It's not a regular study, but there was an old episode of Mythbusters that looked at whether women liked men with higher status jobs that earn more money. They ran the experiment with a bunch of women in an audience.

They female host claimed that it was a total myth. When the results confirmed that women found those men more attractive, she switched to justifying women's preferences. I also think there's something to be learned about her reaction and how it affects women's dating advice. Her initial reaction was to deny it because it made women look shallow. After the results came back, she switched to justifying it - essentially arguing that women aren't shallow, they're just doing the smart thing biologically. In effect, she was more concerned about how the claim made women look, rather than what was actually true. This could also affect women's dating advice. Example: "if I admit to myself and other people that women like tall, good looking, high income guys, it will make women look shallow, therefore, I will deny or ignore it. Just be yourself!"

I’ve said this multiple times before; stop basing your opinions of all women from what some ppd women have told you. The average ppd woman is around 40 and married to an average, middle class man. Of course she’s gonna say money doesn’t matter that much.

Now try asking a woman in her mid 20s who is actively looking for a partner whether a guys financial status matters or not.

I will say one thing; if you are unattractive (my case), no amount of money will make up for that. You need to pass the resume screen of looks and only then will your money act as a “cherry on top” for women.

Also, you need to actually spend that money to get results. Buy nice clothes, get a cool haircut, buy skincare products, go on exclusive vacations, buy a nice car, house, etc. Some men seem to think that women are metal detectors. Women like men that are rich AND generous with their money.

If you’re the typical Silicon Valley cuck that makes 800k but won’t buy a $4 coffee, enjoy your life of virginity.

I'll be honest, I don't see that much. If anything women these days are absolutely shameless about how much they are driven and drawn towards money. They are quite open about it really, often to a point of desperation.

I don't think anyone is saying money doesn't matter. Everyone wants access to money. Hell, try asking a man if he'd prefer a sugar momma who bought him things over a cheap woman who doesn't like spending money.

I think the issue is more with the folks saying women only are attracted to money. That's like saying men are only attracted to a woman's looks.

Obviously, people are attracted to more than just shallow things... unless they're shallow. But most people aren't so shallow as to only like one single thing about their partner.

For most studies about money and dating, you need to consider their partner's likely economic background too.

Women aren't saying "money isn't important" lol. Obviously nobody wants to live in a cardboard box or not have the finances to fix their car when it breaks.

But money after basic needs are cared for is not a huge issue. Like I don't need an engineer. But I do need somebody who works and has the means to support themselves.

Studies show that once you have enough to pay for your basic needs with some basic luxuries, happiness and life satisfaction doesn't really increase after that. That's why rich peolke still are depressed and kill themselves

The tinder Swindler claimed to be rich for a reason. Women think essentially if they don't say "I like there personality" people will look down on them. So you will almost never get an accurate answer on how much they value looks, wealth and status.

Most women are aware they are not going to end up with a super wealthy dude. Just like most men are aware they are not going to end up with a swimsuit model. Generally super wealthy dudes and swim swimsuit models end up together.

The thing about women answering that money isn’t important. For most of them when asked something like that they’re imagining a guy they already like that has a lot of positives going for him. They like how he looks, how he acts etc. So money doesn’t hold as much because they already like him so as long as he can support himself they’re content. The women are also genuinely independent themselves. They make enough to be self sufficient and plan to stay that way post-relationship. Money only starts to matter beyond that point(man making enough to be self-sufficient). When he has too many undesirable traits otherwise. When that’s the case he has to compensate somehow and money is usually the go to to do that. Which your study shows.

The reality is that most people love being impressed and when you have money, it’s much easier to impress someone.

People are generally looking for life partners and subconsciously, whether people will admit it or not, financial security is a huge deal we consider when dating.

It’s also a cheap easy trick to gage how smart someone is. Rich people are generally intelligent and money smart. It’s a major green tick without knowing anything about the person.

Personally for me , I've had ample opportunity with men that are short , unattractive, and that had money. No amount of money talk, or display could sway my visual dislike of them. Literally the thought of sleeping with a individual like that sicken me. Maybe this is more of a masculine view on dating or looking for a LTR . Idk , but for myself . Unless sexually attractive it wasn't happening.

In rare cases I’m sure money is the only reason some girls date, but in the end it’s just as shallow as any other reason someone would pick a partner. So I don't have a study, but from experience women TODAY can make their own money. They are no longer dependent on a man's income. If worst comes to come she can depend on the government. There are other options as well which I won't go into details (eg. prostitution, etc)

I mean women on here say that an average men is making 120k yearly at 24 or 25. Only people in tech or wealthy people with connections are making that. I don’t see female doctors marrying male nurses or female executives marrying entry level male workers.

Women absolutely judge income. They do it in an indirect way. For example a women says she wants a guy that has fun and his life together.

Women will say that money doesn't matter, but that doesn't mean they won't take it into consideration whenever they are looking for a partner. Maybe not the highest earner within her selection, but someone who is earning, say the bottom 20% of income will have a far lesser chance of being picked within her selection. Money may not play a huge factor, but it does play some kind of factor in this.
