Trying to be a "bad boy" when I was 20 pounds overweight and balding got me the harshest rejections of my life. Fixed those two things and women are now way more accepting of any approach I use and the rejections are not harsh. Lesson learned: looks are king and being a bad boy doesn't compensate for it. Each person has a different vibe. Sex is important to me and part of my vetting process. Why wait for some arbitrary number of dates or months or whatever? Same with availability - I’m either busy or I’m not. Why play games?

Also, a lot of men do get sensitive about paying for dates. I’m not going to push someone away because I never offer to pay. It’s about balance.

Just be yourself is a common one. Over the years I’ve worked out it’s more about putting the best parts about yourself forward but still acknowledging the parts you don’t like. People can see though someone who is fake and will generally like someone who is wired but real then someone who is a complete fake.

Wear your interests on your sleeve and let them filter people. If people don’t like it they can fuck off, there’s another 4.5 billion people of the other gender.

Don't call first/don't answer his text too quickly/don't always answer his calls etc.
Dump him, if he doesn't pay for you, because it means that he doesn't want you that much/doesn't really respect you
Also don't talk too much, let him do the talking
Don't show that you're smart, men like stupid women
Long hair protects you and your husband from illnesses, also keeps him attracted to you. Your feminine power is in your hair.
Wear long skirts, as they fill your with feminine energy. Pants are bad.
Wash his feet every evening, as it shows your respect
Let him work for both of you, as you're a woman and your place is at home (that wasn't intended to be offensive, but it kind of was)
Premarital sex is bad, make him wait till you get married
Don't cohabitate until you're married
Make him guess what you want

These tips aren't consistent because they're from different people and the most bizarre are from a girl I used to hang out with, but she got into some religious tradcon stuff. It didn't turn out good for her and she stopped talking to me for telling on her abusive boyfriend.

The amount of men that used my question-asking and active listening skills to wax nostalgic about their fucking bitch ex Jessica, I could have the clinical contact hours to be a licensed therapist.

Pro tip fellas: if a girl is a good listener and is actively participating in the conversation, practice some situational awareness and don't assume that just because she isn't shutting the conversation down, she's interested in what you're saying. Your story may not be that interesting and she's just a good listener, and your lack of reciprocation is very much noted.

This advice was terrible since coincidentally none of the men I dated were looking for something serious, let alone a spouse. I had a 1.5 year relationship that ended because he didn't believe in marriage. He wanted to keep dating me as a forever gf and I said no.

After that relationship ended, dating felt like groundhog's day for the rest of college. None of the guy's I dated regardless of where I met them, their age, attractiveness level or sociosexual status were interested in discussing marriage even in the abstract. Usually things would end because "I wanted too much too fast".

Dating at 25 is a different story. I was able to find my boyfriend no problem and he was more than happy to both commit and talk about marriage as a future goal to work towards relatively quickly.

I think that people's timelines are just different than the timelines my parents had in terms of commitment and marriage. Unfortunately I was too naive to catch on.

When I was in a very new relationship, my BF and I (we were 24F/26M) had tentative lunch plans before work (we worked together and would see each other that evening regardless of the lunch date). I knew he had a tendency to sleep in til like 2 PM and he lived an hour away so it was very much a, “Maybe we’ll grab lunch before work if time allows,” but not set in stone. This is some of the most crazy advice out there. Telling men to change their true personalities, put on a bunch of fake confidence without the skills to back it up, and use this to manipulate women into sex. Literally “con women into having sex with you” is some of the most common advice.

It’s one of the main reason we have so many single mothers. Some guy acts confident like he has all his shit together, but after the pregnancy it turns out that was far from the truth.

If a woman only likes confident men, then she must either date uncommonly amazing men or liars. And it’s way easier to lie than to actually live a life that inspires all sorts of confidence. Trying to tell young men to be confident for no reason, you are turning them into immoral scam artists.

He should walk on the outside, come to the door to greet you, open the door for you, help you with your chair and pay the bill; that isn't old fashioned. It's a sign of respect, demand it. Playing hard to get is the not only the worst but dumbest advice I ever have gotten. Sure some people like a adventure. But here is the thing if you’re interested don’t wait around on the other person. This goes for men and women. Just go for it. Okay maybe not too fast but flirt and don’t play hard to get. If someone doesn’t seem approachable or even mean I’m not going to talk to you. Even if you’re the most beautiful woman in the world (or for the ladies most handsome man) if you aren’t approachable then who is going to want to talk to you. Looking and smiling is much better. Seriously, if you look at me and give a smile I’m much more likely to approach you. Maybe you’re shy though but just try and be sweet. Guys love sweet girls. If you make yourself not look interested on purpose then well they are going to just think exactly that. You aren’t interested. Then find someone who is. Don’t be afraid when the time is right to start a conversation. The nervousness honestly is kind of fun if you just push yourself through with it. I really don’t understand what people in their minds think is attractive is about... not looking attracted. It may work for some people but the vast majority of people would much rather you show interest otherwise they will simply move on. So ladies and gentleman if you’re interested THEN SHOW IT!!! Don’t play hard to get that is counter intuitive and I don’t understand why anyone in the world would think this is good advice
