Your limbic/mammalian brain wants to Eat, reproduce, sleep, shit and repeat this cycle. But your limbic brain is too primitive to be allowed control in human civilization. This is where the next layer in your brain, the cortex comes in.

Your cortex is a servant to your limbic brain. He will coax you with all sort of reasonings so that you "eat,reproduce,sleep,shit and repeat". Your need for intimacy is a mask for your actual need to reproduce. Your body will reward you with some feel good hormones if you can convince a woman to pass on your genes.

A lot of people think the cortex is their friend, and that they are in control of their actions. I think some philosophers such as Schopenhauer and even neuroscientists now are realizing that it is the limbic brain who is in charge. If you don't do as limbic brain wants, it will make you suffer.

Currently your objective long term self-interest and limbic brain's demand for sex are in a war for control, from my pov, the limbic brain always wins, perpetually single people are miserable in one way or another.

Way to entirely miss the point

Women's self interests aren't the only self interest that is relevant to anything anywhere. The entitlement and hubris inherent to this is as laughable as it is sad.

No one owes anyone anything other than following the law.

And that's why commitment means so much more. It is not owed or enforced, it is a choice that is a testament of appreciation for all that is done and continues to be done for the relationship. It means a lot socially, emotionally, practically. I completely agreed with you that it's not owed. Can it be objectively appropriate, however? Absolutely? If you don't want to give it when it's probably usually appropriate, there can and will be some form of consequences (for lack of a better term). When a woman has been holding otu for commitment and extremely clear about it, and you use that agaisnt her in any way, it's abuse. It's abuse which is just as bad or worse than making you wait when she didn't make some other guy wait.

In contrast, the average woman age 20 in the US is roughly 5’4”… 97% of American men age 20 are 5’4” or taller. This is not a restrictive desire at all.

Nice try, but I’m not slinging shit, and I actually legitimately am qualified to teach college level and many PhD level math courses. I have a PhD in physics, surprise. I’d probably have to break out a textbook to remind me of all the subtle nuances and specific definitions about stuff I don’t use everyday anymore, but then, so do most professors.

It’s obviously not a hard requirement like dating a man is for straight women, since there are numerous women who don’t “require” it and marry men their own height or shorter. Nicole Kidman, for example, is notably taller than either of her husbands. Also Charlize Theron with Sean Penn, Sophie Turner with Joe Jonas, and obviously Peter Dinklage and his wife. What women do ~~(are too ignorant to)~~ not understand about their own sexuality/behavior is that it isn't about an absolute metric, but about relative comparison.

6 feet is the standard for height because it is the top 14% of male height. If this FDS idiot got her way and all the short men went bye-bye, and all of a sudden male height ranged strictly between 6 feet and the max height out there, women would still be wanting 6'1", or 6'2", or whatever, just so that she could have a man that wasn't near the bottom relative to other men.

It's not just height. It's why we see the 6 figures requirement. 6 figure salary is statistically in the top 20%. It's why 6 pack abs is a requirement. You are definitely in the top 20% of physical fitness if you have a 6 pack abs.

There was an Asian Boss youtube video of a man surveying Japanese women about what kind of boyfriend they'd want. When the subject of height came up, she said "tall but not too tall." When pressed by the reporter, she said "I want him to be taller than other men."

By the way, this is not a condemnation of women. It is a good thing for a species to have a sexually restrictive gender, that imposes barriers for entry, whether it be consciously or subconsciously. I sympathize with men that say "women have ridiculous requirements, we men are so much better!" but the reality is the fact that the human race ancestors had 1 man reproducing for every 17 women helped spread superior genes than the alternative.

The problem is we live in a society post scientific revolution, post enlightenment, where civilization has reached a state where monogamy is the norm and 1:17 gender ratio is viewed as unacceptable, even in the middle east where polygamy is practiced. Given this, statistically, not all men are going to meet women's requirements.

It isn’t so much delusions at this point as it is a general lack of empathy. So I had sex once at 17 but I wasn’t able to get a full erection because I was nervous so I don’t know if it counts, and then I didn’t have sex again until I was 21. When I was a teenager I never had trouble getting girls to like me, it’s just they never wanted to sleep with me and I would become really angry about it, so looking back no wonder they didn’t want to sleep with me.

As a teenager I’d hang out with girls, make out, hold hands, do hand and mouth stuff, but I never had sex.

