Most tattos are cliche and not uniquie. If i see an other butterfly tramp stamp..

On the other hand i havr seen nice individual tattos. But when someone has what everyone else has because they want to fit in, that says a lot.

In fact i know a tattoo artist girl with many tattoos and body mods and somehow i havent found anyone as attractive as i find her.

But if you get whatever is in now, meh.

In this sub as well as on other manosphere forums I’ve seen it reiterated many times that women with tattoos are undesirable and that having tattoos automatically disqualifies a woman from being a man’s LTR partner. Why is this?

For me this was a few decades ago, when I was dating.

I was well acquainted with tattoo artists and a couple of parlour owners, spending time repairing or upgrading equipment. These were the days before the art was widely supported and everything had to be built bespoke.

I spent quite a lot of time listening to the clientele talking and one thing stayed with me, almost all the women were living in the moment, suffered from YOLO and FOMO.

The sheer number of them that cheated on their spouses, was breathtaking. More than one blew up marriages to get with a certain guy and then simply went on with their lives, completely oblivious to the consequences.

It didn't help that two girlfriends, with tattoos, cheated on me.

I can't say that the manosphere specifically is against women with tattoos, but any that are might be because of the whole "we want traditional women" thing, and tattoos aren't a sign of a traditional woman.

A lot of guys are against women with tats because they're indicative of certain personality traits. There's the psych theory that people get tattoos for attention or as a way of non-verbally advertizing themselves to other people.

Then there's the idea that the type of tats one chooses are indicative of the person's personality traits, so a woman who gets a more masculine tattoo might have a more masculine personality, while a woman that that gets a more conventional/common tattoo is more of an average woman, if not a "basic bitch."

Personally speaking, I don't have any tats myself, and while I don't mind people who have them, I'd prefer someone who didn't.

Edit: Those men you're referencing in the manosphere might be TradCons. That's why.

I don't understand it. Partner and I both have extremely heavy coverage (chest, back, sleeves, hands and legs on me; neck, back and legs on her) and we're the two most boring, homebody, monogamous people around.

Most of our friends are heavily tattooed as well, and they're all the same as us. Professional jobs, in bed by 10pm, potter around in the garden on a Sunday types. I don't really know anyone who's a mEnTaL party animal type, or anyone who's particularly slutty either...

It makes me think that maybe the average Reddit user doesn't actually interact with heavily tattooed people all that much, so bases their opinions on the stereotypes portrayed in the media - which are, by and large, unrelentingly negative.

Those are great features in a lover, but many guys are looking for a long-term relationship and desperate to find a magic pill to ensure it won't fail. In other words, using red pill methods to achieve blue pill goals.

Spotting red flags is important if you want a long-term relationship. While most people who have tattoos might not be trouble, a large proportion of people who are trouble have tattoos. Just like most people who voted for Brexit/Trump are not racist, but most racists voted for them.

It is a crude filter, not one I endorse, but many guys have had bad experiences they don't care to repeat.

I'm not a man but I'm not into women with tattoos either. Or men with tattoos for that matter. I don't think it says anything about someone's personality, I just think that they make someone look less aesthetically appealing so it wouldn't be my preference. My guess is that guys in the manosphere can also have this preference and then, as tends to happen when they get anywhere near expressing a standard, try to explain it away as being for some kind of "practical" reason (saying it means someone is "slutty" etc).

You’ll hear them talk about tattoos signaling impulsivity and promiscuity, but I think the crux of the matter is that a woman getting a tattoo is choosing to decorate her body in a way that expresses her personality, which manosphere types don’t like. They want a woman who’s essentially a “blank slate” with little to no life history, or what they’d call “baggage,” who they can mold into their own image. Same goes for the obsession with virginity and young age. Basically they want a little girl’s brain in a barely legal body and are bothered by anything showing a past or a distinct personality. It’s pure narcissism of course, but what else is new.

I've typically heard things against trashy tattoos (tramp stamp) and abundance of tattoos....like a woman with a full sleeve, or hands.

I'd say it goes with the whole notion of women wanting a traditional man, so men should want a traditional woman.

Also typically tattoos for the longest time were seen as low class and primarily on men. Sailors for example, and I don't mean the officers. Tattoos haven't really gotten mainstream acceptance until recently, my parents and their generation, primarily saw tattoos as, gang members, criminals, degenerates, etc...

I don't like tattoos on anyone. Years ago, tattoos were the domain of the tough guy and the individual---the veteran, the biker, the rock star. Now everybody is tattooed, and the number of people with sleeves and other extreme tattoos has skyrocketed.

I see a bunch of people rebelling in the same way, all in unison.

But as far as women go, I find tattoos on women to be indicative of poor decision making, the inability to imagine consequences for one's actions, and a general lack of self-esteem. If that woman was happy with herself, she wouldn't feel the need to ink herself up.

I have over 24hrs of tattoo work done. I love my tattoos, but I usually hate tattoos because 99.99% of them suck. I went to a highly accoladed and acclaimed artist, waited on the books usually 6+ months each time, and spent thousands on each appointment. I am not trying to brag or anything, you could argue that spending money on something like that is superficial and stupid in good faith, but I have the disposable income and they mean a lot to me and are true pieces of art.

