Agreed. But only in relation to post-modernist takes on feminism and feminist theory. I believe feminism (and yes, all three waves) were critical points for the development of western thinking and were desperately needed to realign how people saw gender and the vital contributions of women to civic life.

But when it comes to the "male feminists"? Its pathetic really. I noticed this when I was single both online and during my time swinging a few years ago.

Online you would so often have women tell stories of approval seeking men they met and they would all talk about them with such disrespect. It was both hilarious and sad. Back when I was swinging, I remember going to a party and women literally walking up to me and begging to fuck. She would then show you her profile on some swinging site and there would be hundreds upon hundreds of messages from dudes saying the most pathetic, sycophantic shit. All this for a woman who literally likes getting fucked by "BBC" in front of a dozen people. I gotta be honest both experiences, alongside messaging from Patrice O'neal, really opened my eyes. Women aren't terrible, but they are capable of incredible efficiency when it comes to self service. Whilst I definitely feel our society is a greater alternative to ones where women dont have autonomy over their bodies and their economic freedom (often reflected in said countries GDP and HDI), I also feel a lot of men have never really been equipped with understanding the reality of female sexual nature. Many feel they can simply nice their way into female submission or authority because society doesn't let you control a woman through marriage or chivalry...but that's even less effective.

This is the worst take I've seen on a topic on reddit all week.

That's not at all why "beta" males supported the feminism movement. It's because they value the contributions that women can provide, and did not think that they had a sufficient forum to provide those contributions.

Also, feminism supports the idea that women should have bodily autonomy. I don't know why anyone wouldn't support that concept, frankly.

The problems I have with feminism is that it has a certain degree of hypocrisy. Either values are being cherry picked, or the reality of it hasn't settled into the zeitgeist. Equal entitlement means equal responsibility, and that doesn't seem to be fully accepted as part and parcel of the package. As well, there's a lot of bad math floating around that is used inappropriately, and that's frustrating because it's obviously used to be self-serving.

But supporting feminism is a much higher minded concept than using it to try to get women to sleep with you. FFS.

OP is really talking about/criticizing the idea of female sexual empowerment and should have used that word instead of feminism. I myself doubt whether female sexual empowerment has been a positive for most people. Obviously women should have agency over themselves and their bodies, and I suspect that birth control is a positive, but the messaging was that "its ok to be a slut and a sexual deviant that puts pleasure first" is most definitely negative. OPs point is that most men that encourage this behavior won't be the beneficiaries of it. But I doubt that women really benefit from it either.

So alpha males were getting laid before, and alpha males are getting laid after. It sounds like in your view nothing has changed.

It would only have backfired if they are getting laid less and alphas are getting laid more, but you're not claiming that.
