I think this is a false misconception and gives young guys a false view of dating when they are older. The truth is in everyday life and statistics. I have personally never seen my friends date older guys (Im 20f) and all relationships I've seen the two people have been about the same age. So why is it that (old males 35+) don't have young females attracted to them?

1.Society does not except this behavior in everyday life. Most females think it is creepy behavior when an older guy is attracted to a young girl. I agree with this because young girls possess childlike qualities. For females as we age those younger than us look like children- me myself now view 18year old's as kids. Its hard to stomach as women why a guy would be attracted to child like qualities and we cant help but feel a sick feeling in our stomach. A protective urge comes over us as we don't think anything good will come out of this situation. So therefore even if a older guy and young girl want to date they will suffer negative backlash and might have to avoid social occasions with family and friends due to this backlash an disdain.

2.Females are attracted to money but also looks. I think everyone on here knows that females do actually hold looks as very important. Contrary to popular belief a lot of guys look worse as they age. Guys who are 10s when they are younger will most likely still be attractive as they age because their good genetics shine through (eg George Clooney) but for the average guy their looks decline as they age and they don't miraculously get hotter. Its hard to have a relationship with a guy without being attracted to them. A lot of guys will say that working out overtime will mean you're hot by 30, however I believe that women value face and height more than body. I'm always so confused when guys will say that they will sleep with an unattractive faced girl if she has a good body, because personally I don't even consider a guys body when hooking up, sure don't be obese but apart from that it doesn't factor into my thinking or attraction. So therefore if a guy doesn't tick off the physical attraction his money wont matter that much.

  1. The exception. Young girls may overlook looks and societal pressures if a guy has ALOT of money. Guys may underestimate the amount of money they will need to make to get young girls to date them. Guys who make a 100k a year might be able to have a young girl for an hr that he pays upfront for but she will not be interested in any unpaid time. Young girls might date an older guy seriously if he deposits thousands into her bank account, lives in a multi million dollar mansion, drives a Lamborghini and wants to travel the world. Even then its hard to be with a guy if you truly aren't into him. Which brings me to the second point....

  2. Personality. Females place personality as important- they like funny, charming guys they can relate to. Talking to older guys can be like talking to old relatives- they don't excite you. Unhappiness in relationships can be caused by being with someone you cant relate to in any way- which is why age gap relationships are hard. Its the little things like having similar experiences from being in the same generation and being at the same stages in life- growing up together.

  3. Summary. I think it is a weird belief that the average guy will attract young girls as he gets older. I believe it is ALOT more common for guys to be with young girls when they are young as well. Even guys who do well in life usually end up with someone their age. It is not common to see age gap relationships outside of Hollywood or the ultra rich. So I'm not sure why this

  4. Statistics:

— Couples with a 5-year age gap are 18% more likely to split than an equal-age couple.

— Couples with  a 10-year age gap are 39% more likely to break up

— Relationships with a 20-year age gap have a 95% chance of splitting up.

So which relationships were the most likely to last?

The study found that couples with an age gap of just one year had only a 3% chance of ending in divorce.

This is my view as a younger female. I would love to hear your opinion.
