The one source of those figures has this as the source caption: Federal Reserve Board’s Survey of Consumer Finances and author’s calculations. I tried to find it myself by going to the FED website. A few days ago I was doing HIIT in the gym and this man (probably about 50) came within a foot of my face and started like mimicking my movements without saying a word. He was so close I could feel his breath on my face. This went on for about 5-10 seconds before I broke the tension my pretending to rest and drinking some water. He walked away while I was taking a break.

I guess he was trying to be funny but it came off very creepy. It also didn’t help that he was also low key tracking me around the gym.

I made the mistake of recounting this story in front of a male coworker (I didn’t tell him directly, I was telling my female coworkers and he happened to overhear). My female coworkers agreed that it was creepy. My male coworker butted in and said the man at the gym was clearly joking. All this showed me was men will never know what it’s like to be a woman and get your space violated or get unwanted attention. I think men should stop trying to police what women find creepy.

I can't find the comment anymore but I do think about it pretty often. This guy was explaining that most girls who are slightly above average are so used to having average guys on rotation that they actually lose track of who's in their league.

Since guys aren't as narrowly classified by their looks as women are, a woman will think she has a shot at a LTR with a guy who she thinks is a 7 but is in reality a 9. This guy is only looking at 8's and up for serious relationships and can string along 6s who think they have a shot because he's giving them attention. He's doing the minimum of interaction so he can fuck the 6s with as little legwork as possible.

Was watching the original Top Gun last night and one thing I noted was how strong Maverick came onto Charlie at the beginning of the movie when they were at the bar, which is behavior that is discouraged in today’s media.

Now I’m 31 years old and not too keen on the dating/hookup scene back in the 80s but Charlie enjoyed the attention she got from Maverick and his comrades in the bar, which I’m guessing is reflective of the way things were back then.

With the recent feminist movement do women just not enjoy men coming onto them this strong anymore or is feminism just a tool being used by women to separate the betas from the alphas or to increase access?

Asking because I was hoping to get your view on how to address this situation with a girl I like at work. I’ve been crushing on her for a while and saw her a couple times a month when out with work friends. We always got along well but I never really flirted with her. I think she’s been more complimentary towards me but still not anything obvious to make me think she likes me back. She’s grabbed my arm/ shoulder and said it looks like I’ve been working out, complimented my shoes, height and asked to walk together when we both were heading in the same direction. After outings I would sometimes walk her home/ she would offer to walk me home. One time she suggested we go to the gym together so I texted her later to set it up. She said yeah and said we should also go for a walk afterwards. So we did that, went on a 3 hour walk picked up some beer from the corner store. We ended up back near my house and she offered to walk me home. I didn’t invite her up or anything since we work together and I’m not convinced she likes me. A week later I texted her again, word for word:

Me: Yoo want to get some steps in next week? Her: Possibly, if I’m not up for running everyday I responded that I’m in town Monday and Tuesday and that was the last of it.

That was 3 months ago, also the last time I texted her or messaged her at work. From that message it’s obvious I like her right? I know it’s not super direct but it gets the point across. We now talk if we bump into each other but I decided to not message her directly since I kinda took “possibly” to be a soft rejection. A few nights ago a bunch of us from work went to the bar. I didn’t speak to her there but was taking with a few friends outside afterwards and she caught up with us. Me and her started talking and I told her about an upcoming test that I’m stressed about. In response she told me that I can do it and started playfully punching me in the abs( I still had a sweater on) and telling me to flex. She also again commented on how I’ve been going to the gym.

Do you think she’s interested in me? I would like to ask her out perhaps more directly but want to be sure she likes me back.

I recently made friends with a girl with a private Snapchat and the amount of pathetic men she gets is insane. Guys paying money for "cock ratings" etc. Imagine being so fucking sad. We both laugh and make fun of these guys all the time when we chat.

She did ask me once if I wanted to buy something and I straight up told her I'd rather neck myself than pay for her stuff.
