Relativist attraction is the opposite of absolute attraction. As an example let’s suppose we could wave a magic wand and make all men “tall”. I could just as well wave a magic wand and make all men “rich” or “good looking”.

If all men were tall, you would think that all women would rank all men as absolutely more attractive. But this is not the case because women don’t desire a 6’ tall man - women want a man who’s taller relative to other men. Ditto for wanting a man more handsome relative to others and more wealthy relative to others.

Waving a magic wand would just lead to height inflation. This is why we have muscle inflation (see gym bros) and wealth inflation (see the bay area).

This is why promoting self-improvement from a game theoretical standpoint is objectively stupid. It’s not stupid because improving your relative position is bad - it’s stupid because the more men who successfully self-improve the less value the program has.

If you disagree with this point of view then hypothetically most men could ~break their legs to become 6’ tall~. Why is this advice not given to most men? And if this advice is valid then why is this ~black guys friend~ going from 6’ to 6’6”? It’s insane that a man who’s taller than 86% of the population feels the need to be taller than 99% of the population.
