Everyday our favorite butthole sub has new threads that remind me of how important FDS is. Today there’s a thread where a man is asking if he’s wrong for being mad that his wife “let herself go” after she just gave birth. He’s mad her hair isn’t shiny anymore, that she’s wearing baggy clothes, and that she’s had no time to shower while he does Jack shit to help. His mom came to “help” but MIL only came to chastise the wife for not getting done up for her son anymore. This shit is so embarrassing. Some men really are slaves their pps. I debated making a whole post, but I kind of felt bad making one just to vent.

I am a nurse, and have that sub on my front page. There was a post yesterday from a woman who was basically at the end of her rope, and part of her post was her freaking out that her husband wouldn't help her out with the kids so she could have a day to decompress from her insanely stressful job (which had her repeatedly in tears and dreading the next work day).

I shit you not, there were people in the comments telling her to CoMmUnIcAte and let him know what she needed, with follow up replies saying "can confirm, am husband. We are dumb like that".

I. Went. Off. I asked one of them how the fuck he could see his wife coming home in literal tears and not have the brains to know she needs to recuperate. He legit said that men are dumb like that. I ..... fucking what? Look, I know that this is the big lie, but it blows my mind every time. If your boss doesn't have to wipe your ass at work, why does your wife have to do it at home?

I wish women everywhere didn't have to put up with such insane double standards. It hurts my heart to see men spouting such bullshit like it is reasonable, "hur hur, just a dumb dude"... like you're not in a sitcom, man. That's not real life and it isn't funny or cute and why would any woman stay with you forever if you make her life harder?

Hey so I'm terrified of being taped during sex. Its one of the reasons I dont ever wanna date. This has been on my mind a lot lately.

Why do men feel it's some weird point of pride to have to be the one to take your bra off? Ladies, trust your gut and don't be afraid to be rude. Society conditioning women to be nice is the most fucked up thing. Watch some of the videos if you have time, it got me thinking back to incidents I thought were just "scams" but could have been wayyy worse.

A question on how your look affects the type of man you attract...

So I am doing a little spring cleaning and during this process I’m making some changes to my wardrobe and makeup. Last year during Covid, I took myself out of dating and worked on leveling up in other ways. So now that an end to the quarantine is on the horizon, and I’m looking at starting to meet people again, I’m curious how people here find that their look affects what kind of men are attracted to them?

I am conventionally attractive but in more of an “exotic” way than a “girl next door” way with dark hair and light colored eyes, and a medium skin tone. I’m about 5’3” and have an hourglass figure— currently I’m in the process of losing about 5-10lbs to be back at my most comfortable weight. Prior to the quarantine I was about 120-123 and I’m comfortable there.

Style wise I would say I’m kinda fashion forward and boho, and very feminine with lots of dresses and heels, especially for work and going out. My makeup is pretty natural and some of my coworkers assumed I don’t wear much makeup bc the only obvious one I do is eyeliner typically. Guys have described me often as “cute” “pretty” and “sweet” even if I wore something more edgy like a leather jacket.

I feel like the men I have attracted last time in the dating pool were either fuckboys or dusties— and I’m wondering if my look and my demeanor could have something to do with this? I do not use online dating.

As someone who enjoys fashion I’m open to trying some different looks IF that is something that will help attract better quality men or repel losers. And it goes without saying that the internal level up is much more important so trust I’ve been working on that much more.

What strategies have you ladies employed in terms of your personal style and carriage that have yielded good results.

I just opened facebook and someone was asking to see people’s engagement rings. Then she proceeded to be proud of being engaged for 7(!!!!!) years and receiving 3 ring upgrades during those years. I was shocked lmaoooo. Someone in the comments even said “wtf, why not tie the knot. Today I realized that having a resting bitch face may not necessarily be a bad thing. When I walk through the city some annoying crowd-funder jumped in my way, 3 of them in a row. I signaled that I don't want to be talked to (especially serially, one after another) so it was completely uncalled for from this one woman to "joke" that why I look so angry. My first thoughts where: "WTH was that?", "Women don't owe you nice." and "Yearslong training, honey." I wasn't even angry. I was just focused to get to my destination and they were blocking my way on purpose. In comparison to last year I wasn't grumpy for 'missing a clever clapback' because I didn't care for the opinion of some rude strangers. As I saw how they managed to lure in other women I even felt proud of myself. This was past me: Allowing opportunistic people to walk over my boundaries to get money from me because I was afraid to come off as rude (funny thing, don't you agree? Like it's OK to be rude to me but I'm the rude one when walking away 🤡). I felt content with myself. I walked on with my head high and it came naturally. No "fake it till you make it" fragile self esteem. I realized that walking around with some silly smile on my face like I smoked some weed just for the sake of not be deemed rude is in contradiction with my natural assertiveness. I'm so proud of myself. I was finally able to 'still feel myself' despite conflict with others. Do you know what I mean?

