I find it funny that guys here are obsessed over the fact that study showed that most young adult men said they’re single. Of course, they’re going to conveniently forget that most young men also said they’re having sex.

As for the theories why the percentages of single young women and single young men are so lopsided, I believe its a combination of alot of things:

Men engaging in casual sex more than women are.
A lot of people are in the early stages of dating, so they haven’t really made it official whether or not they are a couple yet.
Young women coupling with the guys in the older age bracket(s).
Men cheating more. (I’d love for anyone to find me evidence that women cheat more.)
Lesbians possibly coupling up for than gay men do.

The reason it became less popular is because all the tech bros who were watching this shitty manosphere content (I'm a lefty, it didn't hit me unless I specifically searched for it to see what they were saying) eventually started making 300k. And now they're making 300k, going home, and sitting in their room all day. Or they're using their 300k to go out, realize that they don't have an social skills or abilities, and failing and going back inside.

Last night, I read a thread of this 47YO woman who was asking if men truly disregard women's careers. Now, I've already said many times that men lack nuance when communicating this point, so no point in arguing about it here. I want to highlight her thought process.

Is it really so? Because I AM interested in a guys career, love to hear about the job of an entomologist, climatologist, energy engineer, etc. And to me that's a turn on, I'd dislike a guy, even with wealth, who played video games all day.

She thinks that just because she is turned on by interesting jobs (at least she's honest about that), men should be as well. She also unsurprising pushes back or ignores comments that say otherwise and latches onto the comments that support her view.

Honestly, it's just sad at this point.

Last night I was second guessing signing kiddo up for another soccer camp this summer, but then I remembered one of my worst fears as a mother is for kiddo to end up entangled in the alt right/manosphere/inkwells because he didn't get enough socialization in his childhood.

He has a proclivity for shyness, LOVES computers, and is somewhere on the spectrum; a recipe for a future manosphere participant. God help me, his father and I will steer him towards communal based sports and self esteem building activities.

Thankfully he says he's happy and loves himself; no reports of bullying or trouble at school, and he has a handful of playmates. I'd say he has a very privileged world view, in the sense that everyone is nice to him and he believes everyone is a 'friend'. I hope he holds on to that optimism for as long as he can, or at least long enough to get him through adolescence.

But she lives in England so when I pass out is when she wakes up. So at like 11:30 she calls me and I'm fast fucking asleep I keep the phoen with me because I know it upsets her when she doesn't pick up and I sleep right through it.

And then she's upset with me in the morning I dind't pick up. And I try to say "I'm asleep, I don't hear it" but she's still upset about it. She says "I know it's silly and it's stupid and you're asleep" but still. It makes me feel bad. Idk

The whole "whoever asks the person out should pay for the date" meme is stupid.

The underlying assumption is offensive. She is gracing him with her presence while she doesn't really want to go on a date with him, so she is doing him a favor and he should pay her for it.

If you don't want to go on the date, then don't go on the date. Don't voluntarily do a favor for someone and then expect something back in return. If you do want to go on a date, then it's mutual and it doesn't matter who originally asked.
