Some men age well, but a majority of men who are average will stay average. You also have to keep in mind that your health and looks can absolutely deteriorate and take more time and effort to manage as you age. Hair loss, in particular, does not help men at all in this department, and is very common for men over 30 (got a hair transplant myself in my mid-20s). Regarding your finances, getting your money up isn't going to impress a ton of women unless you're making crazy dough -- I've made more money over the years, and it's actually been more of a hindrance in my experience. However, you'll probably be more rooted in yourself and fewer things will bother you if you've played your cards right, so improved confidence can factor.

The "wall" is also dubious depending on the woman. There are women in their late 30s and even early 40s who look great and still have many pursuers. Many of these pursuers will even commit to them. Will they get the "high-value", silver-haired dudes they're looking for? It depends. But the absolutism of the "wall" is pretty overblown. Most women will get pursued to some degree for the majority of their lives.

I think there is some truth to it but a lot of people on here seem to misinterpret what that means.

Society doesn’t inherently value youth in men as a positive like it does women, conversely it does value things like experience, status and maturity. When it comes to beauty standards on a whole we are less harsh about signs of ageing in men than we are of women (wrinkles, grey hair etc). When it comes to non physical attractiveness women find things like emotional maturity, status, wealth etc attractive, all which are traits an older man is far more likely to have than a very young man.

The problem is there are a delusional few that believe that all that means that they will become more attractive to very young women the older they get which just isn’t true. If you look after yourself, work on yourself you can maintain physical attractiveness into your 40s but the demographic of women interested in you will get older with you.

Most men age like milk, although celebrity men and women may have the resources to avoid it somewhat (they still look worse, but not as much worse). I mean seriously...22 year old men on average have better chances of pairing with a 22 year old woman for casual sex or for a long term relationship than 35 year old men do. They do find settling down with a partner their own age easier in their mid thirties than women do but a positive change in their own attractiveness on some measures is nothing compared both to the negative change (ewwww old man balls) and to the other aspects of the situation that make pairing easier.

The entire game changes twice...once in the late twenties early thirties when women are facing not having kids, and then again in the late thirties early forties when average men who are single due to divorce or just laziness start seeing their older friends face aging alone.

TRP overstates the positive effect of age for men, to some degree. Guys that are attractive when they are young will probably remain attractive when they get older. Guys that are unattractive when they are young will probably remain unattractive when they get older. Ugly guys have a change to become more attractive if they put in effort in their career or physique, but the odds are stacked against them either way. Like, they can work out, but the attractive guys will work out as well. And of course attractive guys will have better chances at most careers too.

Age will not fix your issues. You need to work on yourself and make your goals independent from acknowledgment by the other sex (this is true for men and women).

If you're an unattractive guy who self-improves, you might become more attractive to women in your age bracket later on. Unfortunately, that's all you can get if you hoped to get younger women (I'm talking about genuine attraction, no beta buxxing, gold-digging, etc.)

A minority can attract them, but they were most probably already attractive when younger to begin with.

It’s a bell curve. For men, your 30s are supposed to be your peak. A man who is 22 years old, fresh out of college and just getting started in the world really doesn’t have much to offer a woman when it comes to a serious long term relationship. He has limited earning power, limited status, his social network is probably just friends from college/highschool, and like OP said, he’s young, immature, and naive. He may be in better shape physically than a man in his 30s, but women don’t really choose men based on physical appearance alone.

Compare that to a man who is 32 who has moved up the ranks a bit in his career, is earning more money, has a fancier job title with more status and weight to it, has expanded his social network to include other established individuals, and who also has acquired more life experience and wisdom. Women will find this man more attractive 9 times out of 10 because he has more to offer, even though he probably put on a few pounds and can’t dunk a basketball or throw a football as well as he used to.

Now once you hit 40 you start to hit the decline on the bell curve. Your earning power continues to increase, but at 40 years old your age starts to catch up to you fast and it becomes harder to balance the scales with status and income. A man making $80k at 32 is generally more attractive than a man making $110k at 42, assuming all else is equal.

Of course it doesn’t work this way for all men, of course there are some bums out there who sit in the bar all day at 32 years old watching football and reliving their glory days when they took their high school team to the state championship (and they would’ve went pro if they hadn’t blown their knee out). But as a general rule of thumb, your 30s should be your prime years as a man.

