherhood instead of admitting it is definitely a jerk.

The objectification idea makes sense most of all to me. A man who even primarily sees only a body isn't going to appreciate much else about the situation.

The type of man who feels indignant at the idea of raising a child he didn't create is definitely not state of the art level or really even average as far as the best human qualities go. But maybe calling him a child isn't accurate because he may actually be as mature as he's ever going to get and his problems are based in a lack of humanity overall.

My father happily helped raise my mother's firstborn and a whole bunch more of us who were created by anonymous couples that neither one of them knew. So I know what I'm talking about first hand.
