One of the biggest obstacles in OLD for men is that most sites or apps had to install measures just to keep women from getting absolutely spammed, which lead to the whole "swiping until you get a match" lottery.

You either got lost in the noise (my friends' OKC inbox pre-2015 was absolutely flooded) or you're at the mercy of an algorithm which profits off of keeping you from matching for as long as possible.

As a very basic measure, if women secured a commited relationship before having sex, that would improve things a vast amount. Instead, single women take the approach "what's the best I can possibly attract for sex, have sex with, and then try to convert that into some form of commitment".

I think the real problem with online dating is that women mainly just use it for validation. Generally, women get their rocks off from attention. Men join online dating to hopefully meet and get with women. Women use online dating to feed their egos which to them is infinitely better than having sex with a man. As many have pointed out, 40 year old men who actually can get a woman in her 20's are very rare. If you want do dissuade them from trying so that young women won't have to deal with them, fine I guess that's valid but then again, being able to rebuff attention from someone you're not interested in is part of regular adulting. Men imposing themselves as major creeps isn't relegated to any particular age really so that's a separate problem. Potentially, a man that is a bit older should take into account that the risk is greater of him appearing as all sorts of gross, and he should compensate for that in some degree... but if he can do just that, I see no reason he shouldn't take a shot if he sees it.

That being said, I can see a patern among grown men going fiercely after young girls: these are men that usually didn't had the chance of experiencing "young love". These men have almost a feeling of having missed these sexual experiences with younger girls adult women can't satisfy.

Wouldn't be fair to say women are at fault too for creating a culture where promiscuity is exibited all around but where only some men are allowed to experience it?

What I'm saying is that this has been going like, forever, men having all the sexual experiences and sploiting the market is not anything new, but now thanks to the information age those men who missed out realize what's out there and they want it too, and won't give up no matter how old they are.

Is like a vicious cyrcle you know. For the record, I'm engaged to a woman 1 year older than me, and I've dated several older women theough my life and banged a 38' yo when I was 21, so you get the picture, but I would be lying if I said I don't understand some grown "bachelors". Young 20ish women are a hell of a drug, and if I hadn't had my fair share of them I would crave them too.

This doesn’t take into account that younger women prefer older man. On OLD I have my preferences set to 21-30, I’m a 28M. All of the women in my DMs are 19-26. Older women 29-33 swipe right as well but never just aggressively drop into my DMs like the younger women.
