Nothing you listed weren’t things women had to deal with in the 1950s. You ignore other things like them having to deal more with spousal abuse than today.

I think if women were able to marry husbands that made enough money they didn’t have to work many wouldn’t work. That’s not how the economy evolved though. It now takes 2 incomes for the most part to afford a home and have a family. One could argue feminism caused this by increasing the labour supply which devalued individual labour but one could also say globalization and automation were bigger factors.

There have never ever been any guarantees in life. Unmarried women have existed since the dawn of marriage.

But lots of women today still get married. And many marriages last.

Women don’t have to do anything vulgar they don’t want. Women have spines and can say “no”. If they refuse and are forced to do them anyways, it’s called “rape”, and it’s a crime (even if it’s difficult to convict)

There have always been men who left their wives or cheated: lifetime commitment wasn’t a guarantee in the past. A woman I know had to raise her 5 kids alone on a teacher’s salary in the 60s because her husband abandoned them.

Not having to go to college

They don’t have to go to college. 69.1% of high school completers attend college in the fall after they graduate, meaning many do not.

Also… college isn’t torture. I wanted to go to college and enjoyed it. Lots of women are the same.

Not having to work

Women have always worked. Always. Throughout history, women worked their asses off. Most women didn’t lay around eating bonbons and fanning themselves and bossing the servants around: most women were the servants, or farmers wives, or factory workers. The idea of the common housewife doing nothing all day is a fantasy of upperclass know-nothing twits.

Not having to be alone, especially in their 20s

Women in their 20s who are alone don’t have to be alone, they choose to be. If they are desperate, they can certainly find some guy willing to date them. Of course, you can still feel alone even in a relationship, so being married at 20 isn’t actually a guaranteed way to feel like you’re not alone.

The men interested in marriage are mostly not interested in dating porn stars/only fans/instathots. They are not competition.

Marriage wasn't "guaranteed" before feminism, lol. It was borderline necessary for survival if you weren't born well-off, but it was certainly not guaranteed. Yes, that means what it implies. And that also goes for "not risking getting dumped at any time." Women were dumped by their fiances, or left by their husbands, all the time. The consequences were dire.

As for working and getting educated....maybe it's your aspiration to loll around, ignorant and without income, all your life, while popping out kids and doing housework, but that sounds deeply unpleasant to me. They have also gained the illusion that in their 30s, they can actually compete on the sexual market with women in their 20s. Men have lost marriages to no-fault divorce, lost half of their incomes to pay child support and possibly alimony to their exes who either remarry or play the field, and have high taxes to support single moms and children of men spreading their seed far and wide while dodging the government. I’m very happy with my life. I have a career that I love (it started as a hobby when I was a kid) that makes me great money, I’m happily married (and wasn’t alone in my 20s either), we have amazing sex (and did before marriage, which I also liked just as much, not sure why I wouldn’t want sex before marriage?), the only sex acts we do are things I actually want to do and enjoy (you think women weren’t forced to do degrading sex acts before?? or didn’t have men openly cheating on them? I have the power to say no to any sex I don’t want now and have never had to do anything I don’t like, and my husband gives me oral for as long as I want whenever I want), I’ve never had to be pregnant or give birth.

I enjoyed college and my job, for me it is so much better than just having to be pregnant all the time and spending all day with kids. But if that was what I wanted to do - I could have done that also, like I could have chosen to run a day care or be a teacher and had lots of kids or something. I don’t enjoy kids the way I enjoy programming, though, I’m so happy that instead I had the choice of what to do with my life.

Also, there wasn’t ever a time all women didn’t have to work. When and where are you thinking this existed? Or course rich women didn’t have to work, and they still don’t.

And I have a book hobby and I suppose that's accepted by men, but I also like make-up. Lots and lots of make-up, that I barely wear. Because to me it's just like painting on my face and it's again an expression of creativy and self-expression.

Think my husband will give me 4K if it ends up being used on make-up that gets painted on my face when I'm bored, like once a week, a picture and then promptly removed? Dude would be soooo annoyed at me for wasting my money. It's a source of conflict nowadays while I do it with MY OWN money.

Oh and that type of behavior is typical for me. I have brushes, all paint kinds, 20 types of different pens in all colors, crayons, ... So that I can use exactly what I want, when I want, when I feel creative.

And maybe a 50's guy is gonna be ok with a painting hobby, but the type of money I spend on that compared to how I often I use it: hell no. That shit hits hard if you go out and work for it and then your spouse goes and spends it like that.

Then there's the shit men say. Like how often have you heard about a conservative man wondering why a woman is getting an education when she's just gonna sit at home? Some women genuinely love knowledge and enriching themselves with knowledge. And you might see such a quote, think a bit about it and forget it, but that woman that gets happy from having opportunity to study the things she wants to study is NOT gonna forget that. And that's what she'll think about if you bring up how women had it so good in the 50s.

And as men, that's the shit y'all don't see or understand, while we're us and we know exactly what traits of our personality we would have to give up for a 50s life.

I have personally said before men gain a lot from feminism. I personally am so happy for what feminism has done to improve my future.

At my age before modern feminism I’d be looking for a wife to support financially forever. I’d probably be a virgin as well. Some of my favorite hobbies would turn my partner into dead weight (I love cooking, and can’t stand anyone else cleaning my living space).

Nowadays, when marriage gets mentioned to me by my great grandparents I laugh at them. At 21 I still firmly believe I’m a decade away from a wife and kids.

Feminism has granted me so much casual sex. Feminism changed the market so much that it’s made commitment unnecessary for sex and intimacy.

Most importantly though, I don’t have to worry about it my partner being a dependent. Thanks to feminism, I can now demand any woman I do engage with longterm have money.

I also feel like women’s sex drive have increased due to the increased competition in the dating market.

How can you be so unaware that you're just projecting and assume that every other woman thinks like you. This is a case of "speak for yourself" if i've ever seen one. Making money and being happy with your job is far from easy to achieve in this society, for some people even being able to make any money at all is hard due to mental health issues or incompetence, in comparison to the old times this life is by no means a happy/ideal life for a lot of people, but I would still rather worry about making my own money, than having a husband who's emotionally or physically abusive or cheats on me but I'm financially dependent on him so I can't leave him. That would be more of an emotional hell for me. And women from older generations from my culture sometimes did get beat up by their husbands or their husbands cheated on them, not all men were like this, but a lot were, but divorce was not an option, because they'd have no way of financially sustaining themselves, and spousal abuse was something that was extremely common and literally "normal" back then. I think you're not realizing that life wasn't all rainbows and sunshine for women back then. Even in this day and age, I wouldn't want to be financially dependent on ANYONE. So I personally do greatly appreciate that I don't have to be. You might feel differently, but you need to stop speaking for "women" in general, because literally the majority of women would probably disagree with you.

I agree mostly with your points but its not so cut and dry, both genders have gained and lost stuff. I'd argue it's about tradeoffs and feminism has done more for women as a whole than men as a whole since all women benefit from what I said while the top 1% of men benefit from your points. Most men are still struggling and are forced to settle, they aren't happy with the results of feminism.

Most anti feminists are men so either you are wrong or women are dumb.
