All three look average to me. Women of my generation weren't typically overweight however, so I would say that young women in the 1970's and 80's would be above average by today's standards.

A is prettier than most, can't get a good look at her body, which matters to me, but since she's so pretty I'll assume she's meant to be above average.

B and C however are both pretty rough looking, B's face is pretty unfortunate and C is more than the typical amount of overweight. I'd say both B and C are below average and A is above average.

All three seem fairly average, with the first maybe being a little above average, and the third being below.

None of which should have much trouble dating provided they have reasonable expectations.

I would say A is above average in the face but fatter than average, B is slightly below average because of looking weird, and C is well below average.

keep in mind that Im not talking about true average percentages, Im talking about the average 20-35 year old, middle class woman.

so average would be white, a face in between A and B, and not fat for the age and class I specified.

A: She's pretty, but seems a bit overweight. But I can't really tell because of the angle she's sitting at and the pic in general doesn't show enough of her body. So for all I know she could be "thick in the right places" and be above average.

B: She seems (just off what I can see from her face) like she wouldn't be fat. But I don't think her face is pretty or average even, I would find her below average, and too manly looking (not trying to be mean, just honest). But she's not super ugly or anything. She's close to being average possibly idk.

C: Definitely below average. She's overweight and has a below average face and teeth are crooked.

See, when I think of average, I don't think of what most women look like in the West, because as we all know most people in the West are fat. Fat to me is not normal, it is abnormal, and it's not our natural state as humans. Only recently in our entire history has humanity (in the West) had this weight epidemic, but even if for example we got to a point where 99% of ppl were fat, fat would still not be "average," it's an immediate deduction of points.

When I think "average," I think of a woman who is just baseline normal in everything, meaning she's not fat, but she's not toned or athletic either, her face doesn't have standout features that would catch the eye as beautiful, but she also doesn't have negative traits either that go the other way. Just "plain." So without negative features and not being fat I place that as a 5, which is average (even though that standard is not met by most women currently).

Same thing for men btw. Just because so many men are fat doesn't give them a pass to me to say that's average. To me an average man isn't fat, but he's not cut and muscular either, just normal. Same for face, neither negative nor positive.

Edit: here's an example of an average woman for me that I would rate as a 5.

I'm not into A, but I'm reasonably sure a lot of other guys will rate her pretty highly. She's well above average I think.

I think B is pretty much average, maybe a teensy bit below; like a 4.9/10 or smth.

C is solely held back by her weight, she looks like she'd be solidly well above average if she'd lose some. As she is now, I'd say she's also pretty average, maybe a little below as well, 4.8?

A is slightly below average because she's overweight and a racial minority. (40% of US adults 20-39 are obese, and 13% are black. So that's not "average")

B is very below average because she's very masculinized.

C is very below average because she's morbidly obese. (only 11.5% of US adults are morbidly obese - defined BMI>40)

They are all below average and it's comical that women put these up as "average".

A - 6/10 - Above average, very pretty smile, nice facial features, would easily be a 7.5+ if she lost weight. (I'm white for context, I find all races attractive)

B - 5.5 - Very slightly above average, I think the picture angle doesn't do her any favors. The hairstyle and glasses don't compliment her face well. But I think with a different hairstyle and different glasses or contacts she could easily push far above average 7+ range. The thicker square glasses are very mid-2000s esque and look fairly juvenile which kind of gives me the ick.

C - This isn't really a fair comparison because she is much older than the others. I'd rank her slightly below average at 4/10, but only because of her weight. If she lost weight I could easily see her sliding into the 5-6.5/10 range (for her age group).

Overall I think the only thing holding these women back appearance wise are largely tangible changes, weight loss and style changes, the only below average one - C could easily push into Average and possibly above average range with weight loss and style changes.

I don’t really know what ‘average’ is as that’s subjective to a degree and these are just images. I think the average woman definitely has an easier time dating than average man by a large margin, so the claim has some merit to it. I think that any woman who’s a 6-7 will find dating much easier than many men who are 7-9s - some of this is how expectations have changed and some of this is still cultural i.e. the burden is still on the man to provide, ask out, be selected, and deal with an abundance of rejection in between.

