I think there definitely is a valid idea of a “smaller pool” as everyone is generally already married or already in relationships with the person they’re going to marry at 30.

I personally don’t notice any difference though; there are too many people on the planet now. If you live in a big city, you’re never going to have a shortage of options for meeting men, and if you’ve had LTRs in the past, chances are that you have a personality that men like to commit to.

The wall, as much as I don't actually like that term, refers to two things, a woman's fading looks and her fading fertility.

It's long been established that men go for you get women to commit to long term relationships because of youth equating to beauty, and similarly equating to fertility.

When women hit 30 their fertility starts to wane, it becomes much harder to conceive a child and much harder to carry that child to term, along with development and mental issues increasing year on year. Again all established facts.

Now in the red pill theories a woman who had hit the wall then can still be useful for an evening but not somebody who you'd take home to meet your mother, she isn't somebody you'd invest in long term, as men age they generally tend to increase in status and wealth, more women are doing that now too but here's the difference.

Post wall women tend to want a man who is at least, equal, meaning of the same social status and earning potential or higher than they are. For younger men building their career that's almost impossible and when you add in many young men want a family some day that makes the post wall woman a liability.

For men of the same age as her and who meet the criteria of earnings and status etc, she carries too much baggage from previous relationships, compares you to others, thinks she can do better, again a liability.

So you say that you don't see them getting less attention, if argue you're looking at a very small set of women of this age and that your looking at the wrong things. Many women will say yes they can set up a dating account and within minutes get a 100 matches but quantity does not equal quality.

Similarly sleeping with a post wall woman does not equate to a long term relationship. Also is well established that post wall women tend to lower their standards as to what they look for in a man because the attention they get is lower, while younger women have their pick and can flatter their egos by picking what they perceive to be the best older women don't have that choice.

Agree. Unless they've been drug addicts and live in a harsh climate (ex southern florida and doing heroin since 22) it doesnt hit till their 40's and 50s, and men hit it at that same age as well. Men probably even hit it earlier as their is no societal expectation for men to look youthful or take care of themselves past not being obese, but even then no one cares if a man ages as men have lower beauty standards compared to women.

As a man I didn't buy into The Wall until I kinda began running into the women who the concept is implicitly talking about. It's one of those things you get if you've been there and you don't if you haven't. There's a lot of traits I could bring up that it would be about but what it's actually about is a mutual understanding between both parties: Certain things are prized. She no longer has those things. Her position at the negotiating table is not what it used to be as a result.

30 is only really the beginning of that process, give or take a few years. A 30 year old woman of statistically average build is still valuable to a lot of men. This is less true at 35 and less true at 40 and then you have years past that age which is where things are kinda locked in.

The reason this even matters is there's lots of women in that range and beyond trying to act like they're still 22. I know women who are in their 30's trying to IG thirst trap with 19 year olds. I know women who are in their 40's who are going on dates and shocked the men who wine and dine them now expect sex faster than they used to before the divorces. I know women in their 50's still trying to work odd jobs and spark off an acting career with no real experience. Then you have single motherhood or drugs, which will age you before your years. It doesn't work out that well for them because less and less dudes are willing to tolerate the games.

You've misunderstood what The Wall is. The Wall isn't an inability to attract a husband, it is an inability to attract a husband who is as sexually desirable as you could previously. TBH, the wall doesn't exist. It is a 100% MGTOW revenge fantasy. The "biological clock" trope already explained what happens to women post 20s; they don't drop in value, but they do become laser-focused (read: desperate) for marriage + baby.

I would tend to agree that it's not universal.

But, I also think it depends on the woman. Check out Giada De Laurentiis. Link 1, Link 2. She's 49. Forty, fucking, nine. Obviously, there's some makeup action going on, and the second link might be as much as 10 years old (making her a definitely-post-wall-according-to-TRP-at-39).

But, let's not kid ourselves, she's definitely hotter than most 20 year olds. The effort is attractive. Maybe she bathes in the blood of virgins. Fuck, I don't know.

The sun kissed lean no effort 22 year old can still be very attractive at 33 but it requires a shit ton of effort and when the make up and spanxs come off it’s not like the 22 year old.

Some look just as good as when they were younger, others looked 50 when they were 40. I know a pair of 50 year old identical twins, one of which has had health issues. The one with health issues has otherwise kept up her physical appearance and looks much younger than her now out of shape twin.