So like in my head I’ve always viewed myself as an incel until I realized that the reasons girls didn’t want to sleep with me was because I was mean to them.

Rather than taking this knowledge and focusing on being a better partner to my girlfriend I instead used this knowledge to become highly manipulative.

Now the problem is that I don’t feel guilt about it. If anything I feel guilt about not feeling guilt about it. But deep down inside I get off on being this manipulative person who leads girls on and hurts them.

And that is sick. I should enjoy hurting women emotionally like that.

I’m conflicted because I feel like most women I meet are kind and gentle, I don’t buy into the AWALT thing, i don’t even think hypergamy exists to the extent that it’s talked about here.

My experiences with women have always been positive but still it’s like I just want their bodies. The thing I like about being unfaithful is when the side girl knows her place in my life and keeps her mouth shut and is obedient to me.

I’m like the most red pilled blue pill person or something. I’m sympathetic to the struggles of women but it’s like my desires are more important

It started with the FDS podcast, where the latest episode brought on a conservative pro-Trump woman. The women who brought her on wanted to hear from women with a variety of opinions, but were not American and probably did not understand how heated US politics are.

This caused a backlash from their overwhelmingly left-wing users, and their mods acted like mods and deleted some posts critical of the decision, so there was a backlash against them too. They are now divided between people who want to put politics aside and unite as women based on their common experiences, and those who think conservatives are so anti-women that they do not deserve a platform there.

So going private is an attempt to limit the fallout I guess, and they will probably try to keep politics out of things in the future as it tends to derail the conversation wherever it is brought up

Well I like both guys, I actually didn't like Wilder making a shit ton of excuses after the last fight but I don't think Tyson Fury really wanted this fight, but it was contractually obligated so I don't think the same motivation is going to be there, I also think Anthony Joshua's recent loss also kills a lot of motivation because there was big potential for a superfight there and even though he's a tall man Tyson Fury's camp said that he's put on 20 lb which might hurt his stamina and I think Wilder is just more motivated and hungry, and I think he's taking the right steps he got a new camp and all that shit so that's my main reason going with Deontay Wilder, now I can say that a little more casually because I don't have money on this fight like I did the last one, even though I appreciate Tyson Fury winning me the cash lol

They're not pointless at all. Once a restraining order is in place the evidence required for a conviction goes way down. If a man or woman is at a location in violation of a restraining order responding officers can arrest him or her based on the existence of the order and the fact the officer personally witnessed the violation. There's no need to wrangle reluctant witnesses. It's also almost impossible to defend a violation of a restraining order case where there are third-party witnesses (i.e. cops).

At least in California, the punishment for violating a restraining order is pretty much the same as the punishment for misdemeanor domestic violence. Bottom line is that restraining orders make it much much easier for DAs to get convictions.

Also, only a tiny fraction of restrained parties fragrantly violate restraining orders (lots more push the boundaries). A piece of paper is not going to restain a person blinded by rage but for the vast majority, restraining orders more or less work.

When I was in LDR with my wife one of her TA's in college was really nice to her, invited her to come to some club of his. I told her "he wants to fuck you" but she said "no he's just really nice".

Well the university she was at had a typical "No relations with student or get kicked out" policy.

So she gets out of the class (he gave her a higher grade than she earned), and I get a phone call.

Fuck there’s this girl I talked to today. Beautiful, dark skin , long hair. You guessed correctly, the main people pushing this are GenX women who are in some sort of boss position between the team boss and main boss and they have promoted few women to some leading positions on teams, too. The company got complaints previously about not having enough women. There are also one male Millennial poc who's a boss on one of the teams, and he is also on board with racism accusations. He says he has always experienced racism here. They have updated their policy against all forms of discrimination and we have meetings about it.

Almost all of the Zoomers here are POC, half of them girls, so you can imagine lol. We have had a few incidents over last year, including the time when BLM protests were held. So we have had a few people cry, mostly girls but even one white guy. I don't like the victim complex and I'm not a leftist which means I'm not with them. But the situation is becoming worse.

PPD Friday Journal:

Gallon Milk Guy was at the gym today again, with his gallon of milk and I got to see his routine. He ALSO has a gallon of water (in a milk container) and he has both with him. He runs between the machines and stations with both jugs. Lets say he's on the pec dec and goes over to cables, he will run/fast jog over, shaking his jugs, literally. He never walks.

