It's a problem for everyone, although more guys are afflicted than girls.

As a guy if you constantly live your life without receiving attention/signals from girls you're going to develop mental issues, most likely. And there is no a real way around it, you can only hope to have a glow up and become attractive.

People here often talk about guys abandoning the dating market or not approaching due to a "few rejections", but they fail to see the bigger picture. Rejections are the tip of the iceberg, the negative feelings of many guys are also shaped by years of feeling invisible to the opposite gender, not receiving the attention they expected and not being reciprocated. Futhermore, this kind of issues often influence the whole personality and they can affect everyday life.

We can't expect people to mantain a positive attitude if being rejected and feeling invisible is the norm. I don't want to make it sound a gender specific issue, girls too can develop these issues but it's more rare for a girl to not receive sexual attention.

On top of that society doesn't acknowledge it and often it gatekeeps the negative feelings and mental issues that revolve around dating. As a result more and more guys become attracted to redpilled and blackpilled spaces, because these are the only spaces where they can freely express themselves. The solution proposed by the mainstream is forcing to accept yourself and your lot in life, which is basically toxic positivity and it neglects individual feelings.
