I once saw a cute guy on a bus. Everything about his face was gorgeous up until he opened his mouth. His teeth were yellowish with green film as if they were mossy. It was an ugly sight. I can't think of anything worse.

For me, a body shape that seems somewhat “feminine” is about the only purely physical trait I can think of that is hard to imagine seeing past. So, wider hips and thick thighs paired with narrow/skinny upper body. Men don’t have to have a V-shape necessarily but a pear shape is definitely not good…I can only ever remember seeing one or two guys like that though (who wasn’t morbidly obese) - it’s very unusual.

Other than that, there are just too many variables to say “weak chin” or “no ass” are enough to be turn offs to me. Then it depends on the whole package and how those features fit in…

I want to elaborate about being unkempt because i've met a lot of men who think that just means not showering or doing basic hygiene habits such as brushing your teeth, keeping your nails clean and short and so on, of course that's important but i think many men don't go over that.

Even if guys are clean, being unkempt also means their clothes don't compliment the body type, aren't ironed, have lint, are stained, torn or deformed. The hair looks dry, damaged, tangled, has a bad haircut or styled on an unflattering way. Skin looks dehydrated or flaky. If they wear chains (or any kind of jewelry) we'd rather they wouldn't wear those if they can't afford good quality ones.

Most men I'm not attracted to aren't ugly. Some other women might snatch them up in a heartbeat. That said, being physically unattractive is achievable. Bad skin, bad teeth, maybe the eyes are too small for the face or the chin is overly pronounced or something.

By and large though, most men are just not noticeable.

Some of the things that make a guy ugly are the same as those that make a girl ugly. Basically anything that causes there to be a severe lack of proportion or symmetry in the face, like a feature or multiple features that are significantly smaller or larger than the rest or really lopsided. However, keep in mind everyone has some asymmetry, and overall harmony of the face is more important than both sides matching perfectly (check out how asymmetrical some celebs are, especially male actors).

For a guy, excessively feminine features can also be unattractive, as can excessively masculine features for a woman. Recessed jaws are a pretty common feature that’s unattractive on men and women alike. But a small, delicate jaw is only unattractive on a man, while a large, heavy jaw is only unattractive on a woman. Bad teeth are also universally unattractive, though they don’t have to be perfect. Nothing has to be perfect, it’s just a matter of whether there are enough good features to balance the not so great.

The hair (and facial hair for a guy), hygiene, clothing, and fitness all make a big difference. But that’s what makes a guy facially ugly.

I think this will vary for a lot of women.

I don't like guys with larger noses if the nose is very 'forward'. If his nose is large, a flatter nose is more attractive.

Brow should not be too high or too low. A really low brow makes him look grumpy and intimidating. A high brow makes him look too earnest and innocent.

Shoulders that are not wide.

Skinny. I cannot get past a guy who is too skinny. Not sure why that is, but I just can't.

Bad skin. I have good skin and I look after it. I want the same from the man I'm with.

You mention teeth - his teeth don't need to be perfect, but they need to be clean and not all gunked up. I work in the dental industry, and I'm pretty lax about teeth in comparison to my coworkers. My coworkers will not date any guy with teeth that aren't straight and looked after.

Severely thinning hair. Just shave it off. I prefer guys that shave bald, anyway. And the world needs more of them (~~please!~~)

An unusually long or short face

I prefer men who are good bit taller than me. They don't need to be six feet tall, but close to it. The taller he is, the more attracted I am. I dated a guy who was 6'7 for a while, and I would have kept dating him if he hadn't started being rude.

In addition to the stuff you already mentioned, for me:

Ugly facial hair (though I prefer none at all) e.g. soul patches, goatees, jaw outlines, huge face-obscuring beards.
Ugly haircut (Even though I prefer long hair, involuntarily bald is better than someone who maintains an unflattering haircut).
Bad skin, as in dry, unexfoliated, or prematurely wrinkled from sun or lifestyle damage. I don't mind acne or pigmentation unless it's extreme. Scars don't bother me unless we're talking drastic face disfiguring wounds.
Stumpy and disproportionately short fingers, arms, legs.
Brawny or stocky body type.
Too muscular, very thick arms.
A style heavily signaling a probable personality mismatch. Someone sporty, preppy, or a very clean-cut corporate suit guy is probably not for me, even if there's nothing physically wrong with him.
Very square, wide faces, or heavy browbones.
Bloated, rounded, or being too fleshy around the jaw area.
Very wide or very hooked nose.
Drastic nasolabial folds, jowls, saggy under-eye area, turkey-neck, lack of definition between face and neck.
Eyes very small, or too close together.
Super thin lips, or large shapeless slug lips.
Overweight at all, not just obese. No dad bods. No "muh Covid weight". No skinny fats who look like skeletons who are ten months pregnant. It's mostly aesthetic, but physically lazy people or people who can't stop stuffing their faces put me off even if I could make myself overlook it.
Protruding mouth like he looks like he has a snout. The best way I can describe it is if he looks like realistic Homer Simpson.

