Height adds elegance, but an otherwise attractive man doesn't need to be tall, and a tall man who isn't otherwise attractive doesn't benefit from his height in my book. I don't go around with a measuring tape so I don't know the height of any of the guys I've been with. Most seemed close to my height. Sometimes taller sometimes shorter. I'm around 5'6.

I never cared about height when I was younger. I care about it more now that I'm older. I attribute this change to the internet, OLD, and, ironically, RP.

OLD commodifies people, and for women, the stakes are so, so low. There are usually hundreds of matches, and it requires no effort to go through them. I've had negative experiences with OLD that made me feel disposable. But I realized that I was buying into this RP bullshit about how tall == attractive == desirable and objectifying men in the same way I felt they had objectified me.

So I got off OLD. Men really deserve better.

I am 5'9f engaged to 5'4"m. My mom always told me not to date short guys bc I've always been tall, and I tried for like a month to fight my feelings for this dude, but I obviously failed. He has never been weirded out about the height difference, but he doesn't like when I wear heels. I was the first one who brought the difference up right away since I had it ingrained in my head that it was bad, and he just thought it was no big deal lol. Now, it is soo natural to me. If something ever happened to him (pray nothing does), I don't know if I could go back to dating taller men.

The only guilty pleasure I have in regards to wanting a taller guy, is that when we go on escalators, I always make sure I'm on the step below him, so I can lean my head into his chest. However, I love the fact that I get to be a little dominant in public sometimes with him, like 1/2 the time I have my arm on the back of his chair, and he's leaning into me. It's nice to swap those things to have more variety (the best way I could think to explain it), something taller guys usually aren't cool with.

BTW- mom finally is cool with the difference. Haven't heard another comment about his height since about 1/2 a year ago. Though she has always liked him, even if she didn't approve of his height.

I think some women make height a requirement rather than a preference. Meaning, if a man may not meet her height expectations, they might not give them the time of day. Could've been a potential soul mate n passed up on that blessing lol. But to PREFER a taller man, I think thats okay. When people make petty shit a requirement, they're more likely to get into relationships they wind up hating later.

I'm attracted to average or normal, so height matters, but so does everything.

I could describe ideals but experience has shown me that what I'm happy with can be quite unexpected, even if it isn't average, even if it's strange. I've seen attractive men with dwarfism for example. However I don't make decisions on who I want to LTR or have sex with (these two are mutually exclusive to me) based off of appearance alone. Guy has to be attractive and a good person.

I don’t care unless he’s shorter than me. I’m 5’5” so it’s not that difficult. Minimum cutoff I guess is 5’5”? The most attractive man I dated and for the longest period of time was 5’6”. Dated two 6’ or over men, and sure them being tall was nice but was a pretty insignificant factor compared to their faces and personalities. Man I’m currently dating says he’s 5’8”. Maybe its just me but it feels like such a lie when people say the height of a man has ABSOLUTELY 0 effect on his attractiveness. I will be honest, it absolutely does. Height + frame can halo a man by a lot.

I'm 5'11. I've dated men from 5'4 to 6'8. I prefer men around my height (5'9 to 6'1), although my current boyfriend is 6'4. The last two men I dated were 5'8 and 5'9.

Height doesn't particularly matter to me, and height doesn't do much to attractiveness for me. An athletic build on any frame is more attractive than a man who's just tall for the sake of being tall. On the list of things to worry about in a partner, height certainly not at the top, and I don't think it does much in terms of compatibility.

My height is 160 cm. I suck at estimating the size of things just by looking at it. I need to compare with things that I know the size of. I have a better time imagining the size of an object if the person would say that it's the size of a finger nail, rather than saying it's 1 cm. (so these types of size chart is better for me to understand the size of the object). 1) A man being tall is part of a deeply conventional fantasy- men of power, authority, statuesque presentation, status. This fantasy doesn't particularly appeal to me when it comes to attraction for several personal reasons. However, I still do notice statuesque men and think to myself "WOW it's like I'm talking to marble."

2) I didn't have a hard cutoff if the guy is actually compatible, whatever that might have meant to me at the time. Never met a man shorter than me, though. Can't imagine even having second thoughts with men my height and reasonably above.

I'd rather date someone who's less than a foot different from my height in either direction, but a bigger height difference isn't a dealbreaker. Within 6" of my height is ideal, I make no height distinctions within that range.
I don't have a hard limit, but as noted in my first point, I prefer someone who's within a foot of my height. On the low side, that's 4'6". And ideal would be within 6" of my height, which means 5'0".
5' to 6'.
5'6" is the shortest man I've been with, and the shortest person I've hooked up with is 5'3".
The tallest man (and tallest person) I've hooked up with is a little taller than 6' (probably between 6' and 6'2"). I dumped him after about a month, and this was more than five years ago, I don't remember minor details like his height perfectly.

It matters for me but at the same time it’s not a hard line. He has to be taller than me, and if he isn’t there has to be something that compromises for it (nice face/nice deep voice/funny as fuck)

Barely any difference as long as theyre not an extreme, basketball player or height I was in middle school is what I consider the extremes
I'm 5'5. 5'4 on the short end, 6'4 on the tall end. I still don't think I'd reject a guy for being out the limit so it's not a hard cutoff but I'm not approaching guys 5 ft tall either.

I was married to someone shorter. Wasn’t an issue. I’m with someone the same height. Also fine. If you asked me to build a boyfriend I’d probably want him to be a few inches taller than me. But that’s not how people work.

Also I’m a fairly tall woman at 5‘8”.

I don’t do relationships, just physical and I’m normally a 6 feet over type of girl. That being said I was wildly attracted to and banged a guy who was 5’8. He was just incredibly confident and so hot. So, for me, willing to compromise if other things make up for it. Did a 5’11 too, but that’s really not that big of a difference. He was built like an NFL star, so again, makes up for it in other ways.

I’m around 5’8. Not on the market, but:

Not a big factor, unless someone were significantly smaller than me
Maybe 5’2, but my standards for physique would probably increase if someone was under 5’5 (would strongly prefer for someone to have some muscle if they are that much shorter than me. (I prefer not to be significantly bigger than him.)