When a woman gets older there are gradually fewer and fewer men willing to give her special treatment, but there is never really a “wall,” unless she is really old, perhaps. Even a woman in her 60s can get special treatment from the men who are older than her.

However, I do think that a semi-wall exists in that women will never get the same highest treatment from almost every man that she got when she was in her early 20s at her peak attractiveness.

The wall is real. It doesn't always happen at 30 -- I didn't feel it until I was 35, and some women don't hit it until later. But at some point, almost every woman stops being the focus of all that automatic male attention.

Yes, women can still be attractive past 40. Yes, if we dress well and take care of ourselves and smile, we will still get attention. But it isnt the same.

I think there’s something to “the wall.”

If women are valued (rightly or wrongly) primarily on looks, then their peak SMV happens younger.

If men are valued (rightly or wrongly) on a combination of looks and status, then they peak slightly older.

The “wall” then is simply the point at which the sexual dynamic flips; the woman is no longer at their prime, and the mean she most desires ARE, so theoretically she experiences more difficulty in locking down her most desired mates sexual commitment.

People take this “WOMEN TURN BUTT UGLY THE SECOND THEY TURN 30,” and we all end up debating the dumbest possible interpretation.

RP is largely to blame for this. They’re very good at missing their own points.

It depends a lot on how you define "the Wall." I don't think anyone seriously makes the argument that at 30, women somehow just transform into hideous trolls whom no man will stomach. It's pretty much undeniable that, all else being equal, a woman will generally be most physically attractive somewhere between 18 and 22, and will fade at some point after that. (There are exceptions: "ugly duckling" very late bloomers, women who lose weight or otherwise invest significantly in an appearance they were neglecting, etc.).

My perspective: "the Wall" is more of a social phenomenon than a physical one. Men tend to peak later in attractiveness to women, between their late 20s and mid-30s, and have a more gradual decline than women do. I wouldn't take merely getting hit on as a metric with much value. Men will hit where they won't commit. And the social norm that men are the pursuers means they're always going to be the ones doing the hitting on more than women are. And, also, these measures are relative: men might "settle" for the 30-something when the 20-something isn't as easily had.

I don’t like “the wall” metaphor because in most instances it’s not that abrupt. That being said, most women look a good bit hotter at 25 than they do at 35. I can date both ages, why wouldn’t I go for 25?

That's not the wall. Some women hit the wall hard, others hit it gently. But it's the point when women realise they're not getting the same kind of men in terms of hotness they could before.

Or go ask any single woman in their 30s what life for them at 22 was like. Ask them why they never got married in their 20s, what the men were like then and what the men are like now. You can go to r/datingoverthirty and see the posts from women who got divorced or became single in their 30s and it's like 'dating has changed'. No it hasn't. It's always been rough for young men and older women.

If you're a young man, you wouldn't see the change until you're in your thirties. The alpha bucks get married quick. The upper betas maybe in their late 20s. Some okay betas get hitched too. Then the players and losers are left. If you're still in good shape, have a job and are fun to be around, there will be way more women to pick from because half of the men are married and single women get desperate.

Of course there are women who get hit on at 40 but this is by no means the majority and could be skewed by your own personal hangout social cricles, even if you get attention it certainly won't be the same as when you're 22, I don't know what mental acrobatics you are doing in to think you'll be eternally young. Hitting the wall is not always a definite age, but on average women seem to feel it at about 30.

It is not actually about their looks fading so much as it is the point when a woman looks around and sees the eligible bachelor pool getting smaller, and the eligible bachelor's are getting nabbed up by younger girls.

Yes women still get hit on, but that is irrelevant. It is about who is hitting on her, and who she wants a relationship with.

It's all how you take care of yourself. I've known guys when I was in my 20s who were dating HOT 40 yr old women. Hot women are hot women. Some take care of themselves, work out, keep their diet going. Others let themselves go a bit. (This happens to all of us) Every woman cares about their appearance (hence why nearly all of them wear makeup).

This idea of the "wall" is silly. Usually made by guys who they themselves have been smacked by some "wall." I'm 41 and I am working on myself, but the reality is that it is hard. It's hard to be in shape, fit and good looking. For some it comes natural, but it's still hard to maintain it. Most of us aren't perfect and celebrities only look so good because of photoshop and editing. A year of dating, a year of enjoying married life, a baby conceived at 32, and born at 33. Want a second, but want to breastfeed a while? This. Give it a few years, you’ll see.

