The truth is it’s almost always socially acceptable for an attractive man to pursue a woman in any setting, meanwhile, it’s almost always socially unacceptable for an ugly guy to pursue a woman in any setting. Obviously, there are exceptions in extreme cases, like heckling a woman on the street to get her number will usually be seen as weird and harassing behavior regardless of the man.

But in 95% of scenarios and settings, how attractive the guy is will determine whether or not approaching a woman is acceptable.

Case in point example:

I saw a YouTube Short where a guy (who was conventionally attractive) went into a convenience store, told the girl at the register she was cute, and then asked her out to dinner the following day. She smiled and said yes. Cute story right? Except imagine the same scenario where the guy is unattractive and the girl is not interested. Then the same story would read "creepy man makes sexual comment and unwanted advance on woman cashier".

My neighbor has a security camera that faces the sidewalk (it’s not a ring camera, it’s like a trail type camera) and (I’ve just learned all this) apparently has caught me walking my dog past his house basically everyday. A while ago in a post about how taller girl shorter guy relationships should be normalized, the top response was that it couldn’t ever be normal because 4% of guys were shorter than the average woman, and 1-2% of woman were taller than the average guy.

However, you a better way to look at it would be as 18% of guys being shorter 18% of girls (the inflection point 5 foot 6.3 inches) or 32% of women are taller than 5 foot 5, and therefore taller than the bottom 9% of men. And the top 5% of women at 5’7.9 and above are taller than 34% of men.

Again, I don’t think it’s gonna happen, but I didn’t like the comparison they made.
