Feminists don’t say that misogyny kills while misandry hurt feelings to mock you. It’s a true fact that most violent crime is men. They say that to draw attention to real issues and hopefully get people to wake up to the difference men and women have in how often we become the victims of that violent crime.

but on to your point. Women shouldn't have to constantly be afraid of hurting a man's ego. or try to center their whole lives appealing to male interests. the point of feminism was so that a woman could live her own life. focus on her dreams and aspirations.

It's definitely not only misandry that will turn certain groups of men vindictive towards women.

For example, as seen in this space, a percentage of angry, vindictive men hate women because women aren't fucking them. Which is not misandry. Women being ok with being single is not misandry. Women having high standards for a romantic relationship is not misandry.

I mean, the way you phrased this argument is telling as to what is really the motivating/underlying factor: you're essentially saying "do/act how we want you to or we'll hurt you."

At its most basic level, that is a desire to control women. And men who want to control women will not suddenly lose the desire if all misandry was to suddenly vanish.

That's not to say there isn't rhetoric that is misandry, or that it should just be ignored. I'm just not convinced that we'd see a big change in men's (broadly speaking) treatment of women if misandry were to vanish. I'm not convinced at all. Rather, the men who already care would continue to care, and the men who want to control women would keep on trying to figure out ways to do so.

More often than not, women can be the target of proxy-misandry (I've been wanting more than a year to write an article about that), for example I've seen women shame other women for being "boy moms" that is a woman who has a boy, in one case a woman with 7 daughters and 1 son was mocked for the fact that tried to raise her son to want "masculine" things.

Misandry can also harm daughters of single fathers, I've read a story years ago about a teenage girl feeling suicidal because she and her father was denied a place in a domestic abuse shelter because they only acknowledged male perpetrators. This specific type of misandry also harms lesbians because some lesbians have been denied entry to a DV shelter.

I think part of the problem is, a lot of prominent mens rights and online feminists are grifters, who get paid more the more engagement they get, are incentivised to say more polarising, shocking things to boost said engagement, and that influences people’s actual opinions and created a space that’s based more on vitriol than having actual discussion.

Two things can be true. First, yes, in a way misandry hurts women, and misogyny hurts men - because any form of bigotry has a net negative effect on society.

But the way you’re framing this only proves feminists’ points. “If you hurt our feelings, we’ll vote for politicians who we think will take away your rights.” Truth is misogyny and misandry rarely manifest in an equal way.

Feminism isn’t what it used to be. Historically they did fight for women’s rights. Now they have divulged into hating men and promoting ideas that are technically anti-women below the surface. Women used to want to have kids but now they’ve unfortunately been brainwashed to think that abortion is the way to go.

What happened to taking accountability for your actions? Why are you blaming women you don’t know for your choices?

And you’re making a crazy comparison. Because misandry, which no reasonable or non sexist person would say is representative of feminism at large, is not something that is back by a system that violates and harms men. Whereas misogyny is enabled at the institutional level. We live under a world that is still, even in most societies, largely patriarchal and configured by men.

The impact and implications of you suggesting that some feminists acting morally superior and “alienating, demonizing, insulting” men is compatible to some men voting against people’s rights and endangering them physically is not the same. Misogyny translates to violence and abuse that is often culturally normalized and legally acceptable in different degrees across the world.

So yeah, you are comparing people’s feelings getting hurt to people being killed. And that’s really damn stupid. Acknowledging that, acknowledging the impact and harm of one, isn’t mocking. But you’re reductive and sexist take on all of this clearly is.

I mean, of course there’s ways to better market feminism to men. But men who are eager to see women (at large) punished and have physical consequences as a result of perceived mockery will never be interested in feminism because they don’t care about women. You don’t see women as people, you love to see them punished as a result of seeing women arguing for things that aren’t convenient for you nor give you power over them.

You and your type of people will never care or sympathize, and you’d rather get pedantic about perceived slights that shouldn’t be offensive to the average man to justify your vitriol than to stop and care for others.

Also there seems to be a Venn diagram of men who feel like there's no support and those who hate "woke" ideologies and policies. But providing male mental health support, homelessness programs, educational support--sure sounds woke to me.

And finally, let me remind you that women's and minorities programs emerged in the first place because, in the U.S., white men who held the positions of power in corporations, the housing market, lending, finance -- were NOT hiring based on merit, being fair or inclusive in terms of autonomy and advancement, being able to participate in society.

SO now that other groups like women and minorities got support to move up JUST to have the same opportunities, men like them feel like they're losing something. So only these men should have access? Only they should advance?

You tell me, what should have been done differently? And once again, it was men who created the situation we're in. Like, LAWS had to be passed to tell them to stop discriminating against people, stop raping people, not have sex with children, etc.

SO what's the answer? For women now to keep advancing but shut the fuck up because only men's feelings matter? For women and minorities to fuck off elsewhere? For women NOT to be vocal about what we've had to endure for centuries because men can't take it? But they can dish it? What's your answer?