Just had to share a pathetic conversation I had with an ex some time ago. A few years ago I was groped at a party while I was hugging my then bf (now ex). I told him what happened but he didn't in any way confront the man who had groped me. In fact he continued to drink and joke around with him. His reasoning? He tends to shut down in front of bullies and doesn't like confrontation. This man is 6 ft 4 and into weightlifting y'all. I said to him he shouldn't be so afraid as I'm 5 ft 2 and have to advocate for myself alllll the time. I said I would have expected my partner to have defended me from the unwanted advances of another man. His response was that apparently the childhood bullying he went through was a form of trauma and that I didn't have the right to tell him how to feel.

I think I lost a lot of respect for him that day. I cannot stand men who are so afraid of confrontation that they can't protect their loved one from sexual assault. That is weak AF in my opinion.

within the past week: I quit my job after things started getting worse and I wouldn't work for free over my lunch breaks - I tried putting my foot down but then they gave me extra work out of spite - so I left

if you remember I also had some concerns about my apartment and the neighborhood getting bad - one of the knocks on my door was a guy dressed as a cop and I found out from the actual police department they never sent a cop to my address here... since then I stopped answering the door and got a friend to stay here most of the time....

now its getting scarier... my friend leaves for work and this has happened TWICE now... about 10 minutes after the roommate leaves someone came and knocked on the door twice on 2 different days now...

now that I quit my job I did more research on moving to different areas. initially I wanted to stay in my current state and town area because of the job I had, but now I quit the job and what's stopping me from moving anywhere. I had only come to this state and town because it was more open and had a lot of job opportunities during covid and the state I had always wanted to move to was being locked down pretty heavily. now that dream state has been open and I also have the tools to keep working for myself!

the good news is I started the application process for a few new places to live in my dream state! I found houses that are very nice but also very affordable for me - financially they would be only a little bit more than what I pay now - the tradeoff is that ill be about 1 to 1.5 hours outside a big city, but I like the country life because you dont have so many neighbors and its quieter, but the rent is a lot cheaper in the country. I also really hate throwing money away on renting when I want to eventually buy a house.

im still turned off from men and dating. it feels hopeless.

also processing how toxic and vengeful my mom has been to me lately - anytime she does call she negs and belittles me and just tries to make me feel bad. its another big factor into why I just went for it and started submitting the applications for the rentals in my dream state.

and theres ANOTHER knock at my door at this apartment ... its a sign at this point. im tired of the sketchy neighbors and the fake cop- my door is clearly labeled and no one should be coming and knocking here.

I already discussed signing the lease over to my friend for the remainder of it and I will be moving ASAP

Hi girls! I need to rant lol. I've been close friends with an LVM guy for about a year now. We have loads of interests in common and really click (he's always been kind to me and sometimes mutual friends joke that I'm his gf/vice versa). However, he frequents online dating and I know from hearing his convos with other friends he has a strange attitude with women he dates; he'll either idolise them if he thinks they're pretty enough and come on "too strong"/love-bomb, or expect them to chase and start sulking and cut them off when they don't. He's in his early 30s, admits he gets a lot of self-esteem from his looks and girls giving attention, etc. He has a "men are the prize" mentality and is insecure, but brags to guy friends about the hundreds of "hot girls" he matches with on Tinder etc.

I never seriously considered him as a romantic option, he's physically attractive but the walking definition of an LVM re: dating. I am also attractive, intelligent, and even if I weren't it's better to be single than entertain LVM. Guess I'm the "pretty girl he can't have". However, a few days before Valentines' he expressed interest (in a VERY LVM way, hinting at it subtly in a "I can just say I was joking tehe if she says no" way). I subtly turned him down, but was nice about it too, after all he's still my friend right??

Well now he's sulking and being a dick to me subtly, won't speak to me or strike up convos like he used to all the time. AND I heard he had a threesome and drank to the point of being sick with two girls he met on online dating on Valentine's Day (seriously not making this up!!), and then had a breakdown and was regretting it, called his mum about it... (His neighbour/another friend of mine told me everything). I think he is slowly less butthurt because his friend told me that he's now been asking for me but I dont even know if I want to forgive him for being rude to me for a week.

I miss him as a friend because he was nice to me for a straight year! But this is just weird behaviour, WTF... LVM gonna LVM I guess. Might have to cut my losses but it stings to lose a friend too.

A question about men treating women they aren't dating like nothing made me think of an experience that still bothers me deeply, even though it's been 5 years and too late to complain about it to anyone, and I didn't want to derail OP's post.

Basically, it's a lesson that a man who is disrespectful to your friends for no reason will 100% be disrespectful to you, too. You will never be the special exception, no matter how much of a good cook or a good listener or good in bed or anything you try to be. It's also sort of an "off my chest" memory.