A major red flag for people in general for me, not just dating but even male friendship, is having an unironic shitty tattoo. You decided to get something low quality that may or may not even mean anything to you permanently engraved on your skin and then didn't even really take care of it so now it looks worse? I have to assume you make shitty life choices across the board, mainly around concepts like impulsive short term decision making and an inability to think long term.

Even without knowing the study exists and to be a fact, I think guys instinctually know this without realising it and most guys are turned off by excessive promiscuity when searching for a long term partner

I don't think women with tats are undesirable or disqualifying. I just think excessive tattoos are unattractive.

Tattoos are masculine. They indicate a woman who takes risks. They indicate impulsiveness. If the tats are excessive or particularly garish, they indicate poor judgment. They also indicate attention seeking behavior and exhibitionism.

This goes for all kinds of body art too, including piercings in exotic places. distended earlobes. Ears with 85 piercings. Piercings anywhere but the ears. It just screams "I am a slut/whore."

Because it signalizes she has some mental issues that she needs to resort to some doodles on her skin to draw attention. Pretty, confident and NORMAL women don't need that kind of means to attract so wanted male attention. She may be good to fucking, but I don't want to see some blurred doodles on a person I want to spend most of my time. Interesting. I'm personally not into women with a lot of tattoos because I think they're kinda unclassy. But that's just my personal preference. I find it surprising that the manosphere has an issue with them. I'm lightly red pilled (lightish red... pink? Franklin Delano Donut!) but I don't consider tattoos to have anything to do with gender relations or be gender specific. To be clear, a few tattoos are fine, but people with giant tattoos are a turn off for me. I would still date a woman with a lot of tattoos (as long as they weren't awful), but it wouldn't be my preference. Not a deal breaker by any means.

I do not think it has to really do anything with sex. We still have this memory written in our brain that people with tattoos are some what dangerous, angry, toxic etc. even if you do not feel like it, you judge people based on their appearance. Not every person is like that, people are different and have different things they judge on people, but if you have met at least one person that is different in any way and it was bad memory, you will judge people based on that. Movies, comics, anything, people with tattoos = crime, toxicity, bad...it just develop like this. Japan = connection to Yakuza, old people = connection to mob...you name it.

I think it is getting to much more positive place, but you can really blame some people, it is natural.

Depends on tattoo, depends on the whole look and many more thing. If I saw woman with the most generic tattoos, I would say they are little bit undesirable...which is not bad thing really, we all look at different things that we are attracted to.

I'm split on tattoos. In general I find them unattractive but every once in a while I meet a woman who can pull it off. Back in my college days there was a woman who frequented the local watering hole. She was a professional businesswoman. Not a high powered attorney or anything like that but she almost always had on business casual attire.

Unless she was there at night.

She'd wear one of those sideless dresses with a big ass dragon tattoo that started around her shoulder and ended around her calf. I thought it was sexy as hell.

But in general I find tattoos unappealing.

For me women who have tattoos usually come off as the rebellious type. I prefer more reserved/bookish girls, who don't seem to go off so far in to the wild side. I've met some girls who have the personality I like and have a few mellow tats on them, they're a bit of an exception. But I prefer no tats at all. Part of it being due to my worldview and beliefs. I literally do not see the point in them. They aren't natural.

As somebody who spent a lot of time in tattoo parlours, both as client and hanging out with friends - I can see the reason why some men don't like it.

Two main observations:

Women are more impulsive with purchases so quite often they come to a tattoo place, pick some random stuff from a catalogue and do it without considering the consequences.
Women are way more likely to make a tattoo because it's a trend. Examples? Original tramp stamp "tribals" on lower back which back in a day were really the thing that made tattoos go mainstream, and more recently the "mandala" tattoos under the breasts.

Don't get me wrong - I believe that good quality tattoos can be absolutely the sexiest thing on a woman. I've seen alot of awesome, well thought pieces done, but unfortunately more often than not it's not the case. Quite often the "personal meaning" is used for these even if that is an excuse. I would say that on average - mens tattoos - especially the big projects - are way more thought out.

Do I believe in the common theme of linking mental issues with tattoos? Some observations deffo could be made, but I don't judge it that way. We all have demons we fight.

Because, unless the woman in question is full on committed to the aesthetic of body art, she more than likely got those tattoos in order to "fit in" with the frat-boy culture and is a visual signal of her slut-status.

It's called a Tranp-Stamp for a reason. And not to say that there is anything wrong with that, I appreciate sluts.

But men looking to commit to a serious relationship desire serious women, not sluts.

This is not hard to figure out.

Tattoos are a permanent mark on the body for a temporary fad that the woman probably went through when she was a teen or in her early 20's. It shows poor judgement and quite honestly for most men it just looks distasteful. It does not make a woman look good, it sort of devalues her to the level of trash - again, that is not necessarily a bad thing if that is what a guy is sexually drawn to but the question here is men who are serious.

A man who is serious minded and willing to commit to a woman is not going to settle for a trashy looking one that is most likely going embarrass him.

Then there is also the plain simple fact that tattoos simply look like shit and men being visually drawn creatures are not attracted to inked flesh which distracts from a woman's healthy appearance.

Case in point: Most men will pick Choice A for a long term commitment over choice B. Both girls are hot as hell but men will only take one of them seriously for a long term commitment.

It’s no different from fashion and I don’t particularly believe in fashion, so I guess I have a vague dislike of them in that regard but that would go for males and females. Maybe no tattoos over tattoos in an all things equal/tiebreaker scenario but not much beyond that.
