There are ugly women out there that never get approached. It’s stupid how many guys seriously think all women have men wanting to date them.

She can be a hideous bog witch that drowns puppies for sport. Some guy is going to want to fuck her and enter a relationship with her.

Fuck? Yes. A serious relationship? No, men have higher standards for that. And women are not men, many of us hate the idea of being used for sex by desperate men that don’t actually like us. So all that “you can still get sex tho” isn’t a compliment or something that makes us feel better.

This is the world that the dating apps have created.

For the most part, the US still has a gender ratio of about 50:50 but your wouldn’t know that by looking at the online dating marketplace. You would think that men outnumber women by a ratio of 3 to 1 in the US.

Men need to walk away from online dating. It’s the only solution.

I’m a woman and I am overweight. But I have been told very often that I have a pretty face. And I am working out twice a week. I am a doctor. Above average salary. Drivers license. Intelligent. Social. I take care of my appearance. YET I don’t attract men. Have been single for ages. And no, it’s not that I am picky. I don’t mind men who are overweight, bald, skinny… I also don’t care what their degree is as long as we can have conversations on the same level. There is just literally nobody showing interest in me. I am also fine with that. But what you wrote down is a little pile of BS to me.

Maybe the difference is that more women like me would rather be alone than just be with someone who is desperate. I want to be wanted and loved because of who I am, I don’t want to be with someone who couldn’t get anyone else and therefore wants to be with me, out of fear of being alone.

And I feel like reading some of your comments here you somehow feel like you are entitled to women replying back. It’s totally okay not to reply back fast. Even ghosting is pretty normal if you just had a conversation on a dating app. It’s something else when somebody who you have been talking to for months ghosts you, no that’s not okay. But just after 1 or 2 conversations it’s totally okay to ghost in my opinion (even though I think it’s better to plainly say you’re not interested), point is women on dating apps don’t owe you a reply. They’re strangers.

So I think you just need to do the same thing as I am doing. Obviously I also would prefer to be happy with a life partner. But I am not wasting energy chasing people who are not interested in me, I am not crying because someone ghosts me, their loss. Their fucking loss. I rather work on ‘how to be happy single’ than ‘how to find a good match’ because the first one is way more attainable. It’s more attainable because it’s a project I can do myself and I don’t rely on somebody else who might leave me or fuck up. And if I would meet a man one day and it clicks, then that would be the cherry on top of my cake.

Romantic love should be the cherry on top of the cake in your life, not the cake itself.

Double standard? Don’t be silly. It’s not woman’s fault men are dogs who’d rather have sex with anyone than have self-esteem or self-respect. They aren’t forcing men. You could argue they should be better, but it’s a double standard not to blame men for their own bad choices.

And while low self-esteem men will be attracted to some women no matter what, the better and higher self-esteem men have standards and the better women do put in effort.

That is because sex with men is:

Gross-most men don’t shower or do other basic self care often enough which turns off women.

Unsatisfying - men either don’t care to make an attempt to please women in bed seeing it as the woman’s fault if she doesn’t orgasm or they think it’s simping to do sexual favors for women that only the woman enjoys to help her have a good experience and want to have sex with you again.

Risky - not only do women have to worry about pregnancy and if she is in a state that ban abortion but also the over all cost of that type of care, plan b pills, birth control and or dr visits/ tests. Women also have higher rates of catching STDs. All of this can be avoided by avoiding sex so why should women have meh sex? Women also get a bad reputation for having sex especially among men who see a woman who likes sex as a whore and not wife material. Women who have sex lose value in men’s eyes so why should women give away sex just to be looked down upon?

inclined to believe that this is not true. Standards might be somewhat lower but I think it's overstated ("men have lower standards" gets quickly mangled to "men have no standards at all and would literally fuck a pile of shit with a vagina" so I hesitate to even say the former) - there are still women who feel "passed over" by being unattractive, autistic, not white, etc. so clearly there is more to it. "Invisible" is often the term used (an example I would call typical that I found off Google, see also).

It's often said that stuff like this, as well as other apparent female privileges in dating, only apply to "conventionally attractive" (add in "white/NT/etc." as appropriate) women if it applies at all, and I do see that argument.

Having those things doesn’t make you impressive, they’re just part of being human. You seem to think that women’s attraction is more about what you have rather than what you do.

Women wanting to financially support themselves have every right and I can't possibly see any reason why it's wrong of them to not be financially dependent on a male. It’s not a double standard, it’s just life. Women have value, men are replaceable. Throughout the history of our species, men have had to compete for sexual access to women. While there are more hoops for men to jump through these days, the basic premise remains the same as it has always been.

At the end of the day each man only has so much time in the day. And he probably has things to do other than pay attention to women 24/7. Men with successful careers, say professional athletes, doctors, lawyers, etc. are going to have to spend a lot of time working on their careers to be successful.
