There is definitely a social cause, and that's the utter degredation of the family unit and social isolation brought on, in part, by the internet age, by corporate alienation, and in part, by radical feminism.

Men weren't always isolated. We used to have male friendships through work, through shared religious or value-oriented organizations, shared community organizations and through our families.

But men today have no families, our work is often atomized and when it isn't is often male friendships are actively discouraged by corporate culture that wants to break up "boys clubs". We have dwindling religious belief and even those that do tend to have little actual participation in religion, and while it's fine not to be religious, we have nothing that is filling in those gaps either. What few organizations we have left are usually forcefully made to integrate women and while that isn't always bad. It can be. Because men are never as comfortable among mixed sex groups as in single sex. Just like women.

I have become charismatic, strong and emotionally stable. Now, I experience almost no armor from men or women because I am socially accepted. That is just the reality of being a man. Actually, they are being needlessly guarded. The data simply doesn't back up this assertion. Crime statistics show that - sadly - women are overwhelmingly victimized by friends and family. Not strangers. Decades of propaganda have traumatized women into a permanent state of stranger danger. In reality, if you happen to be walking in an alley at night it's far more dangerous to be a man.

Men are not defective women. Beyond the obvious, testosterone plays a key role is thinking, focus, visual-spatial processing, memory, verbal fluency, and executive function. Do we really need to demonize a fucking chemical because it happens to be categorically adjacent to men?

I can see how men might convince themselves that their feelings of emotional desperation is personal weakness as opposed to a symptom they're all experiencing from White Imperialism.

This one is a real kick in the teeth. It simultaneously invalidates men's struggle while also blaming men for their feelings directly and by proxy. Menslib shit.

Let's be clear - Men are in a desperate situation because:

Education. Schools are increasingly designed for girls comfort and success. Women now completely dominate the teaching professional - especially in elementary school at a whopping 90% of the pie. Studies have shown bias by female teachers towards male children. Boys have no male role models in schools and no male perspective is represented in the rules, aesthetics, lesson plans, and activities of these institutions as they grow and evolve. Boys now drop out of school at far higher rates than girls. A huge amount of all grants and scholarships are reserved for women and many programs have affirmative action programs to fast track women in. This is despite the fact that women make up the majority of university students. Boys go to school in an environment that invalidates them at best and is outright hostile to them at worst and don't receive a single ounce of help along the way.
Relationships/Marriage/Children. Perhaps the most tragic of all. Men are drawn towards women, love and cherish women, need women, and generally have better outcomes in loving relationships. But modern society has made this an extremely risky and dangerous proposition for men. Female privilege is on it's highest display here because it represents a direct intersection between men and women. Today men have no power at all in their relationships with women. Family courts, divorce courts, human rights tribunals, legislation around the legalities of relationships, and state sanctioned power is all dramatically tilted in favor of women. If the woman chooses the man's life will be destroyed completely. He'll be financially destroyed and yet completely alienated from his children. We often hear about how the suicide rate for men is so much higher. Look at the data - it's far worse than you imagine. Guess what kind of men are killing themselves off an epidemic levels? It's these men. Men who have had their reputations ruined by false accusations, lost their family, friends, and home and access to their children in a divorce.
Feminism. The dominate and accepted gender ideology touted by huge corporations, politicians, and governments. I could write a book, but you don't have to look far. It's right in the byline - we live in a patriarchy where men have all the advantages and women are oppressed. When feminism guides the legislation and public institutions of today it shouldn't surprise anyone that men are getting the short end of the stick tomorrow. If any other identity group spoke about any other group the way feminists speak about men they would be labelled a hate group. Look at the author of the image talk about Testosterone - she has hatred of men down to a science.
Cultural Discrimination. People hate men today. Turn on the TV. Maleness is constantly made fun of. Men are the butt of every jokes. Watch that sitcom - dumb stupid dad bungles again but it's ok because his level headed wife is there to step in. She's a saint to love that stupid oaf. Why not go sit on the bench in the park by the jungle gym? No? Just remember. Men are oppressors. Men are creepy. Men's hobbies are gross. Testosterone makes men stupid. Why don't you go start a dialogue about men's rights at work? Oh you got fired? Well, after all many outlets consider this sub a hate sub and MRA a hate group. It goes much deeper though. There is a class of people who no one writes about, no one discusses, no one celebrates, and no one cares about. It's those driving trucks, freezing on rigs, cleaning up your trash. It's overwhelmingly men, and while society gazes scornfully at a very small handful of powerful male CEOs and statesmen, this giant underclass of men makes society actually function. Unadorned and uncelebrated.

This is just the very verbose tip of the iceberg. You'll notice that the majority of these are not just cultural but institutional. That's real oppression. The "women are wonderful effect" permeates everything. This post is nothing to celebrate - just more of the same with a twist.

Women are aloof towards men because they see men as disposable or beneath them. They do it because it allows them to exert some form of power over men and they get off on that sense of power. They do it because it pushes men away and enables them to play on the defensive. They do it because it reinforces the idea, or the gender role, that men must approach women and that women should not have to approach men.

Well she's missing the old friends part of being a man. I think one of the fundamental differences between men and women is that women have an in group preference, they tend to have lots of surface level friendships but not a lot of really deep friendships just like any man only has a couple deep friendships. The big difference is men don't open up to those surface level friends we only open up to our closest friends. And this person has not had the experience of growing up with a close set of male friends. Give her a couple years to get acclimated and make some friends and things will change though women being aloof and horrible to you never will.

