I want to make this clear up front: I’m not against any of this. Accountability is part of equality.

But here’s something most people don’t realize: for decades, women’s incarceration rates have been rising, while men’s have been slowly falling. That shift tells a story.

For a long time, society treated women with what researchers call the chivalry effect, the idea that women are naturally less dangerous, less responsible, or less likely to commit intentional harm. Courts and cops treated them accordingly.

Now that women have more agency and independence, that protective shield is fading. Being taken seriously also means being held responsible.

At the same time, science and technology have changed how men are treated. DNA, cameras, and better forensics have exonerated men who never would’ve had a chance decades ago

Meanwhile, women are newly entering categories of crime they were rarely charged with before:

Domestic violence arrests involving women are rising. Female perpetrated abuse in same-sex relationships is being acknowledged.

The “women are wonderful” effect is shrinking year by year. And here’s the next frontier: female sex-crime prosecution.

With OnlyFans culture and public sexual content, plus more documented female offenders in same-sex relationships, laws are catching up. When I was young, the big fear was a man flashing someone in public. Now I’ve seen influencers openly committing sexual acts in public videos and not one has gone to jail that I know of.

This might actually be a side effect of feminism no one talks about: once you demand equality, you inherit the consequences with it.

Women may need to prepare for a world where equality includes equal scrutiny, equal responsibility, and equal punishment.