In general, most people age poorly. People just get fatter, and fat isn’t a good look on either sex. For those who stay in shape, you can see a difference. A woman looking old is a bigger dating liability than a man looking old. But the proportion of men who age well is a tiny sliver of men. They are the top 20% (or whatever percentage is being thrown around nowadays). And just like dating in the 20s-30s, they’ll command most of the attention.

What most of the revenge fantasy folks don’t grasp is that it takes work to be in that top tier, and that work starts now. And if you’re putting in the work now, you’re probably already somewhat desirable as is.

I'm not posting picks of my 20 something me because it wouldn't be fair at all. The 20 something me didn't have time to work out, didn't have money for a diet, wasn't sleeping well, I didn't had even a clue about what to wear (and I'm not even taking into account the money I needed to buy those clothes) just working at shitty jobs to stay ahead and struggling to get with same age girls who were dating older guys who had cars, a nice place and more confourtable and easier lives.

A decade later I'm in the best shape of my life, I have a car, my place, I'm confident, well driven, quite well off, I've learned to olay guitar, piano and bass. I don't go to the gym. I own a gym.

Men don't age better than women, that's largely cope. But what is true and the actual point in all this is that looking ugly or old isn't as much of a roadblock for men in terms of dating...for the simple reason that men can compensate for their looks in other ways.

In other words, men are more shallow about looks whereas women are more forgiving if a guy has money or is confident, funny, charming, talented, sociable, or famous. So men have the potential to become more attractive with age in non-visual ways because women's attraction is highly contextual.

It’s not a rule, some women and some men get better with age because they have access to better pay and benefits. Some youngsters are good looking although might not be able to dress or take care of themselves as much. That means they’re not always able to use their potential to the fullest. Once they have access to money, it gets better.

I think TRP uses any possible thing that they think can hurt people like ageing, obesity and remaining single. I believe that is because they’re mostly afraid of that happening to them. It's rooted in the fact that our fertility doesn't completely fall of a cliff as drastically as women's in middle age but it's also cope. But the thing is, you become so much more content in yourself. I surprise myself how much I don't engage with the opposite sex even if they're sending lots of signals. On the income side of things, yes you'll find that your increased earning power does afford you a certain poise but, again, you'll often finding yourself wanting to avoid women who light up at your good income unless you're into the sugar daddy life.

All in all I don't think men age much better than women but increased maturity and income (which doesn't always come with age...met plenty of older broke/immature dudes) will reap positive rewards.

This post comes up all time. Men’s SMV maximizes much later if he maximizes his potential. Men are attracted to youth, beauty and fertility. Women are attracted looks, money, and status. I am in my 50s and I have to say my 40s and 50s have been my best years with attracting women 20-40. I was invisible during my 20s. Bad teeth, losing hair, scrawny. I got educated, good clothes, plastic surgery, and hit the gym.

It depends who you ask. The way the world works now, yeah, there is truth to this sentiment. Men traditionally gain more resources the older they become. I also saw a study that women find men in their early to mid 30s the most attractive while men find women in their early 20s the most attractive.

The “men age like fine wine” thing is mostly bs. The average, aging American male is not exactly at his prime. The only real defense I’ve seen is that men don’t lose collagen at the same rate women do and their skin tends to be thicker so I guess there’s that? But this isn’t a cure all.

Anyway, fhere is truth to it because of how the world is right now. And by world, I’m talking about our society (I’m assuming you’re in the west). Young women flocking to or being picked up by a way older, physically unappealing, rich man is nothing new. Is it predatory and gross? Depends who you ask, but imo, yeah, it usually is. Does the fact we think it’s gross change reality? No, it doesn’t. At the same time, are TRP followers delusional if they think this works 100% of the time and will personally work for them? Absolutely lol.

TRP is a totally different thing to TPP. Their goals are different from most people here. I’m assuming many people on this sub want long lasting relationships and ultimately marriage; but TRP’s end goal is obviously not marriage or commitment. So they promote ideas that, while harboring some truth to them and seeming creepy to us, help them reach those goals (ie getting with many/any woman they want/gaining enough wealth to secure their ideal woman/etc).

So yes, depending on the woman, you might become more “attractive” as you age. Obviously we’re aware of the double standard between men and women in this sense. As someone else mentioned, though, women are outpacing men in terms of income, so how long this trend or idea can retain popularity or realistic applicability, at least in the US, is up in the air.

Happens all the time. How many times have you seen a very attractive young woman with a very average looking guy? Once they've been bagged so many times with nothing to show for it women start to reorganize their priorities. A very average looking guy at any age that treats a woman good will win out in the long run over a good looking guy who treats them bad.