Women, even the ones who’re very attractive and aging well, start getting desperate if they’re still single at 27-28. It’s quiet desperation at first, plastered over with a passable veneer of self-confidence. Then after their (usually more chaste) friends have settled for, married, and started families with the “high quality” not-Chads, the veneer starts cracking and the volume on the desperation gets turned up.

By the time they hit the mid-30s most are still trying to fake the “single woman” confidence but utter desperation oozes out from the cracks in their veneer because they are losing both their youthful beauty and fertility, and they know it.

While they can date very actively, the dating market consists of Chads/Players who know better than to LTR/marry (and if they don’t will pick 24 to 28 year olds), the “lower quality” not-Chads (who are their more chaste friend’s leftovers), divorced “high quality” not-Chads (with children and heartbreak issues from the less chaste women they married), and young (read immature) Fukbois with transient jobs who like MILFs. Thus the desperation.

I am a 50 year old “high quality” not-Chad. I look much younger than my actual age (most guess mid to high 30s) and women (apparently) have always considered me to be very good looking when I am in shape even though I am short. I am well educated and was raised in “high society” though my family was not wealthy. I had a reasonably successful career in a very lucrative field. I live what would be considered a moderately luxurious lifestyle in a beautiful place that is a year-round vacation destination. I am married with a family. My wife (who was the chaste friend) and I got married in our mid 20s and started our family in our early 30s. I am very social.

After losing my dad-bod and getting cut I practically need a bodyguard with a night stick to beat off single women (and married women who are “shopping” nonetheless) in the 28-50 age range - even though many of them know or find out that I am married with a family. The wall is not just physical. It's mental too. My dick doesn't work for the 30 year olds as much as it does for 18 to 24. There's pheromones in the air that will give you a sly boner and you'll be wet, whereas around 30 year old women, that shit doesn't happen, we notice the wrinklies and the lines, we notice the bad attitude, the entitlement and we compare it how much nicer the younger ladies are.

They'd still get male attention, it just won't be what they're looking for. They will turn 30ish and then the men that want them are usually just interested in them for sex or something casual. You said it yourself, you've seen many of them going on many dates at that age group. Lots of dates, but no commitment. Around that age is where women don't really have the power to make a man commit to a relationship. It's not unlikely for a 30 year old man to see a 30 year old women as too old to start a family with. If they were both 26, probably no problem, but 30 is pushing advanced maternal age, which is defined as 35 and older. And if that man wants a big family, at 30 she might not be able to give him that. He is most likely going to be looking at girls in their early or mid twenties to settle down with. Will he fuck the 30 year old women? Most likely, but he won't see her as a viable candidate to start a family with? Not likely. There's a common rule where you "divide your age by 2 and add 7“. Using that is how people figure out of it's socially acceptable to date someone. Men in their 40s are usually looking at women on their late twenties or early 30s, not late 30s.

And around 30-35 is when most women's looks start to fade. Not all, but most. You can still find a hottie at 30 or 40, but you're not gonna thinking about having children with this older women.(look up Christie Brinkley) But you don't need to be 30-40ish to hit the wall. OP, you said you're 22. Surely you must recall a really hot girl from high school, who is now not so hot. She might of graduated high school and had a few too many kids, or started doing drugs, or her freshman 15 turned into a freshman 45. Basically the girl who was really popular and hot in high school, but 4 years and now she's not. She's hit the wall without even hitting 30. Like others have said, the wall is not not 100% about age, but about where a female lose the ability or power to get men to commit or take them seriously. It's the point in dating, where the tables are a bit more even and men don't have to chase them, because there are usually younger and prettier options for men to go after. So men get to finally sit back and ask them what they bring to the table.

I think that as women age, the number of available men starts to get smaller. This can be for a variety of reasons; the concept that 30+ women want to have children, relationships become permanent etc. Many guys are afraid to commit, so some tend to avoid trying to date 30+ year old women.

That being said, in my experience, women's looks don't begin to fade at 30. 30 is like, peak attractiveness. But if you visit weird communities full of men hating women, the concept of the wall changes, and it suddenly becomes a set point in time where a woman goes from attractive to hideous in a matter of seconds, and of course it's their fault, women are inferior to men (the whole "men age like wine and women like milk" bullshit).

I think that women hitting the wall at 30 is true to some extent, it's just that the definition of the wall is different for everyone. But women in their 30s can absolutely find a partner, or be attractive, or have guys hitting up on them.