A - Should have an easy time dating. She’s a little overweight but she’s attractive. Some people complain about how black women have it really hard. I’m of the opinion that I would have no problem dating her if I were basing my decision on appearance alone and I’m a white man. I know that I’m in better shape than her. I estimate based on her attire and how she presents herself that I’m probably of a higher socio-economic standing than her. But like most men, that doesn’t bother me. I know nothing about her personality though. Totally would date - I think she’s a 6.5 though it’s hard to assess exactly how big or unhealthy she is. And if she put in some effort she could easily be a 7-8 with that beautiful smile.

B - I have to admit seems pretty average. I think this person would get matches and dates on apps. Way more matches and dates than myself. I could consider going on a date with this person even though she’s about a 4-5.5. Strange enough, this one could also put in some effort and make herself into a 6 pretty easily.

C - This one might be more average if you consider her age. I think this one would have a harder time - still an easier time than myself. This person is probably currently a 3.5-4.5. Again, if she gets in shape she would be in a much better position to date even though she probably still gets more date offers than I do.

I think the thesis you present has some merit to it. I would walk it back from ‘highly attractive men’ to ‘above average attractive men who really shouldn’t have much of a hard time dating’. So, here I would say women who are 5-6 out of 10 will have a far easier time dating than lots of guys who are 7s and 8s, and I think there’s lots of evidence out there to support this view.

In the end, what’s holding back these women is some of the same and more suggestions that women commonly recommend to average men. Get in shape, get some style, make yourself presentable etc. The difference is women expect men to put in the effort and they, themselves, do not have to. All the information is pretty much there for everyone to see.

The rating system is completely subjective anyway. That's why men compare ratings to each other.

Wow reading thru the comments confirmed exactly what I thought all along. A lot of guys are straight up delusional. It’s likely down to social media and regular media. When I see things like, “Anna Kendrick is average”, I gotta shake my head. These young men grew up believing that less attractive actresses are average. Reality is, majority of actresses are at least a 7. They wouldn’t be actresses if they weren’t. No one wants to watch a movie with a truly average woman as the star. So the rankings are completely off. A 10 in these guys eyes is someone who has had plastic surgery, is wearing tons of makeup, sexy clothes, and probably used a ton of filters and editing to get their photos to look like that. Even the 10 wouldn’t be a 10 in the real world. Take away the filters, etc and these guys might very generously give her a 7. So basically a 8-10 woman in their ratings is complete fantasy and fake. The women they rate as 6-7, are some of the most beautiful women in society, models and actresses. So truly average women are being rated as well below average incorrectly. I always figured this was case and these comments proved it.

All of these pictures are taken in different contexts so this comparison is really stupid. A is smiling and the photo looks somewhat professionally taken for social media, Instagram maybe; the smile alone adds at least 1 point to her attractiveness scale so there is that. A is definitely very attractive and I would love to squeeze her in a bed :)

B. has a very attractive shape of her head, we don't see the rest of their body so can't comment on that but it's a passport photo style so she is not smiling which takes some attractiveness away. I say if she changed her hairstyle and smiled, maybe if the photo was taken in a different setting, from the angle like A she would be definitely the most attractive one here.

C. One can see that she is a bit too overweight, at least for my taste but ateast she is smiling. Most of the issues are actually the same as B photo which means that if the photo was taking in a similar setting as A, if she wore better cloths, took care of her hair and put a little bit of makeup on she could look slightly above average even with weight considered. If she lost her weight she could out do A, maybe even B.

Average women that are overweight and don't take of their appearance are below average, the same standards and criteria would apply to men also.

This thread was a very good insight into the irreparable differences men and women experience either through social engineering and propaganda or simply because of biology.

A lot of people seem to be mistaking what an average is in this context.

Average on a scale from 0-10 is 5, that's it. There's no 80% of the population, there's no scientific study, there's no random mathematical nonsense.

It doesn't matter how unrealistic it is to achieve, it doesn't matter how many people or lack there of have achieved it what matters is that it can be achieved and has been achieved and therefore sets the standard.

Most people are not beautiful and that's okay but lets stop pretending everyone is a 8-10.

I see this over and over again, and it now has me convinced; what most men are calling "average" is actually quite well above average.

Most men generally just want to avoid 2 kinds of women outside of the obvious stuff like Serial killers...

women who are too fat (usually above 30%)
women who are too old (usually above 35).

Both make their sexual value decrease absurdly, and if you cant really like to have sex with your partner at least a few years... what would be the point of a relationship?
