There are many possible reasons:

If you are actually a trad husband you should be at work instead of making stupid videos
While traditional male gender roles are still sought after by women, a straight up "trad husband" really isn't because it implies that there needs to be a trad wife
Kinda similar to the point above, but a lot of the stuff you listed are already expected and done by men (maybe not the suit part though)
Unless you already have a wife, people are going to make "tips fedora" jokes 24/7

They’re not coded as trad husband. They’re typically referred to as “provider men” - a man who has a provider mindset, who typically goes after the trad wife, or at the very least a stereotypically feminine woman.

The vast majority of men, especially young men, can’t afford to be providers. The types of careers that make being a provider and having a trad wife possible typically aren’t accessible to most of them.

I’d also probably argue that most men don’t even want to be sole financial providers - there’s a lot of benefit and security to having a 2 income household. Just like most women don’t wan to be trad wives either.

A lot of us follow traditional relationship dynamics, but even then the division of the tasks/roles is modified to account for both partners working. It doesn’t always reflect the 1950s ideal.

I’d say very few men actually want to be trad husbands, including those who bemoan “modern women.” It’s easier to find a woman who will go 50/50 and still ultimately end up doing most of the household labor and childcare anyway (because “he who cares less wins”), than it is to find a good job and work long hours to be the sole provider. Or to use “enjoy the decline” as an excuse to be a fuckboy, despite the fact that you’re directly contributing to what you claim to see as a “decline.”

Of course I’m not saying men need to be trad husbands… that’s not even feasible for most people in this economy, and I think it’s important for everyone to have some of their own money. There just needs to be an equitable distribution of labor, whether that means she works part time and does most of the other stuff, or they both work full time and split it evenly.

It’s also important to note than lot of tradwives (like Estee Williams) you see online quite literally have turned it into a money-making career as an influencer. Which I could respect, IF they would be honest with their audience that they do in fact have their own income. Making a career out of telling other women they don’t need to have a career seems awfully disingenuous.

The "Trad" movements are all just roleplay anyways. "Trad" get-togethers are hookup central. Slap on a "Trad" label, engage in the "Trad" ego boosting, and you'll quickly find the other "Trads" want to sleep with you. This goes for both "Trad" genders.

It's just roleplay. It's just a scene. Trad parties are like any other social event. They're date-a-thons. They're bangfests. "Trad" is a costume and people just like how they look in it, but otherwise their vices are exactly the same as everyone else.

So yes, there probably is a market for "TradHusband" content out there, because "Trads" love their costume roleplay and I'm sure there's plenty "Trads" who will salivate over "TradHusbands" too.

I would guess cause most men see themselves as traditional or at least that's what they want to achieve. You don't start a movement for the majority, movements are to buck the status quo...like MGTOW.

It is likely women that should start the #SeekingTradHusband trend as a counter to current feminism trends. Basically it would be women seeking to give up college, career, sexual freedom in exchange for putting all the economic pressures back on their men.

It's probably easy to give up responsibilities, but its really hard to talk people into giving up freedoms.

There are VERY few places in the world where traditional gender roles aren't expected of men.

Where aren't men expected to be the breadwinners? Where aren't men expected to be handy and good with tools? Where aren't men expected to be strong? Where aren't men expected to be more repressive toward their emotions? Where aren't men expected to be the families' protectors?

A major issue in modern society is that women had what they could be and what was expected of them opened up to encompasses so much. Does she want to be a traditional feminine girl? Great! Does she want to be a tomboy sports girl? Fantastic! Does she want to be a businesswoman? Amazing! Does she want to be an Instagram girl posting bathing suit pictures? Wow! Does she want to be an OnlyFans girl? Stupendous! Does she want to be a gamer girl streamer? Magnificent! Does she want to be a Christian Church girl? Brilliant!

But if a man fails to meet his traditional standards, he's a loser. A deadbeat. Pathetic. Feminine. He should get used to being alone. No one owes him love. He should improve himself by becoming traditionally more masculine to better fit into the role.

A man may be able to get away with failing to meet one or two of these expectations of traditionalism if he makes up for it by being more traditionally masculine in other ways. But he MUST meet tradition to succeed at all, whereas women have a much wider allowance of sucsess.

Women can be near anything and be granted sucsess, but to be granted that same sucsess, men need to be very specific things.

Why would there be a movement? Men don't have to oppose a drastic shift in their own role in relationships. Modern husbands still encompass all relationship styles and roles for men. There is no social movement from men which tells them that being a sole breadwinner and marrying early, having many kids, etc. is something that is unacceptable. Women are defending their preferred role and values against feminism telling them this is unacceptable and due to patriarchy and internalized misogyny etc. Men can already freely engage in this relationship type and gender roles without being attacked for it by other men.

It's the opposite for men. The ones who want to be stay at home dads are the ones who need to defend their relationship type against attacks from traditional men. The untraditional men, regarding appearance, behavior, lifestyle, relationship types etc. are the ones who need movements to be accepted.

Average Bob making 50k a year in the States is invisible to his woman coworker, his neighbor, the woman he sees at the bar, at church, at mosque, at synagogue. There isn't enough productive work in a home for a SAHM to stay at home most of her adult life. Not with modern technology and family sizes. The flip side of low infant mortality is that while below 2.1 kids tanks your population fast, going to even 3 can explode the population beyond what is sustainable. There is a reason we went from 'too many people' to 'too few' so quickly: in a modern world we actually need to hit a relatively narrow TFR window.

Beyond even what men or women want to do, it would be a huge waste of a nation's resources to have most women spend too much time at home. Your nation couldn't compete and would fall behind.

Turning back the clock is not possible. Now, there is room to adjust gender roles and expectations with respect to working life, for sure. And women could spend more time at home during key periods without unduly tanking national productivity and competitiveness. But this has to be done the right way. It won't be 1950 again. Hell, maybe even in 1950 nations would have been more competitive if they better utilized their female human capital, but it can take time to realize things.

If you ask me, the tradwife movement seems like a retaliation movement to the feminist movement. A loud minority of feminists are against stay-at-home wives and are against children entirely. They go as far as to shame women who want to be wives and make their husbands happy. So, it seems like the tradwives feel attacked by feminism and are retaliating.

Men on the otherhand, as much as there are people trying to deconstruct masculinity, many men are not for it, only the few men who do not fit the typical masculinity traits are against masculinity. So even though there are people trying to redefine what being a man is, the majority are just not on board as men are still expected to be the provider that they once used to be, or at least men are still thriving to be that provider.

Of course most women will tell you they do not want a provider but want equality, but if you really look into it, what they expect from a man has not dropped, but keeps increasing. The only change is from the women's perspective. The only people talking about equality are people doing well in their lives, no struggling person wants another struggling person.

I'm no Margaret Atwood, but isn't some of that to do with the highly patriarchal nature of the norms and expectations accompanying that lifestyle? Seems probable women would be way less likely to want their power & autonomy reduced, and the person they marry to have final say on all important matters affecting you as a couple.

Some are raised in that culture, sure, but I bet more men than women come to & adopt those values later in life, or wander away from them as a young adult only to come back to the fold later on.

My observation is that it is mostly women who want a traditional relationship whereas men just want cheap sex.

Women often try to find traditional men because they don't need to do much, stay home rather than work, and get paid for it.

Men are often sex starved and so give in to these demands and become traditional. However, with the rise of porn and sex work legalisation in many countries, this gives power to men who can cheaply satiate their sexual desires. Hence women are more desperate and try to shame men into being more traditional ie choose them and pay them. Marriage and children is effectively a way to ensure consistent payment similar to a subscription to a service that has a high exit cost.
