My strategy for jobs is to research all the criticism written about the company and ask the interviewer if they've already applied XYZ fixes to address those flaws yet. And if not, why not/when will they start? Like negging, but corporate. It's surprisingly effective.

This reminded me of when my girls were little & came back from their dad's excited about their 16yo half brother's new job at Chick-Fil-A. "Wow! That's exciting," I said, "what does he do there?" "He takes out the fat," my then 5yo youngest informed me. After further clarification, I worked out that his job was hand cutting the chicken & potatoes they used. (And apparently, literally taking the excess fat trimmed out to the biowaste dumpster at the end of the shift.)

So instead of doing the work I need to do to do better, I’ll rely on her emotional labor which she supplies in exchange for the ring and subpar dick that she’s been taught by society is the pinnacle of womanly success.
