You frequently hear nonsense like 'Dear men, the bar is on the floor. Just don't be a disrespectful pig and shower everyday. And bonus points if you can pay your own rent. Sincerely, women'

Yet my experience - as with many guys I've spoken with - is that dating has gotten much more difficult, especially online dating, with women being more likely to ghost and flake than ever before.

If so many women really hold such a low bar, why does it feel as though any slip up and it's over? (slip up could be saying something they find off putting, taking a bit too long to reply, not entertaining them enough, coming on too strong, taking too long to come onto them, not measuring up to the other guys she's talking with etc)

Is this just some rhetoric circulated by hurt women who have had run ins with disrespectful guys? Is it some weird virtue signaling exercise? Or is it said facetiously and I have just missed the sarcasm?