In practice, most men are just boring to me, not notably ugly or nice to look at. If something doesn't stick out as bad to me immediately, I'm not likely to care or start nitpicking about it. I'm more likely to notice someone exists because of having an interesting and unconventional style, than being exceptionally physically perfect. A lot of the truly ugly group is made up of fat guys whose faces are also ruined because of that, or those that are doing themselves no favors with their personal grooming or styling choices. A lot of modern hair and beard choices are just not to my personal tastes, and I'm into more gender nonconforming looks, so that influences it as well.

Personally: obesity, crooked teeth, baldness/shaved head, beard, wide nose, expression which looks always the same (sign of not being particularly bright IMO), too many muscles, muscles with visible veins (as in not enough subcutaneous fat to look toned but normal), weirdly shaped ears (they must be basically perfect, very regular shape, for me: not too small, not too large, not too wide etc). I can’t cope with bushy eyebrows, nor with plucked eyebrows. I don’t put up with much hair, but I don’t want a shaved guy. I am sure there’s more.

First thing "beauty is in the eye of beholder"

It's hard to isolate features when it's mostly is how those features are "in harmony" with eachother. An unattractive feature can be offset if there are attractive features in the mix.

For face I'd say: big assymetry, double chin that reaches the collarbones, droopy eyes, resting bitch face (a face that looks sad/angry in a neutral position signals the brain that you better avoid that person), downturned lips, patchy beard.

It would be better if next time you ask what is it specific that is ugly on you, when the next time someone calls you ugly.

Also unattractive does not equal ugly. There are 3 tiers: attractive, neutral (neither attractive nor unattractive) and ugly. So if they say that you are unattractive it doesn't necessarily meant that you are ugly, you could be neutral.

Poor hygiene for me. That's pretty much it. But I also find someone so much more attractive when I like their personality. Knowledge is super sexy to me. Most women though are shallow and have "preferences" and seem to think that's okay. If you're not a 6'2 man with thick beautiful hair, beautiful complexion, kind eyes and toned muscles or a "dad bod" you're pretty much sol and should probably lower your standards.

idk if this is considered looks or not but overall cleanliness matters a lot to me a lot. even if you are clean, overall “messy-ness” can make you look unclean. hair, smell, clothing, etc. not necessarily clothing that is “trendy” or “nice” but just something that’s plain, fits you properly, and looks nice seems to make a nice impression.

I think what makes a person attractive is so subjective. I might find someone with quirky looks sexy as hell while the next person would think meh. And chemistry is a whole other conversation! Who knows what draws us to one person and not the other. Of course there are standards of beauty in every culture. Part of it has to do with the symmetry of features-having balanced features. Maybe that’s what can throw things off having one feature overpower the rest of the face…but it’s a combination of so many factors that make up attraction-physical is just one aspect.

If you have a patchy beard, either shit or get off the pot. Shave it or learn how to grow a beard. Use oils, beard shampoo and conditioner (yes, you need a specific shampoo and conditioner), and style your beard. Don’t let it grow down your neck or spread like a rash on your face. Trim along the jaw and under the cheekbones. Wear pretty stuff don’t be a bitch. Wear rings and bracelets and jewelry and floral prints. Be attractive.

Women take so long to get ready because they fucking try to look good. Y’all just put on an old dirty t shirt and jeans and literally any random pair of shoes and go “yeah, I’d fuck me.” That blind confidence will NEVER get you laid.

Assymmetry in the face, disproportioned features, acne/blemishes.

Not trying to mentioned body fat % or muscular structure (as in fit, not bodybuilder) because that's obvious and any guy who isn't doing the work to maintain a good physique will never have a chance at attracting a woman.

One of the reasons your attraction levels feels like it's related to your height and race you is because the women who are most beautiful have the most options, so they are most picky (anyone, man or woman, who obtain that beauty and power will be just as picky, no reason to shame them for naturaly human tendencies. Unfortunately most men won't have a chance for those women, so a man can either wallow in self pity and stay in the black pill, or at least try to make up for it by maximizing qualities he can control.

There exists women who are capable of finding shorter men of different races attractive, they just aren't the ones those men desire, or they require too much effort to get.