This is just further proof that so much of the trans movement is just brainwashing done to confused youth, that leads to a lifetime of trauma and disappointment. What an incredibly cynical and one sided take. Clearly another reason why women cannot be men. What this woman doesn't realize is that the female social dynamic she is describing is coddling. Men do not do this because they are not valued for their sex. Our whole dynamic is based on competition, and our value stems from competence.

A woman has intrinsic value, unless she degrades herself and damages that public image. This is why female bullying often takes form in reputation destruction. Bringing down another woman's value.

A man has no such value, he is only value is based on his competence. This is why the more a man is successful in his competition with other men, and the more he can display dominance, increasing his value.

You cannot change this through social engineering. This is how men must act in order to be useful. Most men have evolved to adapt to this, the games we play as boys instills in us the need to compete and improve, while also teaching us to be fair. The act of the game is not to win, but to maximize the number of games you get to play. Men compete this way in order to maximize the potential for growth.

I won't pretend this isn't lonely for some men, especially those men with more feminine personality structures. However, the higher a man rises in the dominance hierarchy of competence, the less likely it is that he will feel this way, and a lot less likely that he will be treated as a threat. Men who are highly competent are as desirable as females who are highly attractive and virtuous.

I do find these role reversal experiments interesting though. In a fantasy world, we would all be required to BE a member of the opposite Gender for a year. This would be eye opening and immersive, and I feel the differences could be appreciated rather than just noted as they seem to be today. I think deep down inside we as women realize that it’s not a bowl of roses being a male, and some of us admit it. Most see though, by admitting it and acknowledging it, that’s the first step to losing some of the privileges we now enjoy. We’ve made great improvements in laws for instance, to make them gender neutral. Unfortunately, how those laws are applied and adjudicated is not gender neutral. Women enjoy the herd mentality and socialization. We support our sisters, even when they are wrong, as far as bending over backwards for justification. Most often, even when blatantly wrong, the herd will simply be quiet, rather than castigate the woman. Guys tend to be more solitary, and don’t really team up to support each other….. in fact, there’s a large amount who will support another cause, which doesn’t support men, just for some vague ulterior motive of fighting the good fight, and maybe, just maybe, women will give them the respect they so badly want. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen in reality….. they don’t really get the respect they want, just a “ thanks for recognizing your male privilege and patriarchy”, but are still lumped in with guys.

This rings true enough i was gunna send it to one of my conservative friends, but i think OP drops the ball with the white imperialism line at the end. True or not, it's problematic and rough language, and unlike every other statement OP makes that's at least backed up by personal experience, this is just thrown in. No example of how 'white' imperialism caused this or anything, it's just taken as a given.

And like, i think it's a wild oversimplification to call men being emotionally malnourished exclusively a symptom of not only imperialism, but white imperialism. Like, OP is framing the victims of imperialism as being the colonizers, because as OP points out, men are more emotionally intimate when there's a big bad, and colonizers and the trauma of imperialism is a very big bad. In my experience, the native side of my family (canadian) is very emotionally open.

So, instead of imperialism, lets call it capitalism. I know they go hand in hand, but natives in canada cannot change that we are victims of imperialism, but we can change if we're victims of capitalism. (Ya know, ideally).

Finally, calling it "white" imperialism only makes sense if you decide that doing imperialism is what makes people white. Otherwise, you're either ignoring places that have been colonized by non-white people but are suffering the same thing, or grouping in a ridiculous amount of the world as "white".

OR (& i guess this may be considered coarse/impolite) - the author might be so ugly to both genders no one bothers with them & it has nothing to do at all with them being trans - it might just be because they are ugly - since ugly people are avoided & not really socially interacted and/or accepted by either sex.
& the person is only, sounds like, describing mostly, American men - since america (or is it basically British originated?) has such stunted ideas about sex and gender and roles and manhood and womanhood.

Is funny to see how he has a very "sesame street" way of thinking when it comes to how women's relations are. Like only for the casual fact that two people have a vag*na, then immediately means these will have a good and healthy relationship.

That is far from reality. I am sure that some of the women here on MRA subs have stories about how they had been rejected by other women when they find out that they are not feminists, which for them means they are "traitors" to the feminist cause.

And I, as a man, don´t expect all the other men in the world to be my "brothers".I prefer to judge a person on the base of his/her actions, like any other intelligent man or woman will do.

I'm a woman and I really don't get how most people automatically think like that around guys, sometimes I have been with company in the park and things have been said like 'that guy looked so creepy' or something along those lines, and it's just been a normal middle aged dude minding his own business. It really does anger me sometimes to be honest, I get that sometimes things can happen, but it's not ok to say something like that if the dude hasn't even done anything except walk down the path!

more like how society naturally is. i do actually blame women for this “guard” she speaks of (i believe you should give everyone the benefit of the doubt. trust that someone is a good person until they give you a reason to think they’re not), but i don’t hold it against them. that’s just how we have decided to organize ourselves.

as far as how man to man relationships go, yeah. i think western (specifically american) societies have put too much emphasis on masculinity (or have developed an image of what they think masculinity is). i never share negative emotions with the homies. only the girl i’m dating (if i’m dating anyone). i never share my compassion for the homie. we never address any meta topics between us. we just enjoy each other presence doing whatever it is we have in common.

im a very depressed person but i think a lot of it comes from trauma which hindered my ability to be a person which just further alienated me from society and make it way harder to fit in and build relationships but i think generally HER summary is valid.
