Dated a 6’4 guy last summer. Hated it. For me average height is nicer. Not only do average height men live longer, but they don’t use their height as their main personality trait like my ex. His height also caused physical problems and he was just weird anyway. My answer is average height guys tend to be more genuine, physically balanced/proportionate, and develop personalities better (this may be a result of people who perceive themselves as less attractive having better personalities than those who are more popular and have terrible personalities).

Yes I've dated a 6'2" inch man but his height did nothing for me; at best, it scared me and I could never feel 100% relaxed next to this guy. If he is so much taller than me, who knows what can happen to my safety in case he got angry? Around 5'9 is my preference. I dated shorter, gone taller, back to shorter and back taller again - my preference has stayed the same.

I think it comes with a preference for stocky (but not fat) body types. My taller men were just too lean - a less stable center of gravity. I also don't like craning my neck while kissing. (I'm 5'6). The chest hugs are nice though.

Let’s be real here, being tall is an advantage in the dating market as a whole, all other things being equal.

I can see why shorter fellows get down in themselves. I’m 5’10” and relatively secure about my height. But women as a whole will reject a shorter dude right at the onset as compared to a taller dude. Exact same thing with dick size.

My one short (5’1) friend has always dated ridiculously tall (6ft+)dudes. Her first boyfriend in hs was tall and she’s dated tall guys ever since. Maybe he was the standard who she compares all her future partners to. I think she also likes feeling very small compared to her partner.

I’ve (5’9) always dated people my height or shorter and don’t worry about height in partners (male or female).

I think some women might like the social currency that comes with having a taller partner, and once they’ve gotten to know what it’s like they continue dating taller guys and that becomes their type. On the other hand, maybe they saw a quality they really liked in a taller partner and then gravitated to taller future partners because of this.

Regardless height is just another preference, some people care some don’t. Some people change their minds, some don’t. Some people overlook height or other physical things they don’t find attractive because they like everything else about that person.

It’s all about personal preference. I’m 5’4 shortest guy I’ve dated was 5’6 tallest 6’8 current 5’10. Love of my life 6’8 but it wasn’t his height. It was moreso his personality. Sweet guy, gentle, non intrusive, no arguments… all things that don’t deal with height.

My required height for him is at least 25 cm taller than me, so 1,75 cm at least. I could only see myself dating a shorter man of he was compensating through something else. NOT shorter than 1,65 cm though, I tend to infantilise men shorter than that ; I can not conceive being sexually attracted to a man I see as a child.

I've dated both tall and short men. The physical difference doesn't bother me. It's the way short men behave. So unbelievably insecure. If you make me choose between you and wearing high heels, I'm choosing the heels.

I don't care what a person's height is, like I've dated girls of all heights. But when dating men the guys who were near my height (im 5'1") were so insecure that it affected our relationship. Like we would get into fights over me wearing heels and being an inch or two taller, its like not even a big deal.

Hmmm...my tallest BF was 6'4", and after him my next serious BF was 5'9". He was very muscular and sporty, though. Most guys I dated were about 5'10-6 feet, as I'm short (5'4") and a guy who's five ten is pretty tall to me (whole half a foot taller). The really tall guy...it was a little awkward at times. But it's not like it flipped a switch that could never be flipped back. I didn't give it a ton of thought. Again, I dated before people did online dating, so it wasn't like you could plug in a height filter; you met who you met, and you didn't carry around a tape measure.

When you're shorter as a woman maybe you can afford to date shorter guys because they're still a lot taller than you are in general.

My one ex was just under 6ft. I don't care how tall a new partner is. Someone's body shape and proportions are far more important to me than height. I don't know how I'd feel about a guy significantly shorter than me, but I'm under 5'6" so it's not too likely I'll meet someone who someone who happens to fit all my other standards and also is an extreme outlier in terms of male height.

I'm 6'1 and my wife 5'8. My son is turning 4 this year and he taller than all kids in his kinder. He will definitely be tall, just how tall. I'm guessing 6'3 -6'4.

My daughter will be atleast 5'8 as she too is tall for ger age.

Height isn’t that important to me, I have dated men between 5’6” and 6’2”. And yes, after the LTR with the 6’2” guy, I’ve dated much shorter men. My current partner is just over 5’10” or so, and this is probably my favorite if I had to choose, because our bodies just fit together well. Seems natural, probably because we’re both average height for our genders. Now body build matters to me if a guy is on the shorter side, gotta have broad shoulders and either a somewhat muscular body or dad bod, not too skinny and “petite” looking.

My fiancé said that I’m the only woman he’s met who didn’t care that he was over 6 feet. I legitimately have never cared about a man’s height. It’s something you cannot control so I have 0 interest in making mate selection based off of it. I’m more interest in your ability to be a good decent husband.

… my only ex (debatable if we even really dated as it was only ever long distance and the relationship was only a work week long {this was when I was 15}) was 5’7 compared to my 5’2, but I don’t really care for a persons height all too much. (I consider 5’7 as tall). I’d be just as willing to date someone 4’11 as someone 6’5. I do find taller people more physically attractive, but it won’t mean much to me in dating. Just as long as my partner is willing and able to give me their clothes, I’m fine.
