*catch feelings more

I've seen it happen around me and kinda wonder why it's a thing. Is it because guys don't get as many chances to be super open about their feelings, so when they find a friend they can share with, it hits different?

Most people who are friendzoned are men. There are more "nice guys" than "nice girls" and so on. Why is this the case? Why aren't women catching feelings for their male friends? Is it the pesky hypergamy at work again?

For men: You find a woman whom you have fun talking with, befriend her, start enjoying her company and if you find her attractive enough you kinda start having feelings for her

But how does this work for women? Are there some other variables which play into attraction that is different from men?
