I know this sub is a place for spirited discussion and we often face deeply rooted demons. But I have an anecdote that is definitely related.

I had previously spoke with a member of the sub that I believe to be deceased through self inflected injuries. The incident in question took place about six months ago and I’ve been debating speaking up about it.

They voiced clear intent and have not been active since said date of declared intent.

That said, I want to say this: you matter to someone. I don’t care what side of the coin you’re on, you matter to someone. Regardless of appearance or station, you matter to someone.

I don’t want this to feel like a PSA. I’m not the type to wanna rock the boat like that.

But my thoughts on this person have been weighing heavily on me as of late. I want folks here to know that there is support out there for you.

I don’t give a shit if you’re just a random redditor: I have walked that path.

I’ve lost some of the best friends I’ve ever had to that path and it breaks my heart to see anyone taking those steps. Reach out. Talk to people. Seek resources in your area.

If you’re struggling with substances, reach out. Get that help. Talk to someone. It saved my life. It’s saved countless lives.

I never expected to survive 2020–as my depression had reached a boiling point even before the pandemic. But now I feel stronger than ever.

I can only pray the redditor just quit the site cold turkey.

I want them to know that they mattered to me. Sorry for the rambling. I want you all to have a great day.

The way men become bluepilled growing up has little to do with romance movies or media

Rather it has mostly to do with upbringing

If a guy grows up with no father, which is increasingly common, then he sees mom as de-facto ruler of his world, which will effect how he sees the world
Boys grow up in schools run by female teachers. And are often told in subtle or indirect ways that their female peers are superior (which might be "technically" true based on metrics or whatever)
Naturally, in society, we're largely taught that disagreeing with authority figures is bad and makes you a bad person. Well, if these administrative figures are largely and possibly 100% female, then the brain will likely subconsciously make a connection
Not to mention how in general the school system is quite punishing to a lot of naturally boyish and/or positive masculine traits.

This is the real way men end up supressing their masculinity and their true selves. THIS is the real way men end up learning to put women on a pedestal when they shouldn't.

If you're trying to argue that men feel lied to by society, this is where it starts. Women won't take your argument seriously if the first example you jump to is movies and media. Of course, they play a role, but they're the icing on the cake, not the cake itself.

The reason why niceguy-ism can be so hard to grow out of or shed; because it's so slowly and insidiously planted in you from childhood (which is uber important)

The variability hypothesis explains all the problems in dating. (When I say below average, average and above average I mean that holistically.)

If males are more likely to be concentrated at the most extreme ends of the spectrum. (40% below average males, 20% average males, 40% above average males)

And women are more likely to be concentrated in the middle (20% below average women, 60% average women, 20% above average women)

Then it seems to me, there aren’t enough male counterparts fit to match the female counterparts. Now, what does this tell us?

Let’s use basic math, If 80% of women are average or above but only 60% of men are average or above. That leaves 20% women who have to either date below their league, stay single, or chase Chad.

This is the rub! There are too many below average males (many of whom think they’re not below average) and not enough below average women to match with those males. Leaving a surplus.

This is why women complain they’re aren’t enough good males because they’re literally isn’t. There aren’t enough “good males” for every “good woman”

Only thing stopping females from evil deeds is their risk-aversion, give them the numbers and see their true nature.

I woke up convinced that regular men have to outwork and out hustle women every waking minute of the day. It's the only way to "catch up" and get to a good healthy level to be able to attract most women who are sexually interested in men.