I think the extreme end of things is a little far-fetched, sure it happens but it's not a common occurrence. But generally the RP mindset for the individual is a good mindset to get into in your twenties and implement before 30. Forget all the youngsters talking shit about women they're still in the anger phase. The core principles of looking after yourself and furthering your career into your 30s really aren't bad initiative's.

It sort of depends on you. When I was in high school and college, I was broke and skinny, and didn't know how to talk to girls. At the age of 26, I would say that I'm in a much, much better position financially, I have my own apartment and I'm looking to buy a house soon. I can finally afford to eat healthy on a consistent basis, and I do workout, but I'm not yet "shredded". And I can at least hold some type of conversation with people of both genders. I would say that in terms of "aging", I still have a head full of hair, and I don't have a "gut". And based on what other men in my family look like at old age, I don't think that I will lose hair when I'm older.

If a man takes care of his body, continues learning, building wealth, assets, doesn't have 5 divorces, 4 estranged children, and a ton of debt....yes, a man can get better with age.

Exercise, clean diet, consistent rest delay aging to a small extent (for men and women).

Party hard, drink heavily, smoke, do drugs, sleep around and fight STDs...you're going to look like trash by 30.

Also, it helps if you don't lose your hair, which isn't really a choice. I never lost mine and was told I look 28 a month ago. I'm currently age 41.

The men that take care of themselves, yes. And I go as far and say that they beat out women that take care of themselves.

There was a non RP subreddit that asked younger women(18-30) if they prefer older men, most there said yes and many of them said 35-45 is the prime.

I never looked at women and thought to myself 35-45 is prime lol. Not even close. I think 25 and rarely up to 30. After 30 it’s not a steep downfall except for the party girls, it’s just a slow decline year by year.

This does not include success or game, just attractiveness. Wrinkles don’t look too bad on men unless it’s extreme. Women seem to wrinkle more, 2 points I notice is around the outer edges of their lips and corners of their eyes.

And I can’t tell you how hilarious it is to see all the older women get their panties in a knot on r/relationships, not even read a post and tell the woman to leave over 5-10 year age difference or more, exception only comes in if both the woman and man are 40+, bc no one gives af about the old people age gap then. It’s super super common to the point I can guess half the responses just by looking at the age gap.

But very rarely do you see a man posting with significant age gaps.

The majority of people in general don't get better looking as they age. Some people (most of whom were very conventionally good looking to begin with) maintain their looks, (either through good healthcare/grooming or just luck, or a bit of both) and remain desirable to a lot of people as a result.

Someone who most would consider average (let alone the ones who were considered bad/below average looking) becoming better and better looking in the conventional sense as they get older is highly, highly unlikely. There are a few rare cases where people achieved that through styling/dieting/exercise/plastic surgery, and even fewer where it somehow happens naturally. Overall it's very, very unusual in both men and women.

And either way, the majority of young people *do not* want to sleep with, date, or marry people much older than them. And those of them who do largely do so for financial/career benefits, because they struggle to find people in their own age, or because they have issues.

Only delusional red-pillers push this whole "cute 20 year old girls are *actually* more attracted to 50 year old men than guys their own age" theory because they want to believe their sugar babies are with them because of attraction rather than just money.

No, it’s not true. I just realised something today. Men blame women for wanting a certain height and attractiveness. And in a way it’s true but ONLY if he’s older. Today as I was swiping on a dating app and there are so many men 10 years older than me interested. If I am to date someone 10 years older he better be tall and attractive and have something extra to make it worth the age difference. If he’s similar age to me Im fine with average looking and average height. But Jesus these average looking guys thinking they can just get with someone way younger… why? I get that they have been brainwashed by movies into thinking some average joe can wait until he’s 40 and then magically find a younger woman to have a family with. But no, you don’t get more attractive as you age. The only women who would go for an older guy would be because the guy is above average looking and she wouldn’t be able to find someone as attractive nearer her own age, or she’s after his money.

Yes you could actually become more attractive as you age if you are more financially well off and have grown as a person. It doesn’t seem uncommon for men in their 40’s who keep themselves up physically and are successful to have plenty of women interested in them.

That said, I don’t believe 20 year old women have any interest other than money or daddy issues in men twice their age unless the man is rich and famous. Even those women probably wish they were sleeping with someone closer to their age. They often end up taking off with a lot of divorce money only to end up with a guy in their age group.