I met my best friend's husband (then bf) 5 years ago. She was pregnant and I was coming over to help decorate the baby's room. I had continously avoided meeting said boyfriend- let's call him Kevin and her Marie- because not only did he not sound like a sexual sleezebag loser, but she used to complain about him endlessly (which always made me wonder why they kept getting back together...?).

But still, I was friendly when I came inside. Maybe he would be fine. He asked her who I was and looked weirdly put out by my appearance when she told him, and only gave me a very grudging "hi" back. I exclaimed over how cute the baby room was so far, and he must have made a look to her behind my back because Marie said "She's just excited" as if she were excusing annoying behavior of mine. For a baby gift I got a find-the-animals Noah's ark book I thought was cute. He was suddenly TICKED and told me not to give "his" kid "Christian stuff".

I was really shocked because never has anyone been so irate and RUDE to me right off the bat like that. I couldn't do much but laugh awkwardly and say "Okay...", to which he said "You think I'm joking?" in this cold way. It's true I'm a Christian but that's not why I bought it, and normally when people get gifts they don't like, they don't have a temper tantrum, they just politely take it and get rid of it. Also, he's not religious or anything, so it's not because I had accidentally offended his beliefs. He just dislikes any faith.

I'm reeling over this exchange and so confused so I just leave the conversation and start working on the room, eventually he leaves for work, and she comes to help decorate. For about 20 minutes there's nothing but a very palpable silence. I can sense she's embarrassed by what happened and I keep waiting to see if she'll apologize for his unbelievably rude behavior or at least say something about it, but she doesn't, and I'm kind of unsettled too, though I can't explain why. Later that weekshe asks to hang out, all 3 of us, and I say no and explain that I didnt like how he reacted to my gift. She said she was sorry felt that way about it 🙄 (She did agree a couple years ago he was rude, though, funny enough.)

Slowly he does act better. He's friendly to me now when I am over to spend time with her or the kids He even got me a game for the Nintendo Switch Marie bought me for Christmas. No idea what changed. However... he's cheated on her multiple times, constantly told pointless lies, tried to gaslight her, left her to do the vast majority of childcare (they have 2 biological kids now plus another daughter of his from a past fling), loves to argue, just sinks her self esteem. (He also used to read literotica and I'm POSITIVE he views porn.) He also fails at parenting- he apparently lets the oldest get away with misbehavior because he feels bad her baby mama (a true pickme in every sense) is a LVW and SCARES them into submission by shouting.

She said she hates him, called him an emotional terrorist, but never left when she had the chance and now with 3 kids she can't afford to. She told me money is the only reason she hasn't left but I think that's only part of it. I think she's scared to be alone.

He had a ton of red flags that she just refused to accept. And she's not stupid, that's the infuriating part. She chose to marry someone she knew was a jerk (I believe that was some of his appeal to her) and acts angry when he... acts like a jerk. I love her but it hurts me to watch her willingly make the same mistakes every. Single. Time.

I'm happy she's been leveling up though- she's working to become a RN while she's a SAHM, learning to manage money better, taking care of her mental illnesses, and she even agreed with me when I told her I thought he was using her for free labor and will never divorce or stop cheating as long as he's got that. I also told her some FDS philosophies ("if he wanted to, he would", create a nest egg, etc).

I'm trying my best to support her and it seems to help her. I'm really unhappy she just settled for him but at this point, I'm very close to her little girls (who all have various thanks to his leaving the family any time she kicked him out for cheating and the yelling they both do) and I want to look out for them since she shouldn't have to do it alone. I realize I should have called out his behavior and hers for allowing him to disrespect me but I was so unused to being treated that way that I wasn't confident in how to handle it like I am now.

Anyway... tl;dr friend of 2 decades married a scumbag who was rude to me upon meeting, to nobody's surprise he's a bigger scumbag than anyone thought. 🙄🙄

I do have a question... should I stop criticizing him? I can get along civilly with him but I cannot stand what a lazy, selfish person he is. He's wasted years of her life and caused her enormous mental stress. I cannot stand his behavior. How do I support her without reminding her of how awful he is?

I finally realized last night why so many people were telling me on my posts that the guy that I've been letting court me is waving red flags.

We've been doing co-op gaming together. In one game we both know and is easy to play and time is of the essence.

I broke up with my LVM ex two months ago and agreed to stay friends upon his request. (I have him deleted from social media for peace of mind though.) Been feeling a bit lonely given that it’s still Covid lockdown.

I'm literally sooo incredibly happy/thankful that this thread exists. I thought Reddit was more male-oriented so I stayed away. Reading through so many of these posts I resonated so much, and just feel so incredibly relieved from not being gaslit (I feel like I definitely have been over the years from people, society, dating info, etc). I'm so happy to be here.