I got to talk to him briefly when he decided to do some ab work next to the power rack I needed and he was in the way. Seems like a nice guy but dumb as a box of rocks, probably sandstone.

Also at the gym were 4 Indian college age kids trying to gym max I assume. They didn't seem to know each other as they never interacted and I'm near a college, it just stood out that there were 4 of them in an area more white/hispanic. One was in acceptable shape, the others had that soft puggy look guys who eat a bit too much and don't work out enough get in their early 20's. Its not a good look guys if you have it, it makes you look soft in body and character.

Finally self assessment. Arms good, shoulders very good, back great, legs good but thats genetic, abs non-existent but still adonis belt, been cheating on my macros way too much after work. Today wasn't that much better had a donut and then ate my lunch early to avoid donut 2.

And I think that's really not fair and we should do what we can to try to make it to that as many people as possible can get a reasonably happy life.

Yeah thats not really possible. Life isn't fair and some people won't ever get everything that could be considered part of a normal life. Some might have enough food and water but might be alone for most of it. Some might have more than they'd ever need along with a bountiful sex life and a beautiful wife and kids later on.

But framing it like women = easy mode makes it seem like the problem is that some people have easy or fulfilling lives rather than the problem being that some people can't.

It's both. They're two sides of the same coin. Since everything in the universe is finite, some people will have things while others won't be able to.

I don't know about you, but the incentive of someone else being happy and extending my sphere of positive influence is a good enough reason for me, especially if I don't lose anything from the interaction. I can't solve big problems like solving poverty or loneliness by myself, but I can offer to help a new person in town meet people, or donate stuff and money (I do lose a bit here but the minus to me is much less than the plus to them). Help someone pick up groceries or medicine when they're sick. Or just say words of encouragement, or simply notice and compliment someone's talent. I can't change the world, but I can try my best to give other people pleasant experiences with me.

For relationships, the incentives to do things for others starts with you wanting them to like you back. But eventually it should also be about wanting your partner to be happy. Even if they don't like you back, or if you don't like them, you can still try to make the dating experience as pleasant as possible for each other.

Overall, I'm trying to get at the fact that we can make a lot of improvements to someone's life without having to take from someone else. Let's start there first without being all zero sum about it.

It gets to zero sum at some point, but I think we have a lot of room before it becomes really transactional. You can also give away something that means less to you than who you're giving it to.

For example, my friend is sick. It really doesn't hurt me that much to buy some medicine and groceries and maybe cook something for her while she's bedridden. But the benefit to her is much greater than what I gave up, because at that moment she was sick and unable to do these things.

Same with me noticing someone is really good at rock climbing, and just telling them that I noticed that and admires their talent.

I literately don't have to get anything back from any of these interactions to feel ok. I'm not even that upset if that friend suddenly wants to stop being friends tomorrow, it would be weird, but I did the best I could've and would've still been proud of what I did. I'm not gonna dwell over the grocery trip and cooking time I spent on that. Most of the time it does result in something nice, but I'm not expecting it.

In relationships, both sides need something, but that's just the basis of a relationship, not a zero sum situation. Doing something nice for my partner usually don't take away from me. I can compliment my partner, there's no loss to me there. He can be really affectionate, which makes me feel great but costs him almost nothing. Zero sum things do exist, it's just that it's not an excuse to not try to make non-zero sum improvements in society.

Overall, I'm speaking on how society can improve. If someone's struggling in life, they should focus on themselves and try to let others help them. Of course don't be a jerk and at least be neutral yourself rather than a negative, but it's ok to leave the bulk of the society improving thing to people that have the time, motivation and mental space to do it.

Yeah, I would interpret “I’m decent looking” or “he’s decent looking” as generally confirming something generally pretty positive about their looks without trying to brag. It’s polite understatement, not shade. It sounds like part of the kind of manners and morals I was brought up with: to not openly brag and not to be vain.

Honestly the way the guys coming down on you is so weird, like they want an immodest woman who would rudely crow all about how her man is hotter and has a bigger than any other man or something, and if she doesn’t put on that rude show, then she must think he’s ugly. Judging her for not gushing that he’s the hottest man she’s ever been with seems so incredibly weird, especially given the context of the post. Like… is that really the time and the place for her to be telling everyone he has an 8 inch dick or whatever?
