So I was thinking, there is a lot of complaining about there being no good men anymore, on all sides. And I would personally theorize that a big reason for that is depression. Depression caused by a lack of purpose.

Because ultimately thats what depression is, depression is a biological function to prevent you from wasting energy when there is nothing to gain. It can obviously go haywire and all, but I genuinely believe that most cases of depression are because there just isn't a reason to not be depressed.

In the modern world you don't need to expend any real energy to survive, so you don't. You don't need to expend energy for pleasure, you've got porn and entertainment in your pocket. Everything is so easy that there is just no biological need to expend energy, so we are depressed.

And I think being single makes it particularly insidious, because if you've got a partner there is at least some reason to expend energy for them, to improve yourself for them and make your time together better. If you are single you have literally no reason to expend energy, and because of the easy entertainment there is also no motivation to get a partner.

And then eventually you get lonely, the easy single life doesn't cut it for you, but you cant get companionship because youre depressed and a useless sack of shit, and you cant stop being depressed because you cant get companionship because youre a useless sack of shit. Obviously you can improve yourself through depression, but it makes things 10x harder than they would be otherwise.

This is going to come off as very much a “first world problem” so if this upsets you, def move along, don’t mean to brag either, being honest. I’m 23 and net worth just hit 250k. Worked hard to aggressively save and invest to get here, but I’m not happy at all.

And I usually keep in contact as much as I can. I do have an issue where when I log on I have like 3 or 4 people message me to talk with me and I feel bad when they have an issue I can't listen to cause I'm talking to someone else.

I just have no fucking idea how to translate this success online into real life. I'm almost certainly never going to live with any of these women (1 of them was litearlly from Norway, another from the UK) so like I can't have a relationship that way.

But in real life I've been to speed dating events where people literally refused to interact with me (was asked to leave) I've had people at the bar ask me not to sit next to them. She lied about BC
They agreed that she'd have an abortion if she got pregnant and changed her mind after she was pregnant

Asked him, informally, to be a sperm donor and they agreed that it'd be solely her baby

Fuck my life. I slept at 2 am or so.

I slightly wake up at 6 am. Usually you know how you slightly wake up and then fall back into sleep....

But now since I'm in the throes of infatuation. My brain is immediately filled with thoughts of her and it goes into overdrive. Heart rate spikes and sleep is no longer an option.

Just got 4 hrs of sleep now. This is unsustainable. I feel awake but I'm sure my body has a sleep debt accumulating over the week.
