Maybe because they grown accustomed to being sceptical of an accusation due to encountering many a false one in the past? This is why we need to educate the people of the harm that false accusations can do. If you falsely accuse someone of a crime just to get back at them, you may think you're only harming that one individual, but in reality you're making it harder for the authorities to punish actual criminals as they have to ascertain whether you're even telling the truth. The more false accusations they encounter, the more sceptical they'll likely be of genuine ones which leads genuine rape victims not being listened to.

My girlfriend was one to claim false rape. Mind you i am not posting this with a throwaway account.

Back in november of 2011 she said she was going to some club with her friend to celebrate said friends bday. All i remember was texting her at 10pm asking what she was up to and her saying "hanging out with courtney for her bday" fast forward to 6 am as im getting ready for work i see i have 2 missed calls and a voicemail. The voicemail was sent at 3am with her saying "i love you i miss you" etc.

Later in the day when i get off work and pick her up to hang out she tells me about her night. She seemed off and was wearing a sweater i had never seen before. I asked her where she got the sweater and she said someone left it at the club. 10 minutes later she tells me about how she was drinking 3 guys dragged her from the club and proceeded to gang rape her at their house. Needless to say i felt bad and i did the right thing of taking her to the police station and hospital to make sure she was okay. We filed a police report and i spent an entire night at the hospital in a waiting room while investigators questioned her and while doctors and counselors were helping her.

I was depressed because i felt i didnt do enough to protect my gf from harm. I took 3 days off work so i could be with her and so i could take some time for myself. My depression got worse and i remember wanting to kill the guys who did this to her i told my boss i was giving my two weeks noticed because i couldnt live with what happened to her. My boss convinced me to stay and to take more time off if i needed.

The day when my girlfriend had to meet with the investigator to talk about the she was scared. She said she didnt want to go through with it and i told her if she wanted to do whats right she had to give all the info she could. The investigator assigned to the case told my gf she didnt have a case because she willingly left her friends in a public place without asking for help from strangers.

Once i heard this i realized what had happened. My girlfriend got drunk made out with a guy at the club. He took her home with his two friends where she proceeded to make out and give out handjobs in a car and then let herself get fucked by 3 random strangers. The sweater she was wearing belonged to one of the guys. It took weeks of questioning her story before she could tell me the entire truth. The whole reason she claimed she was raped was because she felt ashamed of what she did and didnt want me to break up with her. We wasted hours of my time as well as police and hospital resources because she couldnt admit she cheated.

All in all i am still dating this girl. I love her to death and have since gotten over the rage i had. Thats another story that doesnt pertain to mens rights. My only thoughts feeling bad about the guys. Had she gone through with her claims three guys thinking they picked up a party girl/slut could be in jail right now eithout reaosn. They didnt know she had a bf and at the time probably assumed she was down to do anything. As much as i hate the guys for running a train on my gf i wouldnt wish jail time and a life time sex offender registry on them.

tldr: girlfriend gets drunk leaves club with three strangers cheats on me in a gangbang files police reports and claims rape.

Im gonna go look at pics of cats. Im kinda depressed now.

As a woman, I hate females like her. Rape is a serious issue, but guess what, people that are raped don't go and tweet about it. It is an AWFUL experience and most repress it and hide it as best they can, and that's why only 20% of rapes go reported. If females want to stop rape, all we can do is start reporting ACTUAL rapes. Reporting false rapes helps no one, as it makes rape victims even more upset that they're unable to handle their rape as well as this chick who's pretending to have been raped and it takes away the validity of females who are actually raped, making them more likely to let the rape go unreported for fear of people thinking they're lying.

It scares me that people are so aggressive to defend absolutely any person that claims they were raped. Rape happens and oftentimes the victim might not even tell some one out of fear or anxiety yet those who abuse the word for situations that are not even obvious one way or another to them or in cases in which the accusations are blatantly false is disgraceful to those they accuse and to those who are actually victims. The largest study on sexual assault victims, published in 2005, was based on 2,643 sexual assault cases and found 3% of false reports. A much criticized study of 109 rape complaints made between 1978 and 1987 found 41% of false allegations.

There are men and sometimes even women who lose friends over false allegations. Women who are raped should come forward but both men and women must realize that not all allegations are accurate. How many people have false allegations against people for other crimes? How hard is it to realize that it happens in cases of rape or sexual assault allegations as well?

The most revolting thing about this is that one woman who has the gall to say "Kill all men" again and again and again. This is vile behavior yet our country and its citizens protect her when she says it, even though it is one step away from justified male murders.

