The "problem" is that what women are lying about are generally not "good" things so they are going to get negative responses when they do tell the truth in the same way that someone admitting to a wrongdoing doesn't automatically negate the wrongdoing, it just allows us to start the discussion on what the punishment/solution to the problem should be.

So, as I said in the other post on the topic, I definitely think this is a component. I just think it’s not important to cast it as the only reason.

For example, women definitely also play the game if telling themselves stories about how they don’t care about attraction when they really do. I don’t even think this is conscious for a lot of women, they just legitimately don’t understand how attractiveness turns into tingles for them. Men do the same shit on other topics (e.g. a woman’s ambition), but just not on attractiveness.

I’ve had discussions with women about how they view men they have dated. Sometimes you can point out that all the guys that they had the most “chemistry” with just happen to be muscular, attractive, 6’2” athletes, and if they are introspective enough will legitimately have a moment of surprise and say, “wow, physical attraction really does play a bigger role in my decisions than I thought!”

The problem describes here is definitely a problem, particularly online. I just don’t think it can be the entire explanation because the number of women explicitly stating that they are chad chasing IRL (or even realize they are in the first place) is comparatively small to the number that downplay.

I think the issue is that men and women have different levels of standards that they use and works for them. A womans standard may seem outlandish for guy, as if a guy ever had the same standards he would probably be alone for the rest of his life.

Only partly true. Part of it is that they also don't wanna present themselves as shallow (men do this too) and part of it is also that they themselves genuinely don't know what they prefer. Like a lot of women say that a good sense of humour is attractive, but there was a piece of research stating that men's ability to make women laugh didn't impact their attractiveness, however, the men who women found attractive were perceived as funnier by said women. About preferences, it's fully acceptable to prefer a 10/10 man over other men, however, this is not the position men are taking when criticizing women's preferences. You are partly right. If men want to get more candor from women, they have to stop getting angry at them for it. Or twisting admissions and weaponizing them as 'proof' we need to go back to the 1950s ASAP.

Going on a rant real quick because I hear this shit all the time

because when they are honest they build a laundry list of expectations and requirements that’s so specific and loaded that realistically maybe a few hundred thousand men on the planet would ever achieve those standards.

And of course unfortunately since women have the vast majority of social power those expectations are heavily enforced within our societal structure

we then get a system where men are divided between the few men who commonly meet those standards and the men who don’t leaving the top 10% of men living life and the bottom 90% trudging through it being indoctrinated into believing all their lives they should be actively meeting societal standards that realistically only very few should meet.

Not to mention how this creates a breeding ground for one sided relationships

She wants him to see eye to eye in general with almost every standpoint she holds, align with and enjoy every single one of her numerous hobbies (quickly mentioning the demonization of common hobbies amongst men), have a stable and rapidly growing financial situation and career, a long list of positive attributes and feats (smart, funny etc), the personality of a scripted videogame protagonist, a long line of skills (both career and handy man), good genetics when it comes to athleticism and looks etc

I’m sorry but even if the vast majority of women on this planet were built like scarlet Johansson it should be completely unacceptable in every capacity for not just women but men to create a laundry list of expectations, push them onto the opposite gender and give them anything less then what they received in return let alone absolutely nothing.

Simple as that

But men are the bad guys for expressing frustration with a clearly one sided societal construct filled with double standards.

The fact that this alone makes someone as lonely and unwanted as me (and others like me) to prefer being single should say something.

Asked my ex the whole physical preferences question once. Not a good ideal! She told me that my arms muscles were too small for the rest of my body, she was right and I couldn't unsee it afterwards! Previously I had kinda thought I had a nice body.

I have fixed the physical issue it since then but now I have a complex. It's not great I worked out obsessively for years. I mean my arms look great now but who gives a shit. I was probably more attractive to most women with the confidence I used to have when I was skinny af. Somethings are better not to know. I wish I had at least had the self awareness to know my ego couldn't handle the answer and the better judgment not to ask the question.

It's like we can't have preference. When in casual conversations in a group of people everyone was sharing physical preference, and a women said something we were hit with angry shouting. I really don't think my preferences are unrealistic, taller or same height as me, longer hair and fit or slim. But apparently men had to be loved the way they are, but women have to be fit, cute, young looking, big tits, big ass, tiny waist, long legs, hairless below neck, long thick hair, long lashes, big lips, small nose, big eyes, pretty smile, white but also naturally tan and so on and on.
