I've had a few conversations on Reddit and IRL that have me wondering if women think that men should never reject them. On places like the online dating subs, when a man rejects a woman, even if he does it gracefully, before he sleeps with her, etc, people tend to side with the woman. In the reverse case, you guessed it, everyone praises the woman for politely rejecting a man.

I had another conversation here where a user essentially told me that men would get rejected less if they simply waited for a woman to approach him (many men would die obviously die alone if this is what we did).

I work in an office where our office manager consistently follows me around and forces me to pay attention to her. I've politely and professionally declined her offers for drinks. She will open up phone booths/private areas where I'm working without asking to "ask me for favors" or ask to borrow my computer or otherwise find ways to inconvenience me so that I have to pay attention to her. I don't want to date this woman because I'm late 20s and she is mid 40s and I don't like dating people I work with. My guy friends agree that this is frustrating but my female friends tell me I'm an asshole for not "giving this woman a chance." I honestly think if I told a woman to give a man she wasn't attracted to a chance I would be viewed as a scumbag.

Even in relationship situations where my partner wanted sex and I wasn't in the mood, she was completely destroyed, attacked my confidence, masculinity, etc. Obviously if a man acted that way he would be viewed as a terrible person and borderline rapist.

To what extent is it normal for men to reject women? Is being rejected by men more humiliating, less humiliating, or similarly humiliating compared to the reverse? Have you ever been rejected by a man you liked? How do you think you handled it?