Don't jump to conclusions about people because somebody said something negative about them, even something as severe as rape, because you don't actually know for sure who is right in the situation unless a court of law actually prosecuted the person being claimed of that sexual assault.

While I think this whole thing is a little condescending, and should be viewed in the same light as the "Don't rape!" posters you see targeted towards men (because really, they're the same thing), I do think that there is a problem with alcohol and sex being mixed and automatically concluded to be rape.

Women are grown ups. Alcohol doesn't make you do things you wouldn't do sober, it just lowers your inhibitions. It makes you more likely to do things you'd be less likely to do, not things you wouldn't flat out not do. If you are going to be a grown up and drink, then you need to take responsibility for your actions.

Conversely, if you are sober, or otherwise not drunk and still have some faculties about you and a drunk woman propositions you for sex, say no.

If two drunk people have sex, I don't think either one can be held responsible. Either both people were raped or neither were raped (assuming no one said no, fought, or otherwise objected to the encounter). You really only get into trouble when one person is drunk and the other is not.

A few of the points could be better written or explained more.

To be fair, this poster is a little insulting. It's outright making fun of the stop rape posters.

I think if the message is really going to get out there, it has to stop being cynical and just be honest!

-Don't use rape as an excuse with parents if they catch you having consensual sex

-Have a friend with you if you're going to go out drinking, and if you might feel bad about it tomorrow, don't go home with a guy

-Just because you feel guilty/shamed/dirty about having slept with someone doesn't make it rape. Consider the events that led up to and including the sexual act and decide whether you consented or not.

-Do not say an ex raped you JUST to get back at them.

-False rape accusations not only hurt the person accused, but also makes things harder for people who have actually been raped to seek and get justice.

The goal is not to get women who have been raped ashamed of admitting it, the goal is to stop other women (and people in general) from thinking that accusing a person of rape has no consequences.

She says she's been raped, that her report of it was ignored and that she was also beaten up to the point of severe injury some other time. It's understandable that she harbors anger and resentment against anything she perceives as taking focus away from the accused onto the accuser.

From where I am sitting, it looks like the biggest problem is that "Karen" is the crazy that men sometimes stick their dick into. She was the vast majority of the posts. In fact, it isn't even "some people", mostly a very crazy Karen and her very few friends.

As a woman, and I think most women will agree, it is important to stop false rape allegations. When someone is using false rape accusations for whatever it is that they are, it diminishes the acts against the very real victims of real rape.

Um... well , okay , there's no doubt that she's a lunatic but I suppose the greater issue is that there are people out there willing to go along with her .

There's a few things I don't quite understand though : Firstly , since when did the police know anybody's sexual orientation prior to fielding a rape report ? I mean , she claims she was drugged and raped so are we to presume that it was women who did it to her ? How else would the police know if she didn't specifically tell them .

Secondly , for whatever else one may think of the police , they're not stupid . A cop can't refuse to take a report . Since when were cops so stupid that they'd not only refuse to do their jobs but actually make statements that would undoubtedly lead to their own dismissal ? Saying that you won't take somebody's accusation of rape because said individual is a "dyke" is both nonsensical from a logical point of view as well as from a paycheque point of view .

Thirdly , anybody willing to state "kill all men" on a very public forum is obviously somebody who is either highly irrational , prone to sociopathic behaviour , or both . It also seems a touch ironic though doesn't it ? I mean , she's clearly trying to turn the world against the MRA movement by equating MRAs trying to bring light to an oft-ignored issue while spouting off about how all men should be murdered . Anybody who makes the mental link between what MRAs claim to fight for and what the wingnut in question is stating can't help but notice that yeah , you know , maybe MRAs DO have some legitimate issues to deal with thanks to rabid ideologues who advocate for the murder of the entire male population of the human race .

Frankly , while I'm sorry to have to say this , I couldn't help but notice that she's one ugly mutt . The only reason I say this at all is because any male willing to go to jail for decades after being convicted of drugging and raping a woman (a lesbian woman no less) is probably going to make it worth his while . I mean , if I was going to go to all that trouble just so that I could look forward to years of beatings and unwanted prison sex , I would probably choose somebody with at least enough physical beauty to pass for a mammal .

Does anyone else think she might be legitimately crazy and possibly violent? I doubt any normal person regardless of whether they were an MRA or feminist would ever advocate violence against an entire gender. My theory is that her hormone therapy (for sexual reassignment) is causing her to act psychotically. There is an enormous amount of data that shows hormones play huge role in our attitude and out look on life. These facts make me very nervous that we're going to hear about an incident in Vancouver sometime in the future involving this person.
